MadamExcellency:The document is a forgery because it did not follow due course of ratification. It was done clandestinely for sinister motives by a few individuals who lied that it was passed by the entire House, and who are still laying claim to its authenticity in the face of overwhelming evidence that proves the contrary. The concept of tittle resemblance or non is a weak defence. Talking about perfection, Saraki is still presiding over the senate since the joke of June 6, 2015 and all his indictment for corruption. Isn't that perfect as well? Why not advise your patrons to face their court case since you think they have a strong case? |
tomakint:Same here boss. Gracias! |
MadamExcellency:What happened to the Senate rules was not an amendment. It was a clear forgery blatantly engineered to influence a pre-determined outcome, to lay credence to the the primordial ambition of four men. It is a provocative treachery against 180 million Nigerians. Best way to defend democracy is to prosecute, and throw behind bars, those who make a ridicule of it. The senate belongs to Nigeria. It is sustained by Nigerian taxpayers, and is subject to the laws that binds all of us. It is not an institution for the celebration of treachery and brigandage of the perfidious few. |
PrettyCrystal:This is cheer theatrics. Wike is the grand patron of cultists in Rivers State. |
PDP...they never cease to amuse me. |
He should just resign and stop throwing everything, including the Senate credibility and apparatus, into the ring. This is the height of desperation. |
rexbuton:Oshodin is a no no. If you reside in Benin (or Edo), you'll realise how PDP used Oshodin, Uniben management and student's union to cause chaos and discredit Oshiomole in the events leading to the 2015 elections. Remember how PDP and oshodin turned the property dispute between Edo State Govt and Uniben into a personal, tribal, war between Oshiomole and the Bini people? They were on TV insulting the governor, setting Comrade Buses and other people's cars ablaze just to will political points. Worse still, it is on record that Osayuki Oshodin is a nepotistic tribal bigot. The people he employed and elevated during his headship of Uniben were exclusively Binis. Could be your reason for preferring him, though. |
satelliteDISH:Indeed. The writer deserves an award for this very fair, professional and unbiased report. This is a rarity in Nigerian journalism. Not to talk of vanguard for that matter! |
chally02:Tell us what you know about the Nigerian constitution and electoral law. You think Yahaya Bello or the Kogi PDP wouldn't have brought this up if it was a case? |
Guseh:True. He has an edge. I see Faleke wining this case at the SC. |
Happy birthday to the voodoo economist. |
tomakint:I don't think it's a wise idea to publish names. The president was obviously advised against such silly move at the dying minute. |
Good job. The government should just go ahead in prosecuting the offenders. It should shelve the plan of publishing their names to avoid unnecessary crisis. |
Happy birthday, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi. You are a role model to many of us. You epitomise a resilient, dogged leader with strong convictions. |
chukwudi44:Who would've thought I will ever give your post a like? Truth be told, Buhari is the chief secessionist. He has spent his first year solely to empower his brothers with the resources from the south which he loves to hate and alienate. His complacency, nepotism and ultra-bigotry brought us to this level. |
Buhari must put and end to Fulani herdsmen provocation and violence. That's the security Nigerians want now. People need to go to farm and feed their families. Nigeria belongs to everybody. We are a people from diverse ethnicity, economic, social and religious backgrounds and cleavages. Mohammed Buhari must stop being a northern Islamic irredentist. He has done so much to put his moslem religion at the core of our national fabric, appointing hard-line islamists as heads of sensitive parastatals, alienated southerners and discriminated against Christians in just one year into his administration. |
The confirmed Boko founder and chief sponsor had almost consolidated himself in the nest of killers. I don't blame him for thinking that he can win a presidential election in Nigeria inspite of his damaged reputation. Because, with the way buhari is running this country, and if the current hardship on Nigerians is not remedied soon enough, anybody can have a good run against (and even unseat) Mohammed Buhari. |
lukency:What happened to customs? Buhari is indefensible when it comes to the lopsidedness of his appointments. |
odikimi:The lagoon could be a better alternative ![]() |
You can't expect nothing less than chaos from PDP the destructive party of thieves. Bunch of shameless reprobates who shouldn't be anywhere else than in jail cells! |
abbeywasc:1) Aduwawa 2) In the bank 3) Since February billing. Where I stay doesn't matter though. That's what they've been doing in Benin. All my friends, colleagues and relatives are experiencing the same bedc robbery. Last month, they dropped a bill of #13k for my elder sis. One of my colleagues was given #12k bill...and the list goes on. It is a common knowledge in Benin. And I wonder why nobody, especially the govt and House of Assembly or even efcc, hasn't said or done anything about it. |
bejeiodus:If wishes were horses. |
abbeywasc:My meter is accessible. We have a gatekeeper but these bedc fraudsters don't ever bother to enter and read meter. I always leave a copy of last payments with the gatekeeper. Truth is, these people are just plain fraudulent with no pretence. |
omowolewa:How convenient! Evrybody's device has that function. But Mr spell checker does not twist your words after posting. I actually expected you to blame it on hacker ![]() |
TrendyP:Mr oversabi, is it NERC that issue frivolous "estimated" bills? Is it nerc that is supposed to come to my house, read my meter and charge me based on what I consume? These bedc louts don't bother to read meter. They just find a way to hang their bills at the gate and walk away to come back and cut your wire less than a week later if you haven't cleared it. I live in a 3bedroom flat. Alone with my friend. The last bill they dropped at the gate for me was 9000 Naira. For a light that they hardly bring upto 4 hours a day. Previously it was 1k (highest). |
OsusuMustFlow:What's about this with owning that's been littering nairaland lately? Is it that you people cannot spell owe? Or you don't know the difference between owning and owing ? |
Junior66:Amen! Thanks...and you also. |
ayzTIGER:This makes pundits to believe that Mohammed Buhari is a self-serving, nepotistic, narcissistic hypocrite. He eats and enjoys alone but wants others, including his ministers, to endure and adjust to hardship. |
The rulers of Nigeria, especially the executive and legislature need to cut down their jumbo pays. Unnecessary recurrent expenditure and financial profligacy has always been the bane of Nigeria's development. The world is watching and the people are suffering. The writer is obviously critical of Mohammed Buhari. But the president must live by what he preaches if he does not want to be called a hypocrite. His lifestyle must portray his acclaimed integrity beyond reasonable doubt. |
diransom:Stop bombing this thread with your moslem culture. Nobody want to hear it here. Dem dey talk better thing, you dey mention Islam. Where do those terrorists that bomb themselves and kill others in the name of your Arabian deity go to? |
