Good evening house, here on behalf of my sister, she was refused because she wrote the wrong IELTS test even after getting band 7. Her husband is applying through a firm in the uk and she was told to write the a1 English test. She already booked the test, Checked out the exam past questions and I think she should be good. Hope she will be approved if she passes the test cos am worried for her
Once she passes the test and also meets the other requirements stated on the gov.uk website. She’s good to go.

What are the documents il need to submit pls?
Yes, you can apply for a spouse visa. However, you need to provide the genuineness of your relationship up until the marriage. Check the link for more information.

Hi everyone, is there priority visa application in nigeria.
How many months of bills are we to submit please

I think priority visa application has resumed. For further information, go to TLContact website(the centre for submission of Nigerian visa application. I read there, that it costs £573 for priority(takes 30 days) while super priority costs £956 (decision by end of next working day).
As per the bills, I’m not quite sure of that as I only submitted 1 council tax, tenancy agreement, pictures of apartment, and no bills. Only 6 months bank statements , 6 months payslips, employment letter as well as correspondence etc. It’s 6 months of bank statements & payslip if the sponsor has been working in the same company for at least 6 months. Otherwise, it is 12months.

Good morning guys, please I have something I wanna be sure about and I need an answer ASAP..... The letter head of the letter from the sponsor's employer is addressed to which Embassy (Nigeria or UK)?
Because my wife showed me the letter she got from her employer and it has the address of her place of work (which is correct) and this " To whom it may concern
Nigeria High Commission
9 Northemberland Avenue
London,
WC2N 5BX
(Not sure if the Embassy address is the right one to use since I'm the one going to the UK)
Hi, the letter is usually addressed to the UK embassy. As at the time we applied, we used the address in Lagos cos we didn’t know the uk address, I think it should be the Sheffield one. Either way, it should be addressed to the UK embassy.

Hello everyone
Does spouse visa have priority service ? How long does it take to process spouse visa, have been to the Uk twice though
At the moment, there’s no priority service. It used to take 120working days or 24weeks. But lately , it’s been taking about 5months. Mine took 104working days. Hopefully, the number of days will reduce drastically and they resume priority service

Good day all, pls I have few questions to ask so that I can prepare for dependant visa application by January.

1. Is #5million enough for prove of funds

2. I will be getting married early January and I intend to start the application process by mid January, pls I hope there won't be a problem because of the closeness.

3. Aside marriage certificate, what other things are necessarily required to show proof.
I don’t know about question 1, but I’ve seen people apply immediately after marriage. It’s all about proving the genuineness of your relationship.
Asides the marriage certificate, you need to upload copies of your pre-marriage pics, wedding pics, post wedding(if you have), stamps &/or visas, audio calls, video calls, Skype or WhatsApp chats etcera. Anything that proves your relationship is subsisting and genuine

Good morning house, i have a question i applied for EUSS Settlement with my wife last year June, she live in uk but she`s Ireland citizen, i was denied February this year because they said she didn't include more evidence showing she has been living in England prior to Brexit, i did appeal since march and up till now they haven't deduct the charges for appeal or send any response, i am thinking of reapplying so as to submitted the new documents, Secondly i had a paxxport in the past which i use in applying for uk visit over 14 years ago, with different year of birth but same date & month of birth, thou i have corrected the errors at population commission after this last refusal, MY QUESTION.... do i continue waiting for appeal which is more than 6 months or re-applied and submit the documents requested. Thanks everyone @justwise

Just so you do not feel ignored, I do not have knowledge of your questions. If you don’t get responses, it might be that perhaps, no one has. You could try sending justwise a mail via Nairaland.

Hello Guys,

I had my biometrics on the 11th of last month at Abuja for a spousal visa which is supposed to take 15 WD for a decision to be made.
Today is the 16th day, do I need to send a paid email or do you guys sugest I still hold on a little?
What type of spousal visa is it? Because spousal visas usually take 120 working days. Except for family members of EU.
However, if you expect a decision by 15WD, you can send a paid email, so you can know if a decision has been made or it’s still under consideration. It’ll bring some peace of mind.

Wow my husband is an EU citizen who has indefinite leave to remain in the Uk,I met an immigration lawyer here in the Uk who told me to go back to Nigeria to apply because I’m here in the Uk with visiting visa and I’m paying for the spousal visa fee and IHS which is almost £3000. Which category of spouse visa did you apply for And the lawyer told me that IELTs exam is compulsory

If your husband is an EU citizen, I doubt you need to pay any of the fees , depending on if he moved to the Uk before a certain year. You will apply as a family member of an EU citizen. I don’t know the full details but someone explained it on this platform a while back. You can also do your research. You can go through this link as well. https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families/eligibility

Thanks so much.

Started with normal confirmation of bio questions

- When did you meet?

- What was your first date like?

- Where does your partner work? Job title? When was she employed? How much does she earn?
Oh, yes it does… very much, thank you.
- Why have you not met all these years?

- Do you want to continue your Nigerian career path here in UK?

I said I was more interested in settling with my family as the distance is hurting our son and our ability to grow the family, and I know the fiancé visa doesn't allow me work.

- Do you have any other child? Does she have any other child? (No responses)

- have you ever been married? (No responses)

They asked my fiancé very similar questions.

