PoliticsRe: N18,000 Minimum Wage Though Not Enough, We Won't Slash Workers' Salary- Fayose by echelons(m): 6:03am On Nov 23, 2015
It is shameful that our governors cannot afford to pay the ridiculously too poor 18k minimum wage.
Be that as it may, I believe it's governments across the nation started right sizing its civil service. There are lots and lots of individuals in the civil service doing absolutely nothing yer government pays them at the end of the month. Government should borrow a leaf from 5he private sector and do the needful , but that should be done with human face and genuine spirit.
All avenues of waste should be blocked.

TrajansKong:
I SAY AGAIN!!

This is not the African Way.
The Pope is wrong. How can we respect him as a man of God if he travels amongst the common people? How can we glorify one who does not glorify himself? He is a messenger of God!! He should reflect God's power accordingly. We do not exalt those on our own level. A true pastor must SHOW he is above us in every way.

The Vatican has billions and BILLIONS in precious metals and stones but this pope does not display any of this for us to admire. If we cannot SEE and admire a man's power and wealth how can we follow him and give unto his glory?

This pope is a disgrace to Christianity. A man of God cannot be humble. He must be mighty as God is mighty.Fly your private jet, Papa Oyedepo! Wear your Rolex, Papa Adeboye. Wear your Armani suits Pastor Daniel! We cannot judge you as we judge ourselves. You are truly men of God. Our spiritual and earthly masters!
Ok.
Your attempt at sarcasm could easily be misconstrued.
We heirs of the Father. We are JOINT heirs with the SON (Not even with the pope or pastor but with Christ ). We all have different roles to play in propagating and establishing the divine Kingdom on earth. Nobody's role should be seen as special because in the end, the goal is to make heaven.

CareerNon Payment Of Allowances/stipends To IT/SIWES Students At PHRC. by echelons(op): 3:33am On Sep 28, 2015
Dear Mr Kachikwu,

This is to bring to your attention the non-payment of Allowances/Stipends to IT/SIWES students at the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC).

Efforts by the students to know the cause of this delay has been futile as no HR staff of PHRC has offered any explanation and their plight has been treated with so much disdain.

Kindly look into this issue as this was supposed to be the students' feeding allowance. This is really hampering their learning process as a lot of them go hungry throughout the day even while carrying out their exhaustive engineering/administrative duties. They rely solely on the goodwill of the main staff for their meals. The consequence is that some of the girls among them may fall victims of exploitation.

The minimum requirement an institution owes its employees (Trainees alike) is to provide them transportation and feeding. PHRC has provided transport but so far has failed to provide its trainees their stipends which they are entitled to.

I believe you will look into this burning issue.

Regards,
Concerned Nigerian.

I made some calls to PHRC and confirmed this to be true. Kindly push to FP so it can get to appropriate quarters.

Fellywood:
I won't know of lies here but I had an experience on this spot. When the light counted to zero, it remained green & started one to five on green again, And of course if you are rushing to beat red you will be in a hurry. What I did not know was that the light had passed the other lane at the same time. It was God that worked things for us that day. That bolingo spot is the most dangerous in the FCT. The authorities should DO something about the traffic light there.
It counts down from 5 again yes, but the other ones do not start counting down GREEN. When it starts counting down 5, you're meant to slow down and stop, or if you're close enough to beat the countdown then you can crossover without incident.
I ply that route daily, from Lugbe to Central Area in the morning and Commasie house to Lugbe in the evening. That traffic lights have been working perfectly, it's just that some drivers are plain stupid and undisciplined.

Since u made yourself a judge in your own matter, Oya carry go. Jail the sanator, yeye.
I work close to Cool FM abuja that light hardly work. Hence the ever presence of traffic police there.
Bros relax. That traffic lights work and they were working that morning since this incident happened before my very eyes.
I was actually like 5 vehicles behind the UN vehicle that was involved and was our turn to start going. In as much as I like Akpabio as a governor, he shouldn't come out to tell this blatant lie. That Bolingo junction light has been working for two years now since I started going to work from that route.

meforyou1:
I wholly agree with Akpabio on this. Those traffic lights the former FCT minister hurriedly installed as he was about leaving in Abuja are not working. And those that are working give inappropriate signs that 2 drivers from different directions might actually be obeying the lights and then collide.
Bros na lie abeg. That Bolingo junction traffic lights have been working since time immemorial. I witnessed that accident live on my way to work that morning. His light has turned RED and our own green, yet his driver was still flying on the road.
Even the new ones are working too. Let's not believe this silly excuse.
PhonesRe: See Akure Mtn Office Today by echelons(m):
I wonder if Nlders even listen to news. A lot of ignorant posts.

NCC gave a directive for all the TELCOs to clean out their database and remove the incomplete or unregistered active SIM cards.

The deadline for this directive has elapsed and none of these TELCOs was able to do 100% clean out, but our dear MTN did 0%. Absolutely nothing! Even though they have the highest number of incomplete or unregistered SIM cards (about 18M).

That's a flagrant abuse and disregard of the law that governs them, thereby putting Nigerians at the risk of what could happen with an unregistered sim card.

Just like many things in the country, SIM card registration was left at the hands of those that don't even understand the reason why the do what they do. No training whatsoever. They will always do it shabbily. The result is what we get.

