The Nigerian Army said it has discovered a shallow grave where a missing major general, Muhammed Alkali, was buried after he was killed.

The army said the body was later exhumed and reburied somewhere else by the killers, according to the information provided to it by some of the arrested suspects.

According to the army, the shallow grave was confirmed by four independent sources in the community and also by sniffer dogs.

A PREMIUM TIMES correspondent who visited the area of the shallow grave reports that there is a distance of one kilometre between the main road and the location of the grave.

Mr Alkali was the immediate past chief of administration of the Nigerian Army. He was declared missing on September 3 when he was traveling from Abuja to Bauchi State. He is believed to have been killed by his abductors.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the car of the missing general was found weeks ago in the community’s pond after it was drained.

A blood-stained T-shirt, a boxer short and a pair of shoes believed to belong to the general were found in the car.

Since the discovery of the car, there have been fears the military could attack the community in retaliation.

A day after the car was found, the army cordoned off the Dura Du community and arrested 30 suspects in connection with the suspected murder of the general.

Apart from the discovery of the missing car, two other vehicles were also recovered from the pond.

Following the arrest of the 30 suspects, residents of the community fled for fear of military action but the army pledged to conduct the search with respect for human rights.

On Friday, a major general, B. A. Akinruluyo, the General Officer Commanding, 3 Division, Rukuba Barracks, narrated how the shallow grave was discovered.

“Please note that four different sources not known to each other at various times took us to the opened shallow grave where the senior officer was earlier buried but subsequently removed,” he said.

“Furthermore, sniffer dogs that have been cultured with the personal effects of the senior officer led us to the same open shallow grave. That was the only grave we were led to by different people and sniffer dogs. We did not go to any other grave as the operation was carried out based on credible intelligence.

Almakura who is renowned in Lafia, Nasarawa State for mindless reckless driving as though he won a stage 5 race in the game “Need for Speed” has killed at least five people since his father became the governor of the state due to his driving menace.

SecretReporters gathered that on Sunday 14th of October, 2018 at about 8pm in Lafia (Mararaba roundabout), the impious son of the governor Khalil Almakura who was alleged to be chasing one of his numerous girlfriends on a very top speed as though he was acting an American movie, knocked down four people, including a woman who immediately lost her left hand as well as a man who lost his two legs with two others apparently dead (unconfirmed) and scores injured.

It was further revealed that following the incident, an angry mob comprising of family members of the victims who witnessed the accident and have proberbly heard about the appalling lifestyle of the governor`s son, moved in to lynch Khalil but for the combined efforts of the vigilante and other security operatives who rescued him from their hands.

It is alleged that security operatives and media personnel within the state have been given strict orders to conceal information about the incident from the public as it may impede the election bid of Gov. Tanko Almakura. We however gathered that the First Lady, Hajiya Salamatu Tanko Al-Makura sneaked into Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital Lafia, Nasarawa State, where the victims are hospitalized to foot the bills. The Governor has also gone there secretly to check on the victims.

The Governor’s 27 years old son we gathered is allegedly a drug addict, who was sent to school in a Malaysian University but dropped out, before he was ferried back to Nigeria, where he struggled to graduate from the state owned university.

According to a resident in the state, the governor`s re-election will only fuel the supposed “blood thirsty” nature of his son Khalil Almakura who has always been in the news for the wrong reasons and drives at top speed within residential areas and non express ways ramming into anything that stands on his way including humans.

The Toyota Corolla he drove to hit the victims is beyond repairs.

The Governor and his Chief Press Secretary did not take their calls, when we reached them for comment.

Names of those barred by Executive Order 6.

A former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), 13 former governors and seven ex- ministers have been barred from travelling out of the country under Executive Order 6 (EO6) issued yesterday by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The restriction followed the judicial affirmation of the constitutionality and legality of the Executive Order 6 (EO6).

The watch-list and restriction were put in place pending the conclusion of the cases against those affected.

Also on the watch list seen last night by newsmen are: ex-governors Saminu Turaki (Jigawa), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Adebayo Alao-Akala (Oyo), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Rasheed Ladoja (Oyo), Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia), Danjuma Goje (Gombe), Attahiru Bafarawa (Sokoto), Muazu Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu); Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Gbenga Daniel (Ogun); and Ibrahim Shehu Shema (Katsina).
