Hello Ejiod please is there a way I can directly get in contact with you for guidance in my path on being a data scientist I have been taking some courses but would like to know if I am on track

Check Turing College, Udacity, DataCamp, and Lambda School Data Science curriculum.

It will guide you on what you need to learn to be a data analyst or scientist.

You could have just said they have no interest in it and move on. People go after things they find interesting. You don't see the Nigerian govt encouraging youth in IT field.
The fact that you believe programming to be difficult says a lot about the capacity of your "brain"
Programming is DIFFICULT/HARD. Anyone that says otherwise is just lieing to you. It takes plenty hours of reading and practice to master the skill.

His only crime is making human intelligence a gender thing.

Hi guys, please do we have anyone that is into Amazon web service (AWS) here? I really need a roadmap to learn it.

You can start with free foundational videos on YouTube. Videos that teach on rudiments of cloud computing and AWS platform.

There are also books on it.
Check sanet.st and zlibrary (search it on Google)

I would be starting my journey of becoming a data scientist today. What specification of laptop would I need at most?

Your budget will determine that.
But FOR A START, An average laptop will do the job until you start handling very large data sets or running machine learning models.

Education / Re: Is Graduating With A 2.2 That Bad by ebixy(m): 7:46pm On Jun 16, 2021
It is bad. It will greatly limit the number and type of jobs and scholarships you can apply for.

But if you have IT skills and you can prove yourself, then it wouldn't really matter.

How did you know this? How many interviews have you attended as HR, Candidate or just an audience?

Bro, I'm talking real life here not some text book, movie or lecture scenario. All you need is to be good and have experience to work with any tech company in this world.

Even FAANG companies recruit college dropouts en mass every year.

Real life as a candidate. The degree is like the first thing in the list of requirements. We are talking ratio here, don't cite a few examples here and use it to draw a conclusion.

Don't mislead upcoming programmers. The ratio of tech companies that require a degree for a job far outnumber the ones that don't care about your degree.

I've interviewed with 4 companies since last week and none has required a degree. One of these companies is on Lagos Island.

If you have degree, fine. If you don't, no problem.

STEM kwa? How would knowledge of STEM allow you center a div?

You people need to be calming down.

We are talking about programming in general not just web development or UI/UX.

Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial intelligence, game development etc.

I'm not sure you can get a job in a serious company in those field above without a degree. In those fields, some even require an advanced degree (Msc, PhD). I can show you numerous samples.

Remember I said MANY, I didn't say ALL companies.

Wrong!

Show me one company that doesn't require a degree for employment and I'd show you ten that require a degree.

Some companies go as far as requiring a STEM or numerate degree.

It is not the best decision to quit school to exclusively face programming. It is also true that anatomy as a course has little to no job prospects in Nigeria.

I strongly urge you to apply for admission next year for a STEM-based course. It will build your IQ and make you an even better programmer.
And mind you most companies still require a degree for employment.

I'm sceptical about the prospect of the company too.

Hello All

I am currently doing an udemy course where the instructor is using python 2 while I am using python 3.7 to follow up but I just noticed something....this function pd.read_clipboard() gives error in python 3.7 but it worked very well when the instructor used it in python 2...Pls what is the correct fuction to do this in python 3.7...I want to copy something from a website to my clipboard and print in on pycham using this pd.read_clipboard()...

It is not advisable to be learning with Python 2 in the year 2020. Python 2 will be discontinued this year i.e there would not be official support for it.

There are some differences between Python 2 and Python 3. Get a course that uses Python 3 to teach.

They're scamming you.

Read your meter count yourself, and you'll see what I'm saying.

The bill shows that you consumed 400 kilowatts of electricity in just one month.

That's impossible.
Complete fraud

No R2 residence can consume 150kw a month let alone 400kw

There is no maximum amount of energy that a particular type of customer can consume. Saying no R2 residence can consume 150kWh is totally wrong and out of place.

You didn't ask him the daily availability of electricity and type of gadgets. I have seen single room with hot plate cooking beans almost every day consume more than some flats or bungalows.
