Lol! So assuming PDP candidate (Atiku, Lamido or who ever gets 34% in the north, what percentage do you think he'd have to get in the south to secure a victory over PMB? Mind you GEJ was having 90%+ in the south in 2015, yet he was defeated. What you need to consider is number of registered voters in every zone/state. |

AtbuAbdul: This is our ATBU! My Alma mata. The frustration is too much. I am Graduate of Civil Engineering (2005 to 2011) from the University. The school is known for its high standards that impact negatively on the life of her students, both as an undergraduate and after graduation. this is a school when admitted into, you can't exactly tell when you'll Graduate we used to refer to our expected date of graduation as (5yrs + X), X being unknown not as a result of the normal delay from ASUU strikes which affect every other uni but due to the fact that when you get into the University there are a lot factors that will frustrate you from graduating within the normal duration. Like myself, I spent 6yrs for a 5yr course and that's is even because I didn't have any personal problem to give me extra yrs in school. this is a school where almost all your courses are requisite or prerequisite to other courses. That is, if you dare fail one you automatically get an extra yr some chain could span from 200l till 500l. e.g if one fail CE211 you can't register CE222 until you pass it. Failing CE222 would prevent you from registering CE311 and CE311 to CE321 and it goes on like that till 500l. this is a uni that only few exceptional and lucky students get to raise their CGPAs it always seemed as if you are dragging something with your lecturers, from how mean they are in making assessments of you either in tests or exams. This is a school that withdraw students who can't get up to 0.25 GPA in their 1st semester or 1.00 in subsequent semesters and you still get to hear about 300-600 students being withdrawn every session. I remember vividly the NUC rating either of 2006 or 2007 which placed the school 5th overall best uni in Nigeria but with the best Engineering, a report that rightly advise parents to watch the kind of uni they send their wards to because of how bad the students' results they saw displayed in every department in ATBU were. I can't forget in a hurry how my 1st CGPA of 3.76/5.00 crumbled b4 my very eyes. From 3.76 to 3.66 to 3.58 to 3.36 to ...., It went on and on and on until I finally graduated with 3.13. It was really frustrating. It got to a point that all I wanted is just how I would graduate and not what I graduate with. ATBU is the only uni that withdraw students on academic grounds and these students would go to other uni and graduate with 2.1 or 2.2 or some times with nearly 1st class it's only in ATBU students get carry over in IT or even in final year project you will student doing IT twice or a student spilling because of project. You can count the no of 1st class graduating students every year -not more than 10 from the entire uni. My Dept, civil engineering has never produced any 1st class since the official inception of the school in 1980. some lecturers would tell you 'A' is 4 God, 'B' is 4 him and the extraordinary students and 'C'... is for others they tell you they are training you for the future when in actuality they are ruining your future. Because how do you even compete favourably with graduates from other uni in the labour market when they are coming with CGPAs of at least 2.1 when you are presenting mostly 2.2 and 3rd class or even pass? So, all these and more are enough to get students frustrated and depressed which most times result to self-withdrawal from the school or even make them nurse suicide. It was only faith in God and His mercy that saw us through successfully. We used to call the school ATomic Bomb University (ATBU).
So, something really need to be done raise the standard of the University in a way that would make but not mar the future of the students. ATBU is a useless University. I spent 7years to get a degree am yet to make anything meaningful it of. |

6pax: it is very difficult to compare both because rivers is way richer. however, both of them have similar style though rochas is way flamboyant while amaechi prefere to be much more reserved. checkout both performance in education, health, infrastructure, etc....they often set a target and work to beat it. do you know that IMO state is the only state that tertiary education is free. the States government pay as much as N100,000 per students per year to implement the free education scheme. forget the exaggeration of rochas owing salaries it is just been blown out of proportion That's good to hear. But Kwankwaso also implemented the free education policy, and female students in Jigawa never pay any tuition fee either. Well may be Rochas and Ameachi shall slug it out at the primaries. Either of the two will definitely defeat any PDP candidate. |

If I may ask what scores can you give both Rochas and Ameachi in terms of performance? Also Rochas has been owing workers salary. To me there's no excuse for that. |

Hello Everyone, With the rejuvenation of PMB's health condition, and his renewed interest in governance, it is strongly clear he could contest re-election in 2019. Of course he stands to win barring any major change, but that's topic for another day. What's interesting to me now is who gets to succeed PMB in 2023? For obvious reasons (s)he has to come from the southern part of the country. OBJ's 8years and GEJ's 6years are enough to qualify SE to produce the next candidate, but unfortunately the candidate strong and popular enough in APC to achieve that. They couldn't even produce a Senate President because they don't even have a senator. The most popular APC chieftain is Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha, unfortunately for him as well he hasn't done anything remarkable in Imo state to show the rest of the country. Unless by then may be Nigerians fancy statues of heads of states as dividends of democracy. As a compromise, the ticket nay be zoned to the SS, after all GEJ only served for 6years. Another point is that the region has been supporting the rest of the country with its petrodollars for decades. Rotimi Ameachi being an Ekwerre (basically an Igbo man) from Rivers State will fulfill most of these conditions. Noteworthy is his impressive performance as a governor of Rivers State and his national appeal. His candidature will also give a blow to the cry of marginalization and secession. In Summary 1. He's from SS 2. He's Igbo 3. He was a performing governor
What do you think about my projection? do you think anybody from the south has better odds against him? Thank you for reading. Maclatunji Mynd44 Omenka michealsokoto tonyebarcanista winret quotasystem....etc what do you guys think? |
