Blestedo75: Suspending the strike or calling off the strike the strike isn't an issue. They need a little time to do so as the seven day grace period given them by the appeal court hasn't elapsed. But the issue is that will the lecturers be willing to go to classes as it stands. How will the Fg govt enforce them to go to classes? I see this thing so deep than can be imagined. once HOD ask for your Cummulative Assessment to add up and grade students ahead of exam, your body go tel you. |

ASUU goes on 8months strike this year they no talk to ASUU o students are suffering make ASUU rest and negotiate with new government. |

Education › Re: Lawyers, Pls, State The Implications Of ASUU Not Obeying The Court's Order by Ebubu: 10:32am On Oct 09, 2022 |
JJuanMiguel: The court of appeal ordered them to suspend the strike, i.e obey NIC ruling before lodging an appeal against the ruling. However, they gave ASUU 7 days window to lodge the appeal, which means they must suspend the strike within that period.
It's even more interesting because ASUU dragged FG to that court before they were knocked back.
Disobeying a direct court order is a criminal offence, hence ASUU as a union will be seen as a criminal organization and the members as criminals. It might escalate to a point where DSS will swoop in and pick up ASUU leaderships, especially their president Emma Osodeke, that's when his viral video of him urging people to vote out APC will be used against him. He will be interrogated and accused of working for opposition parties and trying to cause unrest in the country by shutting down universites for 8 months. i usually like how you knock these ASUU people and you like topics that have A and S in them |

Stargurl20: The Appeal court has ordered ASUU to call off the strike in seven days. I know ASUU to be a prideful union. Therefore, if they decide not to obey the court's order, what are the implications? their leaders are well known. the court will place fine on them. their National Executive Council members who are the decision making body can be placed on N10million fine per head. FG will be forced to enforce it by deducting it from their future salary in percentages. Junior ASUU members will be urged by FG to resume, attendance register put in place to note the defaulting lecturers. Their salaries can be denied. It is going to be a scattered resumption if ASUU fails to comply. But resumption must happen, though scattered and disorganised. |

Why can't government do the needful. But if it's to share monies amongst themselves as government officials, they will gladly do it. take government to court and leave nigerian youths out of your failed bargain |

IamDietiesGod: FG have been waiting for ASSU to play ball into their hand. And ASSU did that convincingly. ASSU should know by now that FG won't succumb to their biddings, Isn't that obvious?
The only reasonable thing ASSU can do for now is to obey court verdict first, that is the logical thing they can at least do for now but ASSU always defy that.
"A wise man don't need advice, fool won't take it" Benjamin Franklin what will FG do if ASUU disobeys the Appeal court ruling to resume? |

Honlucas: U don ever read constitution?
If u suspend this strike u can't embark on another till dem judge de case finish.mil
I thought u guys are intellectuals but im disappointed at ur comment and the case will keep on being postponed until the new government is formed and new minister of labour employed most likely next year October before the final verdict is given ( so as not to give room for strike against an outgoing government) trust court in judgement postponing if they call off the strike, it’ll most likely be till next year October before they can “legally” go on another one and by then the new government may choose to divide them with CONUA |

meetme01: Lol Nigeria's debt and Lagos is increasing salary.? So much debt and Ngige profers increase in workers salary.
Bro, it's not about debt but political will. They pay Npower 30K per month doing nothing just for campaign purposes. lagos has small people to cater for, FG has over 200 million to cater for. do the ratio increase in minimum wage will touch everyone even military workers. what ASUU is asking for is what will touch only them, and then when minimum wage is increased, it touches them as well. greedy bunch who will give you 1 trillion |
