I'm scared time is not on my side lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
I'm 21

If you are thinking that age is not on your side. Age is still very much on your side. In medical school, you will see people in their thirties coming back for Medicine. I even have one as a coursemate. By the time you enter, you won't even have the time to think about your age because you will be carried away with Medicine.

Unilag just released cut off mark...guess what, I'm 1.875 below catchment... just feel like dying it's just like everything is against me, I actually prepared really hard for this exam but luck wasn't on my side... I'm really depressed and down
Had 285 in jamb, 26.25 in putme and 16 in Olevel 1.875 just destroyed everything I've worked for.... cry cry cry

Sorry about this. That's so close. You have two options. It is either you wait and let Unilag offer you another course (this is if you want Unilag at all costs....lol) and accept the course and prepare for another UTME next year OR you do change of institution to a University whose Post UTME form is not yet out. Many Universities have not released their Post UTME forms. Just make sure you make findings on these schools. Also, don't forget to play your cards well if you are changing to another University.
I wish you the very best.

Hey man, with all due respect to my person and every honourable member of this thread, I will not tow this path of yours. A path that is uncouth, puerile and infantile. I'm not a pig that will want to swim in this cesspit of yours.

It's baffling to me with great astonishment how some soon to be or prospective medical doctor wouldn't know how to contend an argument with facts and empiricism. If there is a contrary opinion to yours, all you have to do is debunk it with superior facts and argumentation exhibiting respect and courtesy to your opposing colleague. Countering a fact is not with emotion and sentiment or with character assassination; please note.

You brought the qualifications of my humble self to the fore, with a kind of mischievous disposition. For your information and that of Mr. Mandeyy, I graduated from the prestigious University of Ibadan College of Medicine with a second class upper division in Human Physiology, and presently a medical student in same mentioned college. You can corroborate this ascertions of my mine from two of the most distinguished members of this thread Mr. Hopeyemmi66 and Mr. Eben331, that is if your doubt is in the same wavelength like Jesus's disciple, Thomas.

As a good practising Christian, I will keep hoping for your improvement both in life at large and in your prospective medical career in particular. Hoping that you stop acting and throwing tantrums like my three years old nephew when denied one of his most precious candy.

Boss, boss.

That's true, the truth is that everyone is here for the money.

Not everyone is studying or wants to MBBS/BDS because of the money. There are other reasons like job security, easy employment, passion, to mention a few

FPCPharm NPAPharm soon we would start clamoring over PhD equality, Lol.

I guess the Faculty won't even allow it.

Only Pharmacy Lecture Clinical Pharmacy and all of them with PhD and journals all over.

Lol pick up a JAMB form for a pharmacy course, because they don't even do DE.

Lol

All courses are good. Don't start unnecessary beefing and comparison.

You like Pharmacy, fine. We, that like MBBS/BDS, fine

You don't have to tell him to take up a JAMB form just to pass across your comments.

Besides, he is not someone that needs such.

Just see the problem, I must say it blatantly that you sir, are just feeling inferior. This was your same problem when you were in Dentistry. You said the guy is a jambite, so why waste your time juggling insults and arguments with him. You're far bigger than this.
You rightly said that any institution accredited by MDCN is qualified to train efficient doctors, you just should have stopped there. Why dabble into all this mess?
I for one know some EBSU medical students and graduates and they're quite great. I cannot begin to argue which med school is better than which. It all boils down to the individual student's input to make him/herself at par with his/her medical counterparts both locally and worldwide. We saw Boss Lomaxx distinguish himself as a medic par excellence here on this thread even though he went to UNIUYO ( prior to knowing him, I couldn't have concluded that UNIUYO was damn good). Same goes for the other schools. EBSU is good, UI is good, abeg make we leave am like that boss.. Med school, let alone the country is just too hard for one to be engaging in all these.

I do not mean to insult your personality chief, I just want you to learn to stir from all these arguments that makes the thread's page go lenghty for nothing. The two of you arguing for 2 pages now haven't made any difference..
Pls don't bother coming after me, cos I won't respond.

SHALOM ❤️

You said it all.
It mostly depends on individuals.
The kind of doctor you want to be depends on YOU
All these comparisons are not necessary.

I was hoping that one day I would give my testimony on this thread. I got my 5-year visa grant yesterday for a PhD in Medicine at the University of New South Wales. Applied Feb 3, 2021 and it has been 3+ interesting months. I did it all by myself because of the experiences shared on this thread - I started from the very beginning and read every page. This is me saying thank you to everyone that shared their stories.

Now we wait for the borders to open.

Congratulations Dr

That the school is new is even an added 'incentive" to defer.

That extra two years on Geophysics would settle things at your Medical school to extent.
It's a win-win if you defer though.

But e get as Medicine dey use shark person, e no dey your eyes to defer am.

Thank you
May God help me make the right decision.

Why did you apply for MBBS in the first place knowing fully well you'll soon be in 300 Level in another course? That should do it

Defer your Medicine admission and complete your Geophysics since you're almost at the end of the program. Then when you're done, you pick up your Medicine back

I am thinking on the expenses on school fees and other dues that I will spend in 300l till graduation and other factors.

Rather than doing that, why can't I just spend the money on Medicine.

Albeit, I am at the same time scared of not wasting those money I spent in 100l and 200l

I am really in a tight corner on what to do.
Education / Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Eben331: 7:43am On Aug 14, 2021
Good day medical students and doctors.

I just gained admission to study Medicine and Surgery in a Federal University in South West. Though they just started the Medicine programme in the school which implies they haven't gained full accreditation from MDCN but all efforts are ongoing to get this done. I am currently a 300 level student of Geophysics in one of the State Universities. I will be resuming 300l by September

I had been contemplating whether to switch over to MBBS or obtain the Geophysics degree first.

What is your take on this?

Never despise the days of little beginning.

Above was my early post on this thread as an aspirant 7 years ago. I officially bagged MBBS Ibadan today by God's grace.
Thanks for the guidance provided. I found a family here
I had no As in WAEC. I started with 251,245 and then 283 in Jamb by 2013. It was difficult getting admission but I kept on working hard and praying. I got admitted into EKSU, OAU, UI for medicine and surgery.
A story of determination, hard work, good support network and of course grace of God.

You can do it guys . Never allow anyone talk you down on your dreams. If you fail at different attempts, strategize again and up your game. You are unstoppable

Congratulations doctor
