CultureRe: Ezechima And Onitsha History By Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe by Ebubu: 7:25am On Oct 10, 2022
we’ve always known onitsha is an extension of benin. even the obi of onitsha dresses like the oba of benin, you can even imagine the similarity in oba and obi.

what i do not know is if they met other people in anambra state, or they were first to settle in anambra and then extended to other towns like awka and the rest?

EducationRe: ASUU :- We Will Suspend The Strike And Continue After 2 Weeks. by Ebubu: 7:10am On Oct 10, 2022
you can’t go on another strike until the final judgement at the Appeal court is delivered based on the terms of the previous strike.

which will be several months cus appeal court will keep postponing judgement until new government is formed
EducationRe: ASUU :- We Will Suspend The Strike And Continue After 2 Weeks. by Ebubu: 7:06am On Oct 10, 2022
it is high time this lawless union is proscribed for the good of Nigeria

they are now a rogue union, no longer in tune with modern times and against the interest of innocent students.

No union is bigger than the nation and Government.

God bless CONUA the saviour of innocent Nigerian students.

God and Federal Government punish ASUU

The will resume classes for few days and resume the strike .
They cannot strike again once they call off, until the current appeal court case which hasn’t finished, is concluded.

and trust appeal court to keep postponing until new government is set up.

Blestedo75:
Well, I am thinking of the after effect of this brouhaha between the Fg and ASUU. Yes, the Fg could be assumed to have won ASUU as a body in court by FORCING them to resume work without in any way talked about their welfare. You know what it means to loose almost a year's income? I know what it means to work with people who are dissatisfied and despaired. Go to the universities and see other unions who called off their strike if they are on ground and work. All l know is that the university system will NEVER be the same again. I pity this country.
others unions that called off the strike are not on ground and working because VCs have not ironed university gates for workers.

What a brilliant piece?! I just learnt a few new words. cheesy

Just as the writer boldly stated, if ASUU dare call off the strike at this time, they are FINISHED.
the writer is a rogue lecturer. i’m sure when ASUU dares the courts and calls their bluff, his absentee-ism from lecture halls will be used as grounds to dismiss him from civil service because FG will urge VCs to open universities for lectures.

The strike just can't be called off like that, they must consult other members,by holding zonal meeting and the rest which is today
any updates from the zonal congresses?

i suspect they are trying to disobey the court order, play silent and watch FG reactions.

what news do u have?
EducationRe: 2 Days After Appeal Court Judgement, ASUU Yet To Call Off Strike by Ebubu(op): 12:29am On Oct 10, 2022
maryjames9:
I fully support FG on this. Signing an agreement you are not going to be able to fulfill is what brought about endless strikes and disruptions In academic calendar all these years in the first place. As ASUU has demostrated it's right to embark on industrial actions, so also FG has demonstrated it's constitutionally given right to deny them of salaries. The court has ruled that ASUU should call of their strikes. Now, we wait patiently for ASUU's next line of action.

If they call of their strikes and return to classes, students will be at the receiving end of Lecturers frustrations. They may decide to start another academic calender and that could mean automatic spill over for all students, God forbid. An hungry man is an angry man. On the other hand, if they do not call off their strikes, the FG will have the power to disband ASUU, arrest their leaders or sack any erring Lecturers. However, the end results, I pray students win at the end of this senseless, selfish struggle between FG and ASUU.
News reaching me is that they are trying to disobey the court order, play silent and watch FG actions.

their leaders are ready to go to jail to attract international sympathy in the face of election.
EducationRe: Fg Vs ASUU by Ebubu:
igonoh you should be arrested for urging ASUU to disobey court of appeal as well as industrial court.

you must be happy hiding your face as well as identity

you ask ASUU to be paid 8 months salary of work not done. since you are old enough to be an employer of labour in private business, do you pay your staff for not coming to work for one full month ? not to mention missing work for 8 months and they’re agitating for pay?

no work no pay is enshrined in our constitution, government is just activating that clause. how can you go on strike for 10 months two years ago, and 8 months this year?

if FG broke their agreements with you, why didn’t you sue them to Court, instead of involving the innocent children in your mindless agitation ?

as you insist you must be paid for work not done in strike, who will pay students for 8 months house rent that is not wasted ? some of them can no longer go for NYSC as they’ve passed 30 years maximum age for NYSC due to your unlimited strike, who will compensate them too? what of 8 months of their life ? who will compensate them for depression and mental stagnancy?

what of small business owners around campuses that your strike affected severely ? photocopiers, typists, transport unions, food sellers? students rent ? and these people are affected yet only you will be compensated for what?

do you pay your workers who do not work ? no work no pay is in our constitution you should be applauding government for following the constitution.

other governments paid striking unions in the past, from a humanistic and generous point of view.

The ideal thing is any union has the right to go on strike, but the union must carter for their teeming members during the period of strike. that is why union must collect dues in storage as sort of insurance to use and provide for, and sustain members during strike because there will be no salary.

but you, you strike without welfare of your members and expect to be paid by Govt after going on 8 months useless strike.

government is mandated to pay for vacation and holiday, not industrial strike. It is not your right! any court will tell you this.

RIP to ASUU

government will simply order VCs to reopen schools and urge CONUA to teach. That’s when you’ll see many of your junior lecturers abandoning the struggle and appearing in classrooms so as to receive salary for December and christmas celebrations.

10 million naira fine declared by Court on each ASUU NEC member for court contempt, to be deducted from their future salaries is not a bad move at all.

I stand with CONUA the hope of Nigerian students.

Death to any union that is sitting on the destiny of innocent Nigerian youths.

Atiku is doing well to unite the North

his biggest challenger in the north - buhari, is no longer contesting. free ride for him as he’s the second most popular northern politician in the north after buhari

more so, apc politicians from the north are sitting on the face and not publicly supporting tinubu
