No body can loose in this deal really. A large section of imo state I would assume are accostomed to borehole water. so if the commpany sells at exorbitant prices, then they would have to drink the water themselves. The only people that would feel the effect negatively are the borehole business people. But overall it would be good to have pipe borne water to homes in Imo state. The borehole people can always find other business. |
Why a mass in a hostile nation like Britain. Wonders shall never end. |
Their claim that most Nigerians live by less than one dollar a day, is nothing less than a statistical fallacy. Yes poverty is a serious problem, but the picture that this stat paints is that of starving people. I don't know any people that were starving when I was Nigeria. No doubt there might be people living in extreme conditions in Nigeria, but that is not a mainstream situation. Believe it or not Nigerian made life basics are cheap where they should be. It is usually imported goods or goods that are dependent on imported materials that add to price. If more than 50 percent of Nigerians live on subsistence farming, how can you then say they are literally starving. I know how this argument looks; like I am trying to save face, but I'm not. Should things get better, yes they damn straight should, but I smell malevolence in their simplistic approach to this subject. Food cost 130 or what not a plate if you go to restraurants in bigger cities. In the rural area, most cook their own food and it definitely doesn't cost them that much. Health care, power, and most other public amenities are in comatose, yes even Nigerians would be the first to tell you that. Things might get as bad as they say if we suffer severe drought like in east Africa now. But then this is because African leaders have failed to protect their buying power and allowed their currencies to become useless. In summary, this claim by most people is a statistical fallacy. This is not to say Nigerians are not suffering, but I don't think we are starving which is exactly the picture this is painting. Quality of life is better measured by food availability, shelter and purchasing power. Nigeria lags in all of the following but it is not as bad as the implied meaning of less than one dollar a day. In most of the countries where this news are spread, you can't cook a meal with less than 30 dollars. We are going through a rough patch but these foreign media should shut their sinister holes. |
Everybody talking left and right. We shall see who go stand like man and who go hide by his mama's backside. Zionist movement my foot. Which Zion are they even talking about. |
They still think they are talking to kids |
We want a peaceful breakup, or a very weak center. |
why are africans always offended when confronted with the truth? now they go reverse racist without even proving anything wrong show me a tunnel in africa designed and built by an african
Dude dont you know that there has to be a suitable environment, if you want to encourage innovation and invention. Nigeria for example is still blindly following british colonial law + laws made by terrorist military rulers like IBB and Abacha. Now when we try to create this environment for ourselves, they send terrorists, economic terrorists, saboteurs, assassins etc like the likes of boko, okonjo iweala, Military infilterators and so on. We fight but we cant really win this war with fierce violence. All over the ministries in Nigeria, they place monetry requirements, instead of simple safety and staandard requirements. Now you need to be rich to be able to apply yourself and look into invention. I put it to you that you need access to your raw materials to be able to invent. There is the need to have the minimum requirement to start a research. That minimum requirement is not available to most in most African states. There have been numerous inventors in Nigeria who had to go outside the country to make manifest their science into technology. You shouldn't just listen to a lazy idiot just because he can afford to fly a plane. You have to agree that he owned you because obviously owned you because you have never spent time to think about the situation in Africa and why simple things seem difficult. He just convinced you that you and your people are all idiots and you agreed with the fo@ol. You are on you own fo@ol. |
@poster First it is intellectually lazy for you to allow a drunken skinhead own you just like he did right there. You couldn't give him one for the boys. That dude just used you to urge himself on. You see to him that's the way he sees it. You have to know that you know better on this case. |
The UK is a breeding place for islamist terorists. Even Nigeria's own underwear bomber is partly a product of their school of thought. A lot of the nabbed terrorists have a history with the UK. |
We see what prevails in this bruha, light or darkness. The darkest people love to hide in darkness. Nigeria is providing the darkness they need to perpetuate their evil acts. For we know the sons of the devils, cowards, they attack from the back. We shall see if their God is really the almighty chukwu or some invented devilish slowpoke, by the most weakest of men. |
How about this. Default on this loans and give them the middle finger. These would reduce or eliminate the ability of Nigeria to borrow money in the nearest future, which to me is a very desired outcome. A situation where a governor can borrow billions of naira that the state doesn't have, for a fictitious project is quite alarming. My solution is, if you can't afford to do it now, don't do it. Live within your means. Default is my answer. |
Agents of both the government and oppositions for their criminal identities. |
All the people that refuse to condemn evil even when it is biting them in the a-ss |
how can bbc and cnn demand anything, who the fvck are they. I don't know why the army was sent to lagos but pls stop giving audience to western propagada machines. |
when they arrest these people shouldn't their identities be made public. We should at least see the face of the rams that have caused us so much pain. They should deal with this deluded rams quick because patients and hope is never limitless. These boko fools are asking for war. Like their fellow jihadist fools, they bring more suffering to the innocent people they claim to represent. The communities are not doing enough to fish these people out. Enough to religious fanatism in the North. It should be a crime to incite violence in any way of form. Arrest and persecute the heads and financiers of boko haram, cut diplomatic ties with any countries suspected of backing boko haram. It is not too late now. It may be too late very soon. Nobody is untouchable. |
