I applied for my visa online on the 19th of October but I haven't heard from from CIC, however there is a someone on this forum who applied on the same day as me that has gotten his TRV.

It really surprises tho because I really don't know what criteria CIC uses in tending to applications but am sure they sure give some applications more priority than others.

Make sure you add ur sponsors and ur birth certificate to serve as proof of relationship. Give an explanation why u wanna study that ur PGC course.

Concerning this finance issue from my own point of view:

1. Most people here just throw in company statements with their apps without the necessary documents backing it up like board resolution letter , e.t.c and there must be a strong reason why a company would want to spend millions on you which should be clearly and plainly stated in a sponsorship letter and duely signed. (I strongly advice using personal statement of accounts tho)


2. If parents are not going to be acting as sponsors please look for sponsors who are closely related to you.
State the relationship with enough proof and state a very clear reason why the individual would want to spend such amount on you. On the sponsorship letter state the person's job, monthly income, Dependants if any, company name and address, phone number e.t.c. as well as documents to back them up.

Calculate your fees plus cost if living for a year (fees + $10, 000 Cad) convert to naira using the current rate of Cad and make sure there's more than enough left in your sponsors account to cater for his family after this figure would be deducted.

Please let's put in more work into our applications to avoid all these refusals, seems we are not putting in enough work on our applications latelty on this thread compared to former apllicants.

Work on study gaps, literally give no room for a VO to deny you. After gathering your documents pick them up and act like a Visa Officer, list all the denial reasons we have been seeing here and scrutinize them against those reasons and anywhere u see a loophole tackle before submitting.That was what I did on my app. Just a single document or letter left out can be very costly.

Let's try and do volunteer jobs too and add such certificates to our CV's and apps, I did that to mine. Canny people like volunteering well well.

One thing i learnt from Mr@acrayo situation is,more especially to PGC(D) that are often refused on PURPOSE OF VISIT, please do order your GCMS NOTES immediately after your first refusal,the analysis here are just peculiar discussed cases which might also make you understand more of the case officer's statement on ur file if there is need.Also to PGC(D), a strong SOP will always Salvage a situation cos a VO would want to see a compelling logical reason for your purpose of intended studies/travel.But when a case officer has faulted entirely your program of study due to inconsistency, change to a good prospect program that is in correlation if you can or get a master's program if your CGPA can.But if he/she has faulted the purpose of such studies to the extent of "similar programs can be obtained in ur home country"/don't know why the applicant is incuring cost to travel for such studies,my bro/sis the VO no like that program wey u dey go.na masters fit sure pass

my bro, I got admitted by university of Regina into an Meng program. My GPA is just 3.58. I applied to UBC too but I never get response from them because I applied for Msc and I didn't secure a supervisor, they even sent me a mail last week that if I'm interested in masters in engineering leadership that I should just let them know so that I will be considered for Jan 2017 intake. Before I got my admission, I filled the university of Saskatchewan pre-admission form and they also sent me a mail last week that I'm qualified to officially apply.

During my search for admission. I sent my transcript to the program cordinators of my intending programs asking them if I met the admission requirement for masters. Some were +ve while some were -ve....I studied Chem like you and I can tell you that you are super qualified for meng admission.

When I was waiting for my admission, I got scared and applied to six German schools because I thought they are gonna admit me freely since I made 2.1 and I have seen a third class grad got admitted for a masters degree..Unfortunately I was rejected by all six schools, lol. But before then my Canada admission don land.

So my guy, in my opinion you just need to try, final GPA is not the only thing they consider, for instance you can get Msc admission with a 2.2 degree if your last two years is very okay. Queens university told me that although they have 70% as their minimum requirement, that I'm free to apply because I did very well in some individual courses that are related to their core research area.

So no two cases are the same, you just have to try and hope for the best. Good luck bro.
