Openbusiness:Guy mk u grow up na. All this childishness & denials on top candidate when don lose. Some GOP voters held gatherings in some swing States to cast electoral votes for Trump for symbolism sake & not to change the genuine State electors votes. Such gatherings & their votes are not backed by any law & is not legal. Pennsylvania, Georgia & Michigan already casted their EC votes for Biden. |
Incensed by a Supreme Court ruling that further dashed President Trump’s hopes of invalidating his November electoral defeat , thousands of his supporters marched in Washington and several state capitals on Saturday to protest what they contended, against all evidence, was a stolen election. In some places, angry confrontations between protesters and counterprotesters escalated into violence. There were a number of scuffles in the national capital, where four people were stabbed, and the police declared a riot in Olympia, Wash., where one person was shot. In videos of a clash in Olympia that were posted on social media, a single gunshot can be heard as black-clad counterprotesters move toward members of the pro-Trump group, including one person waving a large Trump flag. After the gunshot, one of the counterprotesters is seen falling to the ground, and others call for help. In one video , a man with a gun can be seen running from the scene and putting on a red hat. Chris Loftis, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol, said that two people were in custody in connection with the episode but that specific details about the shooting were not yet clear, including the condition of the person who was shot. State and federal courts have rejected dozens of lawsuits by Mr. Trump’s allies seeking to challenge the election results, but the pointed refusal by the Supreme Court on Friday to hear a case filed by the attorney general of Texas loomed the largest yet. Trump flags dotted the air above Freedom Plaza in Washington, where demonstrators — including many members of the far-right Proud Boys group — chanted “four more years!” and vowed not to recognize Joseph R. Biden Jr. as the president-elect. At Georgia’s Statehouse in downtown Atlanta, speakers used megaphones to cast doubt on the election as American flags and Make America Great Again hats bobbed in the crowd. Across the street, a few dozen anti-Trump activists — many dressed all in black — heckled the president’s supporters. Chris Hill, the leader of a right-wing group called the Georgia Security Force III%, rallied many of the protesters to the Statehouse. Mr. Hill said the Supreme Court had “thumbed its nose at us.” But unlike many others in attendance, he said he accepted that Mr. Trump had lost the election. The gunfire in Olympia, Wash., came after supporters of Mr. Trump and counterprotesters gathered near the State Capitol on Saturday afternoon. The groups had clashed before the shooting, with some people throwing objects and punches. The air on the street was clouded by smoke grenades and mace, and police officers in riot gear later arrived on the scene. The Olympia police said there were four arrests and that four officers had been injured, according to the CBS affiliate KIRO . Clashes also broke out between opposing groups in Washington, D.C., where videos showed people clad in Proud Boys gear punching and kicking counterprotesters who were wearing helmets. The police stepped in and sprayed mace at some of the men involved in the fighting. Another video showed anti-police protesters scuffling with officers and tossing what appeared to be a wooden stick at them. At night, four people were stabbed near 11th Street and F Street Northwest, according to Douglas Buchanan, a spokesman for the city’s fire department. The mayor’s office said that the four were in critical condition, adding that two police officers also were hurt and taken to hospitals. The authorities did not provide any other details, including which groups of protesters the injured belonged to. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/12/us/4-stabbed-and-one-shot-as-trump-supporters-and-opponents-clash.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=cur |

uunwanaobong3:pls keep quiet & stop embarrassing yourself. Mail in & Absentee ballots has been used in all US states to vary degrees for more than a century. It was not hastily drafted in by the governors. It's fully backed by States Laws. Mail in ballots usage & procedures was only expanded & made easier because of the covid 19 pandemic. Even if some of the mail in ballots expanded procedures were made ultre vires, trump & republicans should have challenged it before the election & not after losing the election. |
Openbusiness:TF, You just wrote utter nonsense. what is "Motion to leave" or "Motion to file". The SCOTUS rejected the case basically because Texas doesn't not have the legal right to sue those states because it “has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections.” So stop decieving yourself, Texas or any other States can't refile the same case because they lack locus standi which robs the court of jurisdiction to hear the matter. |

Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas said they would have heard Texas’ complaint. But they would not have done as Texas wanted — setting aside those four states’ 62 electoral votes for Biden — pending resolution of the lawsuit. https://apnews.com/article/election-2020-joe-biden-donald-trump-lawsuits-elections-fe784086a81497dcfe38f0eb5bffd36d |

