Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Any Hope For A Graduate After Six Years Of Joblessness? by edelweiss(f): 9:30am On Oct 16, 2012
My advise to u is to do any legitimate job available to raise capital,no matter how small the salary is, many of us don't have people to help us raise capital for business, the banks wants çolletleral,so all road seemed block but I for one know the is always a way,and being female who VOWED 2 ave things straight I planned a few thing.I graduated wit a 2'1 Unical biz mgt, lookd 4 a job for almost a yr,but I decided to take a 25k job, while at d job, my first salary, I went to trade fair and told d owner of a perfume shop that I want to trade with 20k, I was given 4 5oml perfumes, which I ended up selling for like 7k each by the end of the next month I had up to 60k, I kept puting my little salary into my business'in six month I was worth more than half a million,(sincerely speaking all the money was from the perfume sales and salary)I was going to work one day I saw a shop at a bustop I stoped by and told them I wil come pay for the shop at d end of the day,I got dat shop with no exact tin in mind to sell, after I got the shop,I looked round d neighbourhood and asked myself what could I supply d area? That is how I started selling wine and spirit, I employed a sales girl, I know my stock taking'I was still working still selling my perfumes but my capital was diversify so I tot of how to make more money,I decided to ave a sales promo 'which was buy 5 100ml perfume or introduce me to people to buy it and get one free. Come and see girl friends scotting for people to buy my perfume, I enlarged my clientele, after dat promo boom I entered selling shirts along side it, today I tell u at 31, with just 25k salary I own dis business and a few I didn't mention and d natural law of money set in,I ave got anoda job in an international firm, all thru d connections of my client! So young man, pls go back to ur drawing table ,tap into positivity, and think, u will make a way for ur self! I even cleaned newly built houses to add to my capital! It was all about survival! So u too can do it, best of luck, MEG

Romance / Re: What Do Women Value Most In Men? by edelweiss(f): 3:01am On Sep 25, 2012
I don't know why men always have the notion that we girls always seek money from men! What I desire most in a man is a man who listens to me,not listening with a conditioned mind, its not all about the talking its about comprehension. I undrstand that words means differently btw d sexes but a man shld try and key into a womans's thought process vise versa. I like intelligence, maturity and a man who plays his role as a man, taking the lead and not him trying to exact his manhood! Education is very essential ooo !

shymexx: When I said 99% of the female posters on NL are not intellectuals/intelligent, a couple of people thought I was being cocky... undecided undecided

Most of the female posters on NL say things, I already know - we need some intelligent women on this forum... I visit a lot of forums and I see women hold their own in different subject matter - from politics, culture, foreign policy, military hardware, to sports. However, I'm yet to see that on NL, except last week when I saw Desola's back and forth with Gbawe. It's just shameful that most of the women on here only talk about celebrities, family, and romance - who cares about that??

I need some women up in here to stimulate me intellectually!!!

PS: Not kobojunkie's type of intelligence(pseudo-intellectual) - that thing just argues blindly with the same insane rhetorical crap... We need some female critical thinkers!!
ciphoenix: same reason i became passive. Insults have become a norm
what is the essense of wasting time and energy to contribute when aanything we say isn't taken seriously? We can be constructive critics if only our words wld be taken seriously. Most of d comments I see here are very juvenile! I just read and smh. God blessed us with foresight, but I believe if people pay for advise then, the advise or words wld be taken seriously. Its a matter of choice,we wld never get banned for keeping silent, and I for one (a female)wld rather keep quiet than end up being abused.

Esss:

You really believe this shiit?!!

YOU KNOW THAT SHOE WOULD NOT HAVE SURVIVED THE TRAUMA OF BEING RAPED?!! Like really?!!

Do you know how many Nigerian girls have been r@ped in their life time?! Heck, if girls would be honest, atleast 3 in 5 girls have been r@ped. I know several of them that have been r@ped. Infact, one of my friends was r@ped twice by her driver and armed robbers.. Today she is happily married. Another girl was abused constantly for years by a relative before her father found out..

She would have survived it. It takes time and counselling, but eventually she would have overcome it.. Time heals all wounds..

And that shiit about your paryers and her soul tormenting them is crap.. I'm sure she cried and called God just before she got shot and he didnt answer her distress call, ne your prayers wan come turn water to wine?!

Dude, she didnt need to die.. As much as its commendable her fighting for her virtue, but she didnt need to die. It would have been a different ball game if she got merked after the r@pe, but in this case, I beg to differ.. She didnt have to die.
at exactly her age four armed men came to Rob me at my house ,full fledge robbery that lasted for 20mins. dark night it was for me,but believe me at exactly her age I thought I would rather kill mysef than have them all rape me,but God save me they weren't sex starved, the just came to clear my stuffs and they were apologetic in the process like sis sorry ooo and I told them no problem the sholud take anytin they want. But in another scenerio I don't know if I will call it rape too where a date threathens to beat u if u don't comply,I simply asked him to wear a condom, and after all he was apologetic but the deed has bin done'am still alive but its just a experience I shudder when I remember and when a man gets to energethic and arcrobatic in bed,it makes me feel as if am bin raped. U will never understand it.

On God knows how thhey cope, but they are some that are okay with 2 or 3.but any man who tells me he has got just a girl is a damn liar! They hav main chicks and sex mates!

What started all this and when will aLl this end?how can people find joy in killing helpless humans?if the really have scores to settle and they feel they have the power, they should go and meet those their primary targets, the main people that are making them do all this! and leave we ordinary Nigerians, let's even bear what the government itself is doing to us. Its so so sad! How the mighty has so fallen in all.
