I stop work today. I am very hopeful that better opportunity will soon come up. I feel like I am being released from prison.

Many people asking where have I being cos I only went for off once this year.

Sincerely, most people comments are direct reflection of my case. My fear to quit isn't about lack of self-worth or poor self-esteem but based on my previous experience after I quitted my initial job to participate in d National Youth Service Scheme in 2012. A decision that still hunt me till date.

In 2014, I got another job as a Call Center Agent & had to relocate to Ibadan. I was affected by d retrenchment in d company in 2016 & had to relocate back to Kaduna in 2017.



I couldn't secure another employment. That moment was a devastating one that I wouldn't wish my enemy. It was hell where u pray God should take ur life.

In the year 2019, I got an assistance to start a business selling small phones & accessories but my shop got burgled few months after I started operations. And, all effort to revive d business proved abortive. Then, early last year a friend linked me to this current job.

So, whenever I want to quit, I get scared that I might face that devastating moment again.

Nairaland & u all has being my family. I will quit dis job dis very week. My confidence has being built beyond my imagination.

At least in 3 months you should have been able to apply and at least find something worth doing than this .

These are jobs that should be filled by kids waiting for UNI admission who don't want to be idle. Not one for a grown adult with an HND.

That sounds like a bet9ja cashier kind of job. My advice is quit in your mind, start looking for a new job or go and learn handwork. I worked once with them and it was hell. Always broke and owing the company, colleagues and sellers around. Then I decided to quit, so I went for a security training, I will lie to my boss am making an emergency travel or am not feeling well. Until I was done with my training.
I received several suspension and deductions but my mind was no longer there. My focus was somewhere else, when I eventually left it took my boss by surprise. I was good at the job but he never appreciated it. Today am now a CSO of a school

Yes, the government has failed us and there is little or no job for many to compete for, however there are still jobs you can take up and help yourself that could pay you more than 12k per week depending on the skills you have and can acquire within a year if you so desire.

I have come a long way in life to solicit pity.
I have seen d good, d bad & d ugly side of life.

I have seen d worst that I almost sell my kidney but thank God, I didn't.

Once upon a time, I was duin well with good apartment, lots of friends & some cash to throw around but everything changed when I quit d job I was doing then to go for NYSC, that's precisely 2012.

The result which I lost my apartment & started squatting, got lean that people thought I have contracted HIV.
I do hide from people who knew me b4 whenever I see them coming.
That was few years ago.

Why would I seek for pity now?
If I get help while seeking for advice why won't I accept?

In this present Nigeria I beg leave o so that people wont bother you for bills thinking you are working because this is not work but slavery .

This is exactly what I have being experiencing from both friends & families.

Not long ago, I had to settle a score with a friend who felt that I have forgotten him because I now work & earn. Billing from my mum as dad is no more. Also, younger ones with their own palava.

It isn't even a structured organization. It's a betshop. I would have manage to stay but I hardly get tips because people don't usually come there to play game.

The prefer going to d other shop which is very close on d same road because it is well- organized with printers & other equipments working. I am d only person left in this shop, printers not working well, poor network, e.t.c.

Can't imagine my Momsy or friends asking me for 3k or less, I can't provide.

The 12k isn't even guaranteed. There was a time I got really broke & I requested for my salary.

Meanwhile, the month has ended & it was d second month, around 21st or 25th. Guy, thought I should take I.O.U. but I asked why don't he just pay me.

I was surprised that he got angry & he did check & balance, I was paid like 6k then & he said dat I shouldn't write any short for him again.

I often ask b4 I get paid. If not, he will just lock up. Last month, I was paid 3k after all d check & balance.

It's not being easy. Life b4 graduation was cool & nice but all that changed after graduation.

12k salary & not consistent. Always broke.

Can u do this job? Is it advisable to continue wit dis job?

I am stuck & afraid to quit.
I am a graduate but decided to take dis job early last year when nothing was forthcoming.

Work where u earn 12k, n most times u don't get to collect d amount complete. U collect 3k or 5k after deduction of shorts & I.O.U. cos u don't even get paid at d end of d month.

Salary is usually not paid at d end of month but second month. Maybe mid or towards ending of d other month.
Bills piling up & always broke. 1year + on d job but nothing to show for it.

Work from Monday to Sunday. Resume b4 8am & close by 8:30pm or 9pm.

It's being very challenging & I felt I should share to get some advice.