All three of President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court appointees — Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett — joined Chief Justice John Roberts and the three liberal justices in declining to hear Texas v. Pennsylvania . In a short order issued Friday, the Court declared that Texas lacked standing to bring its case against Pennsylvania and three other states whose election rules were changed outside their respective state legislatures, as the Constitution requires. Throughout Barrett’s confirmation process this past fall, Democrats suggested that Trump had appointed her in exchange for favorable judgements during the election. Barrett denied that the president had ever raised the election with her at all. The three new Trump appointees voted with their liberal colleagues, whose votes were never in doubt. Roberts has lately moved toward the liberal camp, and voted accordingly. Ironically, only Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, both appointed by Trump’s Republican predecessors (George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, respectively), voted to hear the case. Four justices out of the nine would have had to agree to hear the case for it to have proceeded at the Supreme Court. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/12/11/all-3-trump-supreme-court-appointees-decline-texas-election-case/ |

Lol, We told them, bt they decided to keep decieving themselves. Meanwhile, trump is cashing out big time. More than $200 millions as at last count. Watchout, he will use the money to create a political action committee (PAC) & maybe use some to settle his debts. On a serious note what excuses will trumpist say na? Iamzik Righteousness89 Jashub Openbusiness Johnnyessence drskyfly007 Shelumiel you people should come ohhh, your saviour & anoited one has been thrashed again by no less than the United States Supreme Court. Pls come with your excuses & wailing. |
yes, he is coming back to host the Apprentice show. hurray. Definitely can't wait. |
When countless number of people were dying of covid 19 around the world, you were no where to be found to conduct miracles & healing. You & your family stayed safe. You didn't go to isolation centres to heal the sick. But now that the virus has largely subsided in this part of the world, you come out to make a mockery of yourself & people who has lost their lives including brave healthcare workers. While you were in hiding, actual healers were risking their lives in the front lines to care for the infected, sick & dying. Covid 19 is hoax you say, why not go to Italy, UK & other hotspots to prove this. |
Successdude:Brother, you are within your right to repudiate the contract on the grounds of failure of the purchaser to pay the complete balance of the purchase price within the agreed time frame. After all no deed has been executed. However, i will advise you or your lawyer to write to him to formally demand full payment of the money or else you repudiate the contract. Make sure you have a copy of the letter. It is even better for you that no deed of transfer/conveyance has been executed yet. |
Iamzik:That's not true. The United States Supreme Court refused to entertain it some days back. |
Iamzik:After SCOTUS decision doesn't favour trump, you people will shift the goalpost again to on the 14 when electors votes. After majority of electors confirms Biden as winner you will shift the goalpost to January when Congress meets. And after Congress votes & ratifies Biden as the winner, you will shift the goalpost to January 20th 2021. After Biden is sworn in on January 20th 2021, you move the goalpost to 2024 & so on & so on. Just accept trump lost & be done with it so you can have peace of mind. |
It is not only about creating deadlines & timeframes for speedy adjudication of civil & criminal matters. It calls for a reformation of the Nigeria Judicial system. You have to substantially increase the numbers of judges inorder to decrease the caseloads on each judges. Also budget of the judiciary should be increased. |
SpaceX’s Starship prototype has exploded while attempting to land after its test launch from the company’s rocket facility in Boca Chica, Texas. Live video of Wednesday’s test showed the self-guided rocket landing at speed following a controlled descent before disappearing in a ball of flame. Despite the catastrophic end to the six-and-a-half-minute test, SpaceX entrepreneur Elon Musk was thrilled. “Mars, here we come!!” he tweeted . The Starship rocket destroyed in the accident was a 16-storey-tall prototype for the heavy-lift launch vehicle being developed by Musk’s private space company to carry humans and 100 tons of cargo on future missions to the moon and Mars. The test flight had been intended to reach an altitude of 41,000 feet (12,500 metres), propelled by three of SpaceX’s newly developed Raptor engines for the first time. SpaceX did not make clear whether the rocket had flown that high. Musk said immediately following the landing mishap that the rocket’s “fuel header tank pressure was low” during descent, “causing touchdown velocity to be high”. He added that SpaceX had obtained “all the data we needed” from the test and hailed the rocket’s ascent phase a success. SpaceX made its first attempt to launch Starship on Tuesday, but a problem with its Raptor engines forced an automatic abort just one second before liftoff. The complete Starship rocket, which will stand 394ft (120m) tall when combined with its super-heavy first-stage booster, is the company’s next-generation fully reusable launch vehicle and the centre of Musk’s ambitions to make human space travel more affordable and routine. Nasa awarded SpaceX $135m to help develop Starship, alongside competing vehicles from rival ventures Blue Origin, the space company owned by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, and Leidos-owned Dynetcis. The three companies are vying for future contracts to build the moon landers under Nasa’s Artemis program, which calls for a series of human lunar explorations within the next decade. SpaceX, based in Hawthorne, California, has been buying up residential properties in the Boca Chica village just north of the US-Mexico border in south-eastern Texas to make room for his expanding Starship facilities, which Musk envisions as a future “gateway to Mars”. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/dec/10/spacex-starship-sn8-explodes-on-landing-after-test-flight?CMP=fb_gu&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1607586222

