I don't need to be a government worker to know what arrears mean. Okorocha is owing the teachers 13 months salary, when accumulated, they are called arrears. what about Osun? Does it have a different meaning too? Nigeria: APC Pleads With Osun Workers Over Salary Arrearshttp://allafrica.com/stories/201505010648.html |

What is arrears? Chai! Illiterates are too many on Nairaland. |

The title said arrears if I'm not mistaking Arrears simply means that they have not been paid. It means 'owed' |

tolababa: 13th month salary is a bonus pay which is not a privilege or right of the state workers. He has paid the rest of the workforce it only remain pry school teachers. My opinion he has tried paying it. Ondo state govt stopped paying after winning re election so it is not a crime for non paying and even many state don't pay it 1 2 3 4 ...... 13 months i.e. 1 year + 1 month salaries owed, not 13th month. |

IdiAmin1: Atleast he has promised to pay unlike one h€-goat in my friend's state that blames FG.
But Owelle, why pay pupils stipends and declare free education whereas you owe pensioners? You be big mumu. Someone is owing teachers who earn meagre salaries for 13 months yet you absolve him of any blame just because he 'promised' to pay. |

Dedicating This FTC to all who desire that Nigeria will move forward by making meaningful comments on NL.
I don't think That Mr. Wike will ever defect to the APC, I think politics btw Mr Amaechi and Mr Wike has passed from mere politcs to something else..
I pray that they be reconciled for the good of the Rivers people and Nigeria in general.
I remember the days when Rivers state was like Ekiti, I don't pray for such to occur again.
Wike be reconciled to Amaechi, he's ur senior partner, Amaechi be reconciled to Wike, You're brothers..
blood, they say, is thicker than water..
A peaceful Rivers, A peaceful Ekiti, A peaceful Nigeria.... Contrary to what you think, If Amaechi and Wike reconcile, it will be bad for the unity of Rivers state. The Riverine (especially Ijaw) part of Rivers state despite believing that it is there turn to rule, gave Wike their votes because of his staunch support for their brother President Jonathan and their disdain for Amaechi who did the opposite. A reconciliation of the two will lend credence to the already existing suspicion that there was an Ikwerre gang up to make Ijaws and the Riverine groups lose at both Federal and state level. Amaech and Wike should remain enemies for the good of Rivers state or at least make sure their reconciliation doesn't get to the public. |

Besides, they cannot prosper without the support of it's mother state. The reasons for patronising Tata buses are stated in the article. Does Innoson produce the kind of long buses described? |

I will call you on phone because there are things I need to point out to you. Until then calm down.
As for Obiano he is very much on track. As happyjoe said the new transport company is a limited liability company unlike ANIDS which is equally doing well but can do better if it were limited company. As a limited company, it will be so organized in a manner that will be self sustainable and profit oriented Unlike others before it.
Obiano's approach on all fronts as massive infrastructural development, aviation, transport, oil/gas, agriculture, industrialization etc is highly commendable and worthy of emulation. This new transport company will further increase the state's IGR going by the way they intend to run it. I wonder why anyone will be against it. |

The north 'allegedly' has a higher population and more landmass than any other region in Nigeria, hence they have more LGAs, more states and more representatives. Smaller landmass and population is the reason why the SE has fewer states, fewer LGAs and fewer representatives.
Unfortunately, the population of south-easterners in Nigeria is not necessarily small, but most Igbos live outside the SE zone, thereby unconsciously adding to the population of other zones while reducing the population of the south east.
I suggest the next population census to be conducted in late December. So what is your opinion on quota system that always comes to play whe merit doesn't suit the northerners? You see who they are calling for it to be applied even in a scholarship scheme? |