Anyone in the house who attended FGGC Osha some years ago,Do you remember Onyinye Agbasimalo? One hell of a brilliant girl......8 A1 and 1B2. Same in NECO. And so many others like her. My brother was one of them in DMGS.
I know her (heard about her actually).
There were so many brilliant students in FGGC Onitsha, DMGS, CKC Onitsha , St. Charles, QRC Onitsha, so many sharp minds around Onitsha, making amazing results genuinely.

In as much as this particular result is good, it will only be an average result in any of these schools between class 2000 - 2007.
EducationRe: My Junior Bros Waec Result by echelons(m): 9:52am On Aug 12, 2015
If it were to be my era, this result would have been mere mediocre, but nowadays when only about 35% of students pass WAEC exams, I'll congratulate the young man.
But don't let it get to your head, there's still big room for improvement.

You need to have been in 2nd category to understand how annoying it could be.

It's lack of respect for the person calling and a sign of immaturity.

It's better to pick the call and tell the person NO and be firm about it than ignoring the calls.

not for me..for now.

It really is nerve-wrecking.

I remember when I was searching for job with a very popular accounting firm, after the interviews we were told they'd get back to us within a month..

That was longest month of my life..I never miss a single beep from my phone..the waiting was killing..eventually when the mail came... cry

I never stopped applying for other jobs though..Infact I was already through with 2 other interviews before the firm's mail came.

Good luck to the hustlers but the anxiety no b small thing.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria In Deep Economic Trouble: “FG, States, LGs Share N518.5bn For June” by echelons(m):
Revenue sharing is not a linear measure that you can just compare what states were receiving 10 years ago and expect it to be similar to what they should be receiving today. There are so many economic indices that should be considered - inflation, forex movement, GDP, AND of course, other present day economic policies.

It's easy to point accusing fingers at Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, we always need that fall guy, but what have you really suggested we do? She made sound economic judgements but she did not have sole powers to implement these policies.
These states you're even talking about were the ones that never agreed with her opinions. The few that listened like Anambra are the ones reaping the dividends.

States should be more involved in policy development, I agree but what do we get, state commissioners of finance fighting more for more funds from FG.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Massive Fresh Graduate Recruitment In A First Generation Bank by echelons(m): 3:02pm On Aug 03, 2015
Definitely a CONTRACT staff position! cry

I wouldn't advice ppl to take contract staff jobs in a bank.
Pay is relatively small, stress is much, no promotions, no serious allowances, not included in profit share, no resealable training outside teller job.

I'd rather find something else to do (business, handwork, farming) than be a Bank Teller on contract in any bank.

From firsthand experience.

For those that are trooping to apply, please explore other options before you apply.

Anyway, we have been so battered in this country that so many irrelevances are now applauded as achievement.
Our expectations are now so low, and the politicians freely take advantage of our low sense of needs.
I pity us.. We don't even seem to know what Strategic governance will offer its citizens. embarassed
PoliticsRe: Anambra Governor, Obiano Increases Salary Of State Workers By 15% by echelons(m): 4:48pm On Jul 31, 2015
Credit should also go to Peter Obi for handing over the state in strong financial status to Willie.
He left about 75B in cash and investment, this is even after the retinue of achievements he recorded as governor.
That is what you get when you have ppl who understand what is needed to be done than ppl who play to the gallery.
I wonder how Anambra would have faired if Ngige had succeeded in clinching to the stolen mandate of Peter. (God forbid ).
Willie should continue the good works. The ground has been watered for him.

It's been long I came across a first graded fool like you.

Who made the value of the naira to depreciate? Who is responsible for all the insecurity in the nation? these and many more
You wailing wailers opened your fucking eyes and blocked your ears when Jonathan was busy destroying the nation and you all kept quiet because he his a Southerner and or a non-muslim.

It's unfortunate you didn't get my point. Blame Jonathan all you care but the ball is in Buhari's court now, let him platform it well.
We are moving fast to doom and we should be bothered. I don't compare my position with the position of somebody who has failed woefully.
APC said GEJ failed Nigerians. We accepted and voted them in. I believe it's only fair they start to make us believe that Jonathan was that bad Afterall. This blame game doesn't cut it for me. If Buhari cannot move it, then he should move out.

PoliticsRe: ‘baba Go Slow’ Appellation Given To Buhari Is What Best Suits Nigeria Now-yoruba by echelons(m): 2:01pm On Jul 27, 2015
This is what we get when we choose NEPA Bill over PhD certificate.

No policy direction, crumbling economy (The value of Naira went from around 200 to a dollar to 240 within 2 months - unprecedented! ), inarticulate responses to key national issues, reckless statements capable of breeding disunity especially now that we all need to work together, No government in place, went to the US and came back with virtually nothing - no agenda was discussed or made known to us.

It's very unfortunate because those that are supposed to be concerned are those singing his praise.

I'm worried not because I have any political interest rather because the small amount of money I have in my bank has lost nearly 30% of its value in just 2 months.

We all should be worried and stop this stupid praise - singing because it doesn't bring any good to us.

Just like we were united in calling it quits with PDP, we should all also unite to tell President Buhari to move his asss and get to work.

We really don't need Slow and Steady now..especially not a Baba Go slow.
CareerRe: Bankers Whats The Way Forward?? by echelons(m):
Best option is make quality friends while working in the bank. Know their businesses, research on tehm and invest in similar businesses. Finally get ready to quit any time you feel like.
Banking is not easy, whether Operations or Business Banking but if you're in Business banking, you'll be better exposed on how businesses work.

Most importantly, don't invest so much in flamboyance. It has killed a lot of bankers especially when they were told to go.

Go for programmes in Business development, financial management, Sales and marketing, and Customer service.