Claudiusdeux:You summed it all. Fear & sentiments always worked be it politics or religion. |
Jashub:So what is newsmax then. |
Openbusiness:If only wishes were horses. SCOTUS can't suspend the Electoral college voting pending the resolution of any case before it. It will have to decide any case before the day the electors meet to cast their votes. |
Righteousness89:Newsmax factual & unbiased? please what are u smoking. Newsmax is basically a Republican mouthpiece & propaganda machine. While CNN maybe sometimes skew left it is still more likely centrist. Newsmax & OANN are openly Republican. |
Openbusiness:Please don't come online tomorrow to cry & claim SCOTUS is corrupt or satanist after they refuse to overturn the election results in trump's favour ohhh. |
Khayceeofficial:ohhh, you prefer someone who was appealing to evangelist Christians sentiments & they were all tripping. |
Juicegal:Chill, nothing will come out of this case. The only thing worthy of note is that it goes straight to SCOTUS being State vs States. If Texas was so concerned about the the electoral rules & procedures of those States been unconstitutional & ultra vires they should have sued before the election & have it redressed. Not after the election. The SCOTUS can't now invalidate millions of already casted legal votes all because of such procedures. The fact that Conservatives/Republicans are majority of the justices in SCOTUS will not really matter. They may find that such rules or procedures where made ultra vires bt to invalidate millions of mail in votes & thus overturn the election is what they surely won't do. |
Here's a head-scratcher: The use of cash has been declining for years in Britain, but demand for banknotes is skyrocketing. Nobody is quite sure where the money is going. A group of UK lawmakers said on Friday as much as £50 billion ($67.4 billion) in cash was "missing," and it urged the Bank of England to investigate. The money is "stashed somewhere but the Bank of England doesn't know where, who by or what for — and doesn't seem very curious," Meg Hillier, chair of the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which oversees government finances, said in a statement. "It needs to be more concerned about where the missing £50 billion is," she added. The Bank of England immediately pushed back. "Members of the public do not have to explain to the Bank why they wish to hold banknotes. This means that banknotes are not missing," a spokesperson said in a statement, adding that the central bank would continue to meet public demand for notes. Despite the increased use of digital payments, demand for cash has risen in most advanced economies since the global financial crisis, according to a 2018 report by the Bank for International Settlements. This has been partly driven by lower interest rates, the report said, which have diminished returns on savings held with banks. "We are seeing the increasing use of cash as a store of value, as opposed to for transactional purposes," chief cashier at the Bank of England Sarah John said in testimony before the Public Accounts Committee in October. Worries about the strength of financial institutions since the 2008 crisis have also contributed to this, she added. And while there was a sharp decline in demand for notes and coins during the peak of coronavirus lockdowns this year, it has since recovered, with people stockpiling even more cash at home as a result of the pandemic. The number of notes in circulation in Britain reached a record high of 4.4 billion in July, with a total value of £76.5 billion ($103 billion), according to a September report by the National Audit Office (NAO), which monitors government spending. This compares with 1.5 billion notes worth about £24 billion ($32.3 billion) in 2000. At the same time, the volume of cash payments has declined, a trend likely to accelerate because of the pandemic. A decade ago, cash was used in six out of 10 transactions; last year it was less than three. The Bank of England estimates that between 20% and 24% of the value of notes in circulation are used for cash transactions, with a further 5% held by UK households as savings. "Little is known about the remainder, worth approximately £50 billion, but possible explanations include holdings overseas for transactions or savings and possibly holdings in the UK of unreported domestic savings or for use in the shadow economy," the NAO said in its report. It recommended that the central bank, working with other public authorities, improve its understanding of what is driving the increase in demand for notes and who is holding the £50 billion. "This work might help inform wider policy, for example on tax evasion," it added. https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/04/business/missing-cash-bank-of-england-50-billion/index.html?utm_term=link&utm_medium=social&utm_content=2020-12-04T21%3A02%3A05&utm_source=fbCNN |
