NCNC was founded in 1944, Macaulay died in 1946. The first election NCNC participated came in 1951, 5 years after the death of Macaulay. Do you expect Macaulay wake up and mobilize victory for his party from the grave?. It was therefore the responsibility of Zik being the President of the party to deliver.

Actually consensus candidacy is only possible if all the aspirants step down for that aspirant.

If as much as 1 of the cleared candidates say no, a primary must be held.

The arguenent of Tinubu's camp has always been that every candidate should go to the field and test their popularity amongst the party delegates instead of asking others to step down.

As it seems, a lot of candidates have been relying on a consensus led by the president as they know they can't excel in the primary election which is why we lots of aspirants are taking by force pictures with Buhari.
