Anyway, I'm targeting the daily trendline (chart below) which is 350 pips away, so, whatever price does from there, we will see. remember, the overall trend is still bullish and price might not even gt to DT target b4 resuming its uptrend...

@jorel, did u ride the gold trade down, price now @ my said target support, my last position got stopped out during the 1hrly range but still nice 300 pips made. eagerly waiting for support break or daily uptrend continuation.

So why wasn't my order triggered? Let's say you sell EURUSD at 1.2250, placing a Stop Loss at 1.2340 and a Take Profit at 1.2190. The spread on EURUSD is 2 pips.
Referring to the list above, you can see that a Stop Loss on a Sell order will be triggered when the Ask price hits the order level (since a short position is effectively closed by a Buy order and you buy at the Ask price). The Stop Loss on your Sell order will be triggered when the Ask reaches 1.2340 or higher. Keep in mind that the price in your MT4 chart is the Bid price. So the order will only be triggered when the High in MetaTrader is 1.2338 (1.2340 minus the 2-pip spread) or higher.
Like Stop Loss orders, Take Profit orders on Sell positions are also triggered when the Ask price reaches the order level. The Take Profit order on the position above will be triggered when the Ask price reaches 1.2190 or lower. This means that the order will be triggered when the Bid price is 1.2188 (1.2190 minus the 2-pip spread) or lower. Since the Low price in MT4 is based on the Bid price, we can conclude that the order will only be triggered when the Low in MetaTrader reaches 1.2188.

To those who know better here: could you suggest to me a reliable broker whose MT4 features the Enable Maximum Deviation option? I have started studying the market using a demo account on FXOpen, but I cannot find that option in the tool provided. I'm especially interested in this option because of what I experienced when doing my first and only trade so far. The Bid price was trending in the range .xx36-.xx37 when opening a trade but the position was opened at .xx40. Immediately after opening the position, I see the price return to the earlier range and never moved out of it while I watched. I don't think this is normal. Or is it?

But , it makes sense ,However actually I dont analyse its just normal when you hear changes in economic indicators such as interest rates changes then you know the national and global impact it brings and how its gonna affect the economy in both short and long term .. moreover it was obvious there wasnt going to be a rate increase this month (even a novice would know this since it was too early after the referendum to establish the full impact of brexit and gather data and the BOE was aware of a new british PM so it was only logical to wait and see )due to as anlaysed by traders which is why the bullish move remained resilient even hours before the news ..but its not gonna be the same in next report come 4th August. still at that I think decrease or no decrease of interest rate , GBP would still sell anyway prior to the news because the bulls would only ride through the range of the BREXIT maybe even get to the high of the BREXIT candle because it has not been retested (its a free ride )and the market wouldnt see any more value in higher prices, thats why I would leave my current buy trades even till next Friday or when I see a more than a triple top formation on my 4hr TF because bulls would take price to extreme.
If you wanna do very long term trade then would be a good time to sell because GBP prices may not smell that extreme region again for a very long term

This is exactly what I am talking about, I barely consider news unless if it's of course major news like that of brexit. About Gbp , I just checkd my chart and bought using Technical analysis considering what price has been doing for the past period few hours b4 BOE news. I know news are movers of the forex market which I still don't get how to apply it in my trading analysis, (well, maybe because i don't want to.). The only news i consider is NFP, I guess, I will have to know how 'rate interest and other major news affects price'

This is wrong statement , I suggest riding this bullish move till Friday next week. The next BOE rate announcement will be on the 4th and this time for sure they would likely reduce interest rate to zero. So I expect an extreme bullish candle next week and a bearish candle the week after to continue until the week of 4th August .

how you get to analyse and understand these fundamental news/analysis still amazes me.

Gold now retracing back, Possible short entry on H1 if price closes red below trendline on H1 (chart below).

the chart below shows why u shouldn't hunt a trade and wait for price to come to u

N.B. this is a late entry signal but price still 150- 200 pips away 4rm possible target.... a close above upper trendline invalidates the trade..

gold moving down as planned. if u want to get in on the short trade, wait for retracement on lower tf. H1 retracement

Jpy's gaining bullish momentum, all u have to do is wait for retracement. Don't jump in and relax. it might be a nice long ride....

Bro, i understand your point and with bolded, am not talking about less experienced trader, trust me. Many traders have blown $000000s away because they dont know how to trade, fact!. But no need to argue, do you know that if you are good to trade and have huge capital, you will likely trade less time frame and spend less on your pc. You will hardly scalp and you will be trading swing on inter day charts. Just go through successful traders AND FUND MANAGERS STARTING FROM myfxbook that have maintained positive results for years. What do they have in common They are long term traders, huge capital, good draw down and most importantly, look at their percentage gain over the years. It might just be less than 30% BUT THAT ALONE MAY BE IN HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. If you are familiar with recent events on FF ( forgotten his name now), a guy lost about $35K in a trade to forex.com on exotics trading and was challenging them on manipulating his trades and people were discussing him, when i did my investigation on him, i saw that his total gain in dollars was over $400K on same account. He is very good but not a intra day trader and you wont see them making noise. He doesnt trade as we are. With all sincereity, can you say you make a lot from forex trading continously months in months out, even as we keep saying you are good ever since you have started trading? If you are good, great, If you are not,,, then you should know the reason now.

Believe me, if you have good capital and knows what you are doing, you wont sit down every now and then in front of your computer be looking for signals here and there, and taking irrelevant trades. All what you need is quality few trades within a month and add positions. But do you have the capital to manage the DD and the risk? If you think is easy without capital and good skills, all those guy trading and winning demo contests would have been multimillionaire now.

3 trades won't clear the $50 and even if its just $50 i could afford to loose though...the other maths not stated is that you risk 50% of your account at every point to get 100% but i am fine tuning it to risk around 25-40% to get 100%...lets say you put in $50
T1 you loose 25% of $50 =37.5
T2 you loose another 25% of 37.5=28.125
T3..........................................=21.0935
e.t.c. like i said its an idea but i have seen someone done it again and again and again but Nigerian though cos over time traders from this side of the world has a limited way of thinking and their mind blocked.

USDCAD long term buy signal triggered from my side .. to take out this years high ... next 4 hr retracement activates a buy for me.

For me, I'm waiting for deep retracement to around 1.29500-150 to activate buy, 200 EMA currently acting as resistance. who doesn't love a long term trade...

hello, were u able to change the IMEI even on marshmallow and how is the battery compared to android 5.1. I've gotten the notification 4d updates 4 about 2 months ago now. hope marshmallow doesn't av any glitches.