Thousands of doctors, teachers and others in high-risk groups have signed up for COVID-19 vaccinations in Moscow starting Saturday, a precursor to a sweeping Russia-wide immunization effort. The vaccinations come three days after President Vladimir Putin ordered the launch of a “large-scale” COVID-19 immunization campaign even though a Russian-designed vaccine has yet to complete the advanced studies needed to ensure its effectiveness and safety in line with established scientific protocols. The Russian leader said Wednesday that more than 2 million doses of the Sputnik V jab will be available in the next few days, allowing authorities to offer jabs to medical workers and teachers across the country starting late next week. Moscow, which currently accounts for about a quarter of the country’s new daily infections, moved ahead of the curve, opening 70 vaccination facilities on Saturday. Doctors, teachers and municipal workers were invited to book a time to receive a jab, and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that about 5,000 signed up in a few hours after the system began operating on Friday. Russia boasted that Sputnik V was the world’s “first registered COVID-19 vaccine” after the government gave it regulatory approval in early August. The move drew criticism from international experts, who pointed out that the vaccine had only been tested on several dozen people at the time. Putin has shrugged off doubts about it, saying in August that one of his daughters was among the early vaccine recipients. Over the past months, Sputnik V has been offered to medical workers and teachers even as it was still in the middle of advanced trials. Several top officials said they also have received the jabs, and earlier this week the Russian military began vaccinating crews of navy ships scheduled to depart on a mission. Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said Wednesday that more than 100,000 people in Russia already have received the shots. The free vaccine is offered to people aged 18 to 60 who don’t suffer from chronic illnesses and aren’t pregnant or breastfeeding. The two-shot Sputnik V was developed by the Moscow-based Gamaleya Institute. An advanced study among 40,000 volunteers was announced two weeks after the vaccine received government approval and that is still ongoing. Last month, developers of the vaccine said interim analysis of trial data showed it was 91.4% effective. The conclusion was based on 39 infections among 18,794 study participants that received both doses of either the vaccine or a placebo, which is a much lower number of infections than Western drugmakers have looked at when assessing the effectiveness of their vaccines. Two other Russia-designed vaccines are also undergoing tests. On Wednesday, Britain became the first country in the West to authorize the use of a vaccine against the coronavirus developed by U.S. drugmaker Pfizer and Germany’s BioNTech. Russia has been swept with a resurgence of the outbreak this fall, with numbers of new infections exceeding the levels recorded early in the pandemic, but the authorities so far have refrained from a tight lockdown imposed in the spring. On Saturday, Russia reported a new record high of daily infections at 28,782, including 7,993 in Moscow. The government task force has recorded a total of 42,684 virus-related deaths since the start of the outbreak. Russia’s total of over 2.4 million confirmed cases is currently the fourth-largest caseload in the world behind the United States, India and Brazil. https://apnews.com/article/international-news-immunizations-moscow-coronavirus-pandemic-vladimir-putin-a814654e46118a8698eb815a4bdad343 |

Fox News opinion host Sean Hannity called for President Donald Trump to pardon himself on two separate occasions on Monday. Hannity hosted former national security adviser Michael Flynn's lawyer and former Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell on his radio show. In the segment, the two praised Trump's decision to issue a full pardon for Flynn . Hannity brought up the possibility of Trump pardoning himself and his family, saying, "the president out the door needs to pardon his whole family and himself because they want this witch hunt to go on in perpetuity." "They're so full of rage and insanity against the president I assume that the power of the pardon is absolute and that he should be able to pardon anybody that he wants to," Hannity added. Powell replied, "It is absolute, it's in the Constitution but I don't know about the ability to pardon himself." On his Fox News show later in the evening, Hannity harped on the same point with guest former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Referring to former special counsel Robert Mueller's deputy Andrew Weissmann's New York Times op-ed calling for prosecuting Trump once he is out of office, Hannity told Gingrich, "if that's what they wanna do, if Biden became president, I'd tell Trump, pardon yourself and pardon your family." https://africa.businessinsider.com/politics/fox-news-host-sean-hannity-suggests-trump-should-pardon-himself-and-his-family/q78th2f |
Hope this is true. First blackman to head the CIA will be huge for him. |
I just hope this top notched legal analysis help trumpist calm down & desist from attempting to subvert the choice of the American people. |
. Allow myself to be deceived as how? By now u suppose don know say I don't just talk for decoration. Do you think Trump was playing around when he said THE FIGHT IS JUST ABOUT TO START? He meant every word of it. Alternate Electors have been selected in those 4 Swing States, approved and chosen by the GOP led Legislature, which makes it 100% legal
