Rolandq:I will update Ciello. I couldn't post for some days because of the anti spambot Thanks for reading Ciello |
Dollywood:I have replied your email. |
Surcy310:Inter-university transfer is mostly common in Private and State Universities. State Universities that do it are: UNIMED, Ondo DELSU ABSU |
Rolandq:Nairaland disorganise WhatsApp links. Send me a PM |
Rolandq:No it won't affect the scores since it has been calculated and you still have a high aggregate score. Just be rest assured and keep fingers crossed As for the reduction in candidates' mark, that's based on the discretion of the school management There is a WhatsApp group for MBBS aspirants. I can add you to the group |
Rolandq:Yes, the 5 marks is intentional and unlike last year that UTME was 70% and O'level 30% Your aggregate is quite good enough. Congratulations in advance Did you use two sittings? |
Rolandq:Hello I believe you must have seen your aggregate by now |
BlaqFaze:MLS uses the CGPA system |
Rolandq:Okay. Wish you the very best! |
Rolandq:You are right. That's how it was used last year Have you bought the form? |
Zico5:FUTA admission is transparent, at least for Medicine I can say that because I know the nitty gritty of the MBBS admission. FUTA admission is purely based on merit, catchment areas and ELDS. There is nothing like VC list, Professors' list, important personalities' list here. You might have said this as a result of your experience with some schools. But you can't just judge every school that way. FUTA admission process is transparent to a reasonable extent. If you are still not satisfied with my reply, you can make your findings. The only problem is just the small number of people that are admitted yearly which is not up to 50. |
Rolandq:Don't listen to what anyone has to say. Follow your heart |
Rolandq:Using last year modality, your aggregate is 79.92. This is good enough to secure you admission. Though I don't know how it is calculated for two sittings. Aggregate is calculated thus: A1 - 80, B2 - 72, B3 - 67, C4 - 62, C5 - 57, C6 - 52 O'level score = Total/5 O'level screening result = O'level score/100 × 30 UTME screening result = UTME score/400 × 70 Aggregate = O'level screening result + UTME screening result |
Rolandq:I had 318 in UTME and 88/100 in the Post UTME. FUTA will be using screening this year. You have a very good Jamb score. How is your O'level result like? |
Rolandq:My experience in FUTA medical school has been awesome and quite interesting. They are moving at a fast pace in becoming a recognised medical school. The school has not stopped working in ensuring that MBBS get full accreditation soon. That's what I can say for now. Regarding admission, it is not that easy to get Medicine in FUTA. During my time, about 2617 people applied but only 45 students were picked. Even during the 2021 set, only 23 students were picked and only about 25 students were picked during the 2022 set. This is not to scare you but to let you know that medicine is not easy to get anywhere. Nothing is impossible to achieve as long as you put your mind to it. |
Rolandq:Second year |
Rolandq:Hi |
Clinton39:For Gross Anatomy, at first I was using Keith Moore Clinically oriented anatomy but I noticed that I spent gruesome hours on a chapter and lectures in class are moving at a fast pace. Nobody told me I had to work with time when the workloads keep piling up. Then I switched to BD Chaurasia. It is well outlined, straight to the point and detailed but it is lacking in the clinical correlations aspect. Knowing the clinical correlations is very important as medical students as all our knowledge tends towards the clinical practice. This is what distinguished us from Anatomy students. Then I found another textbook "Vishram Singh". This textbook is very good and it is my major textbook though I check Keith Moore and other textbooks for reference For Embryology, Either Langman by Sadler or Developing Human by Keith Moore is better. Sadler is precise and straight to the point but if you really want to know your stuff very well, go for Developing Human. For Histology, I prefer Junqueira compared to Indebir Singh For Physiology, use Sembuligam. It is well outlined and straight to the point. But for hyperstuff, use Guyton though it is not well outlined and might be difficult to read at first. For Biochemistry, stick to your lecturers' slides. Vasudevan is okay though people talk of Satayarana that it is good too. Harper's illustrated biochemistry is good too but might be difficult to read as a starter |
Clinton39:Start reading from now especially Gross Anatomy. Once you resume and start lectures, it becomes more difficult. Also know that time is never enough in Pre-clinicals. Study, study and study. Know what works best for you and know what your lecturers want. Your classmates might be killing themselves with Keith Moore whereas it might be Chaurasia you like. Above all, don't be a lone ranger. Join study groups or have classmates you study together with. Learn from mistakes of your seniors. Ask your seniors questions. Medical school is not about hard work only, it is about smart work too. |
