Politics / Re: How Accurate Is Nigeria’s Population? by EazyMoh(m): 8:20am On Sep 11
Simply population density.
For example Enugu and Kano have similar population density 426 and 442 people per square kilometer, respectively. This therefore means if Enugu is as big as Kano state it will have about the same population and vice versa.

Likewise if Lagos was as big as Kano state, with its population density of 2,607 people per square kilometer, Lagos population alone would be over 52million people. On the other hand if Kano was as small as Lagos it would have a population of only 1.5million!

Population = Population Density X Land Mass

Southern states have higher population density while northern states have higher land mass

Another example if Katsina State was as small as Imo state it would have a population of just 1.3million people.

If Borno State were to have Population density of Anambra it (Borno State) would have a population of 61.5million people

Therefore the appearance of 'emptiness' due to sparse population is more than made up by the very large land mass of the northern states.

I hope your post is for educational purposes.

Foreign Affairs / This Is The First US Election Since 1976 Without A Biden, Bush Or Clinton by EazyMoh(m): 8:02am On Jul 25
Americans won’t see a candidate named Biden, Bush or Clinton on the ballot this November. The last time that happened was 1976 — America’s bicentennial.

1980: JIMMY CARTER VS. RONALD REAGAN
The election of 1980 kicked off the Biden-Bush-Clinton trend in presidential races. For the Republicans: Ronald Reagan was the presidential nominee, and George H.W. Bush was picked as his running mate. For the Democrats: The incumbent, Jimmy Carter, stayed with Walter Mondale. Reagan and Bush won the election with 489 electoral votes.

1984: WALTER MONDALE VS. RONALD REAGAN
For the Republicans: Another Ronald Reagan-George H.W. Bush ticket. For the Democrats: Walter Mondale selected Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman vice presidential candidate for a major political party. With 525 electoral votes, Reagan secured his second term.

1988: GEORGE H.W. BUSH VS. MICHAEL DUKAKIS
For the Republicans: After serving eight years as vice president, George H.W. Bush became the party’s nominee and selected Dan Quayle as his running mate. For the Democrats: Michael Dukakis picked Sen. Lloyd Bentsen of Texas as his running mate. Republicans kept control of the White House after Bush won 426 electoral votes.

1992: GEORGE H.W. BUSH VS. BILL CLINTON
The Clintons enter the chat.
For the Republicans: George H.W. Bush campaigned for his second term, again with Dan Quayle as his running mate. For the Democrats: Bill Clinton selected Albert Gore as his vice presidential running mate. Democrats regained the White House, with Clinton winning 370 electoral votes.

1996: BILL CLINTON VS. ROBERT DOLE
For the first time in 20 years, George H.W. Bush is absent from the Republican ticket. For the Republicans: Robert Dole was the presidential nominee and selected Jack Kemp as his running mate. For the Democrats: Clinton ran for a second term, again with Gore. Clinton won with 379 electoral votes.

2000: GEORGE W. BUSH VS. AL GORE
A new generation of Bushes enters national politics. For the Republicans: George W. Bush threw his hat in the ring, with Richard Cheney as his running mate. For the Democrats: Al Gore was the presidential nominee, and Joseph Lieberman was Gore’s VP pick. Bush lost the popular vote in this highly contested election, but it was ultimately decided that he should get Florida’s 25 electoral votes, and he became president.

2004: GEORGE W. BUSH VS. JOHN KERRY
For the Republicans: George W. Bush ran again alongside Cheney. For the Democrats: The party nominated two people new to the ticket, John Kerry and John Edwards. This time around, Bush won both the popular and electoral vote.

2008: JOHN MCCAIN VS. BARACK OBAMA
Joseph Biden first ran for president in 1988, but in 2008 he officially made the ticket. For the Republicans: Sen. John McCain of Arizona chose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. For the Democrats: Barack Obama selected Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware as his running mate. Obama became the first Black U.S. president after winning 365 electoral votes.

2012: BARACK OBAMA VS. MITT ROMNEY
For the Republicans: Mitt Romney became the presidential nominee, and Paul Ryan was his running mate. For the Democrats: Obama and Biden appeared together again on the ticket. With 332 electoral votes, Obama kept the White House.

2016: HILLARY CLINTON VS. DONALD TRUMP
For the Republicans: Real estate mogul Donald J. Trump became the presidential nominee, and Mike Pence was his vice presidential pick. For the Democrats: Hillary Clinton, a former secretary of state and a former U.S. senator from New York, ran alongside Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia. Republicans again controlled the White House after Trump won 306 electoral votes.

