It is important that you read, comprehend , think before commenting

Did you read what I wrote about Chinua Achebe?
How does that relate with what you have written?

Read, comprehend and then think before reacting
It's obvious you don't get your own point. Am correcting your warped perspection about the reason why 20 pounds was paid to biafrans with bank savings during post civil war

You didn't read the report, brother.
The 20 pounds was almost equivalent to the per capita of the people at the time.
20pounds wasn't small like you think at that time.
Was the payment made to the whole eastern population!?!

How will you feel when you loose all your money and when is being paid ripped they pay by average income per head of the whole nigerian population even those without bank account.

Rest this case awolowo committed the worst human crime on earth and added scam to it.

No ,
I just wanted to clarify and you are making more out of it than necessary. Just so we are clear

My point is that it did not happen . You say it did which you probably heard somewhere. All I am trying to do is to appeal to your intellect and invite you to challenge and validate this erroneous conviction.
Nobody's bank balance was appropriated. Can this be done without legislation or one newspaper headline ? Chinua Achebe did not write a single paragraph . There simply is no documentary evidence whatsoever.
How were Igbo account identified and sifted from Ijaw. Ibibio or even Ikwerre accounts?

Not one Ijaw ,Ibibio or Ogoni man has ever claimed his bank balance was seized.
Who seized the money? The Federal Government? Did they pass a law or was it done secretly
Every biafran irrespective of tribe in it was affected, china achebe because he is Igbo pronouncing it made you think is just igbos where affected.

It's obvious that you're a bumbling illiterate.

£20 is worth £500 in today's money.....for as long as you Igbos continue to curse the people that help you so will suffering and pain continue in your pathetic tribe......3million more will go before biafra is achieved.
20 pounds worths 500 pounds how can you explain that if you ain't dumb!?!

I wish you same betrayals you inherit from afonja, no oduduwa

What about those who had lower than 20 pounds in the bank? How many ibos were banked as at 1970?
Hope you understand what 20 pounds is!?! How little it is...

Those with savings of 20 pounds doesn't exist or barely few

Those banked where our own whom awolowo defrauded. He is a big criminal

You mean "seize" I presume.

Did that actually happen or is it hearsay. I have not seen any evidence anywhere that that ACTUALLY happened. It is a myth. Did Chinua Achebe or Ojukwu ever publicly say this happened to any of them. Have you ever seen a single bank passbook as evidence. It is difficult to imagine that with a group as enlightened as NdiIgbo are that NO ONE has ever published any passbook e.g on Nairaland or elsewhere to say
"Eh hen this is my grandfather's passbook with Barclays or First bank and the money that was seized??
Haba Not even one!!!
That is unfathomable

.......

I know my words are meant to disarm .don't even try to put a front on it. It is what it is.
Similar words I presume so what's the fuss about!?! Or should we now be debating another man's language like you're best with its vocabs!?!

As for what you wrote up there, Nigeria doesn't end on nairaland and possibly you can get the info you want if you can use a simple google search. No way you can't grin

What does twenty pound payment have to do with savings in the bank>
It's injustice and inhumane to pay someone who has a lot of savings in the bank a paltry some of 20 pounds and cease the rest.

Awolowo will never find peace even in his grave.

What is funny?

I did not create this thread
It is "busted" not BURSTED

You have not unlocked any mystery so stop ridiculing yourself

The article is some kind of historical study that obviously was published AFTER 1972 . Anyone who went to school can deduce that. I have not expressed any opinion on the content
So there is no profound smartness in pointing out that Naira came about in 1973.So what?

Guy you are an illiterate

If the same study was done today . It would use naira or dollars. Does not mean we spend dollars.
In order for me to criticise the paper I have to see the whole thing
What an irony calling someone an illiterate so bodly grin

This people always play the victim card, your people looted a whole trailer load of onions, none of your activists called them out, burnted down 2 trucks loaded with palm oil, razed police stations, media houses, killed security officials, killed a prominent northern politician, none of your activists called them out.

They wan change am for una, Una begin shout genocide.
For me, they should grant them their Biafra so they can all leave the Southwest region.
Tell me if any of these has not happened in the sw!?!

See your mouth shouting southwest!?!

What's southwest without Lagos?

Maybe by now cocoa house will just be your only source of pride. wink

Are you supporting the looting of the onions? How can stealing other people's sweat be justified in the south east agitation?
Igbos are not know to be looters, he who lives in glass house should not throw stones. Ie, we have more to loose in the looting game.
Am not supporting the looting,

If they wish to ban onions from heading to east. They should go ahead asap that's all am saying. grin

Lol

this is just silly cheesy

I nukwa pitied cheesy

JohnSin97:
Your region had fewer banks but a higher population compared to the south west meaning that most igbos were too poor to have bank accounts.

The average yearly income of igbos before the civil war was less than £25.

The majority of your people exchanged their pounds for biafran currency at the unset of the war.

Biafra lost the war and your biafran pounds became worthless.

Meaning current value of igbos at the end of the war= 0

Awolowo pitied your forefathers and handed them £20(a year's income for majority igbo families) for losing a war. Where in history are people rewarded for loosing a war? Only in awolowo's Nigeria. I actually blame awo, left to most northerners you guys would have been left with your balls in your hands and not £20

Average income of all the population or average income of those that has savings in the banks!?!

Using Nigeria population as a case study what will the average income amount to!?

Then how does that justify 20 pounds paid to igbos that have huge savings > 20 pounds in the bank!?!

Politics › Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by EasternActivist: 6:19pm On May 14, 2021
AsomughaChuks05:
Anambra can generate tens of billions of naira annually from levies on trucks passing through Anambra state. The position of Anambra as the gateway to the east should be leveraged upon to generate IGR as oil revenues dry up. What should be worked out however is the mode of collection. Though many of those truck drivers are stubborn and will like to speed away when flagged down but a system to track them through their plate numbers can be developed to arrest and prosecute them for tax evasion.
On what basis exactly!?!
Must nigerians suffer themselves!?!
More reason Nigerians die young.
We only think of ways to scuffle ourselves.

On what basis are you taxing and pulling up rubbish levies? Bc you're gateway!?! Hope when biafra is achieved and the niger Delta decides to do same, hope you won't cry foul.

You wanna start exploiting truck drivers carrying goods. No solid infrastructure, no maintenance, no night and day security. End of the day na u and I go suffer bc those item prices will eventually shoot up and you will blame buhari for your self incurred inflation. Who is now suffering!?!

Pls stop reasoning backwards.