Hope this helps

Yes, it does. Thank you

Oh wow ok!! I have so many questions dunno where to start. What does the uk consider “suitable accomodation” in the uk? @Eastner
From my own understanding, it means the sponsor is able to provide accommodation without access to public funds, with evidence such as tenancy agreement if rented or mortgage papers if owned. And if sharing accommodation with other people, that there is adequate space exclusive to both husband and wife.

I did mine in June & also received a similar mail on the same date. It’s for spousal visa…It appears the others who receive theirs early are, as dependents for study or work visa. They won’t need to write IELTS as dependents, I suppose.

Hello, you upload your documents after choosing the TLS center you wish to have the biometrics done. You select if you prefer self upload or the assisted option. Once you’ve selected the option you want, available dates will pop out . If you decide on self upload after picking the date, it takes you to where you can upload your documents. Ensure it’s in pdf format

Okay so, not going to bore you with how it started but a few things to add to everything.

We got married in September in Abeokuta 2021. And I came back to the UK early October.

(1) She did change of name and applied for her passport (Got that at Festac?) sorry not good with names/places in Nigeria.

(2) TB appt was booked for 26th of October after going directly there, and paid one of the staff to book her because we just couldn’t get anything online.

(3) Passport came out on the 25th of October after she begged and begged the staffs.

(4) When he booked the TB we needed her passport number but because she didn’t have one I called my mother and put HER passport number in the bookings, because without a passport they wouldn’t allow you to book it. And thanks to GOD they didn’t notice this. So when she received her passport she just stay over in Lagos and took it to the TB place the next day.

(5) Booked for her English test for 3rd of December (Result came out on the 17th online as passed) - Awaiting certificate.

(6) Application processed by myself over here in the UK
- Documents
A. My UK passport, UK drivers licence, my NHS work contract, my previous job contract (Both showing how much I earn per annum), my house deed, my mortgage statement, my divorce papers, my payslips, my Halifax statement of account (I highlight every single money that was paid by my employers in yellow, which matches each dated payslips) all these covering a 2 years period (Because I moved jobs in September and was paid more than my period job).

B. She provided her passport, TB certificate, and English language test result, Wedding certificate, pictures of when we met in early 2019 and wedding pictures, WhatsApp chat taken from archives from early 2019 up until the application date.

(7) Booked Biometrics for the 11th of Jan 2021

(cool Biometrics missed because we didn’t have the certificate. TLS refused to complete this without the actual certificate, DLH left her certificate on their desk in Abeokuta from the 17th of December until she made a complaint in Lagos when she went there on the day that TLS refused the biometrics.

(9) DLH delivered the next day after 1000 apologies to her for missing her bio.

(10) Bio rebooked for the 28th of Jan AFTER paying some guy that was standing around outside TLS as the TLS staff were unhelpful.

(11) Biometrics done of the 28th of Jan.
(12) Transferred to DMC on the same day and received - 3 greens on the tracker.
(13) Paid email sent in end of Feb by me, was told decision would be early Mid March by a staff named Tanya.
(14) 15th of March second paid email - Told by a staff called Simon that no decision yet. But since ours was settlement it is usually 12 weeks (Which means end of April)
(15) Wife received an email 11th of May to say “60WD is now 120WD” due to the Ukrainian crisis.
(16) Next day I filed a complaint via gov.Uk (The link I found it on this forum).
(17) Tracking everyday but nothing - 3 green lines.
(18) 26th of May - Email received from TLS for collection.
(19) Wife picked up her “Partner visa” to expired Feb 2025.
(20) Received an email from the complaint side saying they have contacted my wife.

I think this was the timeline that I can remember right now. Prior to this I or my wife knew NOTHING about immigration/visas or how to do an application. I found this forum AFTER we put in our application. But this forum has been very helpful and it has been an eye opener.

I highlighted everything that I uploaded on the TLS document website, and they kept her passport. Hopefully she would be here in the next 2 months when she has sort out everything in Ijebu ode where she currently resides.

Such a relief for you that the waiting is over. Thanks a lot for the breakdown. Please can you share the link for the complaint via gov.uk?

And this was how i did it..
I took screenshots of our conversations going 2yrs back..i took about 10 per month. Transferred them to my laptop.i then created a landscape view using microsoft word and drew 5rows and 5colunms per page and then inserted d chats into them giving me 50 pages for 2yrs chats...my hubby printed them in d uk with coloured printed and it worked for us just fine.
Ive attached a sample picture ..mine was 10pictures per mnth though..d pic i sent is 5pics per mnth but u get d drift

Does anyone know how to do this? I’ve been trying to get the same no of rows and columns to no avail. Please help. Thanks

Personal experience here, I made the payment for my wife’s app in the UK, but am sure there are others who knows about paying for it in Nigeria without any issues.

Yes the fees are in dollars not pounds, it’s rough $4700 which was around £3700 when we made the payment.

The application fee was 2125 dollars, the IHS was around 2612.13 dollars.

Thanks a lot, it does help.

Hello All, I’m planning on applying in June. I will like to ask if anyone has made payment for the fees from Nigeria and how they were able to? Also, I’ve read in previous post, that the amounts are shown in dollar and not pounds when making the payment. Please, what is the dollar equivalent for the IHS and Visa fee? on the portal? And how much is the extra charges added when paying. As I intend to change naira to dollars and put in my domicillary account, then transfer to the card account, once it transferred, I cannot transfer it back to my dollar account.
I will prefer a seamless way of paying with no issues.