2020: JOSEPH BIDEN VS. DONALD TRUMP
For the Republicans: Trump campaigned for his second term, with Pence as his VP. For the Democrats: Joseph Biden was the presidential nominee, and he selected Kamala Harris as his running mate. Winning 306 electoral votes, Biden became president, and Harris made history as the first woman vice president.

2024: DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE YET TO BE DECIDED, WILL RUN AGAINST TRUMP For the Republicans: Trump selected Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate. If elected, Vance would be one of the youngest vice presidents in U.S. history. For the Democrats: Biden dropped out of the race July 21 and threw his support behind his vice president, Harris.

If they are banking on the patronage of Nigerians, then they are not serious. How many Nigerians can afford brand new vehicles? Few Nigerians that can will prefer to buy Tokunbo luxury brands.

If your business is not targeted at the many in Nigeria, then you are already doomed to fail.
Their main target is just government patronage and Grant's issued to the industry from time to time.
Except may be for Dangote whose assembled vehicles are directly absorbed by his companies .

Armaggedon:
if you are thinking properly you will know you just proved his point. Divorce rate is high in the North unknown to many. If they are entitled to nothing upon divorce, it makes property ownership in their own name more plausible.
How many women in the North have any source of income that would enable them buy properties in such a proportion as to 20 times their southern counterparts?
We are talking about the poorest region in the country for that matter.
The
Major reason is inheritance pattern which is in stark contrast. This why the rate in SS is more than 5 times that of SE even though the "divorce rate" of these 2 regions are very similar. Why is their result such different?
The ONLY major difference between SS and SE is the strict enforcement of the culture banning female inheritance of landed properties.
Period
Properties / Re: Statistics Of Women Per Region Who Own A House With Title In Nigeria by EazyMoh(m): 7:34am On Nov 12, 2023
PHIPEX:
There is a close relationship between this stats and Divorce rate. The higher the divorce rate, the higher the potential for a woman to own a property IN HER OWN NAME. Why should my wife own a property in her own name if we are happily married, the least is co-ownership of property between the husband and the wife.

It also relates to the high rate of polygamy, women have higher tendency to own property in their own name if the husband is polygamous. In that case each wife tries to secure the future of their own children. Statistically, South East is least in polygamy in Nigeria because of the influence of Christianity, so their women will be the least in owning landed property in their own names.
A divorcee in the north doesn't get one inch of her ex husband's property after divorce. She just carrys whatever she came with.
So your point of divorce falls flat!
Also the issue of polygamy, how many people (women) have money to by property in the poorest sections of the country?
The obvious answer is inheritance.
A woman in the north (especially Muslim North) inherits land from her father, husband, brother, mother, sister, .... etc.
Whereas in contrast ita totally opposite in say SE.

Localemperor:
Looking at the data, it's clearly means that it's has less to do with education and wealth and has move to do with culture of inheritance. In the South East it is assume that a woman would marry and join a new family where her male children can inherit her husband's landed property and pass it down to their male sons till infinity. This is not to say women can not buy lands in their names, they could if they want, but they did prefer to do that in their sons or husbands name.

The situation in the North is a direct opposite, female can inherit landed properties in her name and pass it down to who ever she pleased. This is not to say that one is better than the other, but culture has played a great part on both divide.

The lands that was passed to me by my father, was cultivated by my grandfather and the father before him, of which my sons and their male sons would lord over till the end of time.

Igbos are territorial in nature and are ready to go to war, to the last man over a territory. After all, a man bows to no one except his chi, it is a good cause to die for. Many had died for less.

A daughter is nothing less than a son. She should also inherit a part of her father.
Ok what if you only have female children? Your legacy then becomes terminated?

Hopefully these our half-baked "educated" youth will understand more.
I am scared and shocked at how simple information is grossly misunderstood for a supposed educated and enlightened people.
The key factor there is population density. Because SE is the most densely populated area, every statiatical index taken will ALWAYS be higher per square area. Poor, rich, educated, illiterate, everything.
At least this calculation above proved that although it has the highest density of poor people per square mile, it still has the least total number of poor people in total.

Shekarau is APC by association,he was part of the then Anpp which became one of the legacy parties that formed APC......his sojourn back to PDP was a misadventure from the start as he holds strong allegiance to Buhari and his Anpp stock and atiku doesn't even come close as they are very ideologically different.

Shekarau is a very noble politician and one of the least corrupt ones you have out there........his moving to PDP was just a face saving measure to distinct himself from his arch rival kwankwanso who was the Lord of the manor,Alfa and omega in nnpp........APC on the other hand was also a no no for him due to his differences with ganduje,so PDP was the only viable party he could move to so as to still keep his political relevance.
If he had the balls he could have joined a different party just like Kwankwaso and Peter Obi did.
