After graduating from Univ in June, I went straight into intensive self study and preparation for the CCNA certificate and passed the exam in October. Prior to this I had interviewed with an ISP to do my national service with them and told them I was on preps for the CCNA so they were very interested in taking me on. By the time I started national service in December, having the CCNA under my belt put me at a skill level which was higher than some of the engineers already in the company. I guess although I didn't have any job experience the skill set and drive to learn made them take me on and eventually offer me a full time role in the company after national service had come to an end. So I guess I had no experience, but I was highly skilled. That's one way to get your foot in the door. Get the certification to demonstrate that in terms of knowledge you are there. You do not need much training and you can hit the ground running once you are given the chance to come on board..

writing ccna at a go is cheaper. I didn't have the full money at once so I decided to break it down.

Wrong. CCNA direct is $295. ICND1 $150 ICND2 $150

So it's basically the same price.

Ebixy I don't think the materials are available for now, Cisco has only given the instructors of Cisco academy. But you can start by studying the previous material.

A quick search on Google can get you a lot. The best book I have come across is Todd lammle.

You can also get excellent tutorials from 9tut.com and the forum there is also very helpful all the best .

Actually am still studying the CompTIA Network books & videos since am new to networking but won't be taking the exams. When am done with CompTIA, i will start with the old material before the new books are released possibly 4th quarter of this year.

Please is there anyone here about to start studying for CCNA? I need someone we can make progress together and "challenge" ourselves. We won't be competing o, just as a form of encouraging each other. Also anyone with the latest CCNA 200-125 cert guide or book can share with me also. Thanks
