He is right however if he was a good leader his people would not br running to SA in droves so he is part of the problem. He should fix his own country then his people won't have to go elsewhere for job opportunities.
There are Americans working in Nigeria. Does that make Nigeria more "fixed" than the USA?

The man was a HOA candidate from Edo south zone. Not the senatorial candidate.

Mogidi:
Devolution of power is what I stand for, with GEJ or without GEJ.
Excessive power in the hands of power-drunk dictator like Buhari is dangerous.
GEJ never abused his power like Buhari did in the 80s, jailing anyone that has the temerity to scrutinize his actions or inactions.
Why do you choose to be among those who lack basic understanding of the difference between the type of govt that Buhari presided over in the 80s and what is obtainable in the current dispensation? It is quite damaging to be willfully ignorant out of convenience.

Even at that, did GEJ not abuse his powers by notoriously haunting, and embarrassing Amaechi and almost setting up a parallel govt in the state?
It's on record that Opposition governors and leaders were placed under surveillance and sometimes had their movements restricted. Or you want to tell me that there was someone else running the government on behalf of GEJ, committing those abuses?

Does Gej still think those executive powers are meant for him to use? No doubt the clueless one was instructed by his "advisers" against signing it because it was a ploy by the opposition to reduce his presidential powers and "sabotage" his government grin grin

They should send it back to him the next time he gets drunk. grin

Meanwhile, someone please remind him that Nigerians won't require his catastrophic signature on such sensitive documents after May 29th.

TheGoodJoe:

Gov. Amaechi did not lose. He is not running any election.

He definitely has to play a role at the National level. Someone who would have been able to fight for the Rivers and Niger Deltans.

However, the Rivers People prefers GEJ and Patience who did nothing for them. Is that not crazy.

Gov. Amaechi did not lose Rivers State. Rovers State should pray Gov. Amaechi still loves them to continue fighting for them.
I agree with you.

This came from you? Amaechi will learn a basic life lesson, east or west your home will always remain the best. He has successfully made himself a strange in his own village. His worse enemies now, are his new friends. You have already thrown him under the bus. As dem say, such is life.
I respect Amaechi and still regard him as a dogged fighter (maybe hero), considering the odds against him. But I had to view the whole thing from a different perspective.
I hope he gets his desired compensation from the in-comming govt. It is only morally correct to reward hardworking loyalists without considering their political leverage (which, honestly, Rotimi Amaechi has lost).

The way I am seeing things eheeem __

Under President Buhari, are you people sure that Nigeria can contain all Nigerians?
Yes. Nigeria will contain everybody as long as they are disciplined, incorruptible and law-abiding.
PoliticsRe: INEC Announces Rivers State House Of Assembly Poll Result, PDP Floors APC by EdCure:
It is safe to conclude that Amaechi has no clout in his home state (domain). How could he be so roundly beaten twice by his rivals (no matter how powerful they are) when he still remains the Governor of the state?

Amaechi has no stronger rivals than Oshiomhole of my Edo. Osho has the Igbinedions, Anhenis, Dokpesis, Onolememes, Orbis, Ize-iyamus and numerous others (all with federal backing for impunity) to contend with, yet he was able to win One senate seat, 3 HOR, about 45% of the presidential votes, and 21 out of 24 HA seats.

I don't think Amaechi is a smart politician with popular appeal. He doesn't seem to know what to do either.

That said, Amaechi has come a long way. He gave his best for the in-comming administration and I hope they don't acknowledge him less because of this.

Firefire:
Elected and acting in his capacity as Senate President.
The storyline now is, why would someone return to the house for FIVE times ?
For David Mark his people could be voting for him, but for Kolawole Taiwo he is been imposed and no voting before now but doctored election result been read. (Adibo tabi a o dibo, o ti wole, that is no more)
...If Nigeria election is free and fair, we shall then know who the people love.
For a person to continuously win or lose election, it has more to do with the campaign strategies of the candidate and the calibre/credibility of his opponent.

How about admitting the fact that the PDP strongmen have been "imposing" a worse option on the people of that constituency since 1999, and they just weren't strong enough to rig those candidates in?

I pity his people for re-electing him. angry
When shall they vacate and allow the younger generation to occupy ?
It's interesting how you couldn't say this when he was busy acting as GEJ's chief manipulator at the Senate, promoting impunity for PDP, and in the days leading to the election.

What do you say about David Mark and others who have been elected into political offices from one level to the other since 1999?

Some US congressmen/senators have been wining re-election for more than 30 years.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Celebrates With People At His Residence Over Apc’s Big Win (photos) by EdCure: 10:11pm On Apr 12, 2015
In every field of human endeavour, he that is first must perpetually live in the white light of publicity.

Whoever the leadership is vested on, emulation and envy are ever at work. The reward and punishment are always the same: The reward is widespread recognition; the punishment, fierce denial and detraction.

When a man's work becomes a standard for the whole nation, it also becomes a target for the shafts of the envious few. If his work is merely mediocre, he will be left severely alone. But if he acheve a masterpiece, it will set a million tongues a-wagging.
Nobody will try to surpass or slander you unless your work is stamped with the seal of genious.

The leader is assailed because he is a leader, and the effort to equal him is merly added proof of that leadership.
There is nothing new in this human nature filled with envy, fear, greed, ambition, and the desire to surpass.

Tinubu truly leads, and he remains, THE LEADER!
