I met an Etche man sometime ago in Yenagoa. He needed a favor from me and he identified himself as Igbo from Etche. Somehow I could tell from his countenance that he didn't really believe I would accept him as an Igbo man... Probably because of the continuous denial they're known for. Truth is most times when they're in foreign territory, they choose to identify as Igbos because it serves their interest and gives them a sense of belonging.