And let me add it should for those earning below 40,000 a month because I dont understand why govt should subsidise anything for a millionaires. |
Some people and their pessimism. Please how is it done in other climes. If you are going to give people money. They come to you, you dont go to them. When they come you have to make sure they provide enough and convincing proof of their eligibility. This includes proof of age, citizenship etc. When they register once, they cant register again because they must have their finger prints and faceswould be on the computer. This information would be held in a distributed database. Do this instead of another census or silly national id card scheme. |
freepeople:Dude stfu before you and your masters get your ass kicked fucking terrorists. |
Catch them America wannabes someone please tell him that I loathe whatever he is wearing and he should send himself to jail. |
If If is involved then it is a no no. We don't need those morons to give us any advice or orders. If we need to consult people about our economic policies we know where to find the independent ones. Bleep off Imf. Nigeria is not to be bleeped with. |
they should also go and arrest t.b Joshua, oyadepo, pastor oyakilome and pastor Chris. They are all thieves too. Why single out this one. It is the Nigerians that give their money to these religious con men that I pity. |
Dude everybody is monitoring nairaland. Dont say anything you think may put you in trouble here. |
But can't we hunt down these boko cowards ourselves. Maybe we can expedite their meeting with Allah. Why can't we investigate ourselves. Law enforcement is a joke in Nigeria. We can't depend on them. |
What is/was so funny about the bombing? Why was he laughing? Where are these bombers? who are they? Maybe it is time to take laws into our hands? I can't imagine why retardeen and his terrorist friend are so happy. They have to experience the pain personally to feel the pain and anger of the general populace. |
how can you say bombing is a sign of anything silent. It is loud. |
The feed back to the dumb representatives from the Nigerian populace with regards to this bill is huge. We have just given them a pat on the back for debating and legistlating morality. This is the next big thing. Next laws would seek to outlaw adultery and fornication, then they would try to outlaw night clubs and bars, then a dress code laws and before we know it, we are all wearing hijabs. |
mikeansy:I wont be surprised if they do these jesters have a huge fan base. |
mekaboy:Yet another typical African spitting sentimental unprovable gibberish. Please people try to be objective. |
Sentiments - another disease in the mirage of diseases suffered by my fellow country men. Let me start by saying that I blame the foreigners that just couldn't keep their mouths shut. Now they have helped african leaders; who are inherently useless and known for their mental diseases, find a fan base in their poor populace who have no capability to think objectively. What is this talk about culture and religion. What culture and religion are we talking about. Are these the same ones that we all now are foreign to africa and some of our forefathers were forced to adopt? What culture are we talking about because the last time I checked Nigeria has a varied and vastly disparate culture. This is an attack on the civil and human rights of, not only gay people, but the entire Nigerian populace. Wait till it starts to bite you in the as.s. Even your bible (for the christians) say that you reap what you sow. You have sown discrimination for a minority, you would reap discrimination. I trust the Nigerian police to cash in on this. You don't like gays, fine but mind your business. Whilst we at it why don't we ban christianity and islam because they are both un african, cause a lot of rift between communities of both religions, lead to progroms, cause hate crimes, was forced on us, has held us back both politically and economically, is an affront to the decency of the statues of our forefathers. We should also ban english and jeans because they are foreign menace to out society. In fact why don't we form a "sharia like" society where we can tell grown women what to wear. |
Mobinga:what is my business what a full grown man wants to with his joystick unless it directly affects me or another person. So you are in support of a full grown grandpa putting his joystick in a 13 years old girl young enough to be his great grand daughter. Yet you sat stiill and watched him blossom as a senator of your beloved republic. You lots are dispicable beigns. You are probably a superman now, championing a bill to put innocent people in jail, because you know they; most likely, wouldn't bite back. None of these supposed champions of culture, tradition, and religion (including the senators and their sycnophants) have passed or lobbied for any constructive bill to curb the massive deaths, terrorism, and corruption ravaging their beloved republic. |
This people don't know what they are getting themselves into. Time shall tell though. These people say we want to protect our culture and tradition. 1) what culture and tradition, your or mine because the last time I checked we are all Nigerians. 2) saying that gay people can't associate is a complete violation of their human and civil rights guaranteed by the federal government of Nigeria. 3) The only thing the government should be able to do in this case is to say that they do not recognise such unions. 4) Putting them in jail shouldn't even be in the question. 5) Those saying that gayism is a western thing are all wrong, they still face severe discrimination but the difference is that their rights are protected in the constitution. 6) In some states in the US gay marriages are still not recognised. There is a huge difference between not recognising it and putting gays in jail. 7) The bill is wrong and anybody that is capable of reasoning objectively knows that it is. And yeah your stupid religions, cultures and traditions do not matter when it comes to a persons freedom. Reason and learn to live and let live.9) justice can never be selective. Justice is for everybody. Why are you bothered about another person's sexuality? 10) Do you know how your religion, culture, dress sense, mannerism offends others. How would you like to go to jail for not dressing like I do? be careful of what you advocate. |
The Religious leaders are disgrace to themselves and the Gods they represent. How many people did Jesus send to jail. These people don't know their place. Cameron just doomed all ga*y people in West Africa. Any religious leader that praises David mark must be insane. |
