Please help me clarify this: if you have a 2:2 in business management, would you need to do a PG before going for an MBA? Thanks. |
Thanks to the founder and users of Nairaland, I have been able to advertise for and receive excellent professional services. I am presently looking for a very creative (Video) editor. The Project is a pilot (Dummy) episode of a 30 minute TV show and I’ve got 3 hours of “Rushes”. If you’ve got the creativity and skills to do what those guys at Nigezie are doing, or you know anybody who does, please send me a mail to m2chairman@yahoo.com ASAP. Am looking at a max of 3 days work or less and I‘ll want to see what you’ve done before and where you work from before negotiating. This project holds very promising immediate and long term prospects. I know quite some editors but I have gotten quite some very good services at amazingly cost effective rates by placing adverts here on Nairaland. ![]() Thank you. |
Hi good people, Kindly assist me plan a media event by posting the financial (-or is operational) calendar of any or all the banks you know. Thank you. |
Bob Manuel's Jerky and almost comical anchoring + 9 misled, questionable (some actually speak Oshodi english), but well compensated supporting actors + One lead actor (who will jump at the SUV and probably half of the advertised cash prize) = Gulder Ultimate ![]() |
Hi Guys, Thanks a lot for all your responses. Please we've gotten enough submissions and are currently trying to shortlist. To all who who made submissions, I say a very big THANK YOU. I had tried replying all the mails I got but please accept my sincere apologies if you didn't get a reply. Thank you. |
Hi webmasters, We are looking for a website designer for a new TV series. We want a full multimedia site with forum, chat, video and SMS to Web Integration. I absolutely admire the concept of the SOUNDCITY (www.soundcity.tv) and DRAGONS DEN Nigeria(www.dragonsdennigeria.com) websites. Peace. |
Thanks a million Soji. Will look in on you when i pass by. |
Hi guys, saw this new program - CHAT STREET on TV this week. Was Impressed with the editing. unfortunately couldn't get back in time to see all the credits but just in time ewnough to know that the brains behind it is GENESIS STUDIOS. Please, is there anyone in the house who knows the address of this GENESIS STUDIOS? Program has quite some pootentials (that's if they can persuade Kachi - the host to minimize his queer americana theatrics) for one. One love! |
instead of being put to a stop by one or two coding or design errors which have substitutes to getting done, use their alternatives. Guess what, "Don't Believe You Are Stoppable" so start using your alternatives later you can find the solution to this little task. @OmniPotens, Today, very sad and depressed, I was determined to abandone the site design but then I just read your post and the reality of Adidas advert came to me - "impossible is nothing", and I was like sure thing, I can do this just that I haven't gotten something right. Am so touched by kind-hearted people like you and yawa(I really wish I'd get to know her more). Anyways, like I said, I just graduated from the kindergarten of HTML to CSS and trying my hand in JS will be more of a suicidal mission so I was ready to stick with my level, for now.I just wanna say that, I kept tweaking the css and somehow, the error disappeared (or not glaring now) Am ready to move on to the next level and after this am going into JS.I wanna thank y'all once again and when the site goes live, you guys are gonna be aknowledged as the forces that helped kept me going. I am grateful and I thank God for everything. PEACE! NB:I am still gonna bring my little headache when I get stuck |
Ok, Here's a screenshot of the site in FF and IE. You can see the problem is from the buttons in FF. But I am hoping it's a very simple error o my side.
|
more of the buttons here. I hope you're able to access it this time. |
@yawa-ti-de You are right, I tried it and there wasn't any difference btw the <br class> and the div. I've gone through the code well but I don't seem to see where the error is. But, I tried giving a line-height rule to the <p> in between the flash buttons. It got the leftnav same height with the prize box in FF but then, become too short in IE. Am still trying an alternative way to display the source file and images. I'll try sending them to you through your email addy if you don't mind. thanks a mill. ****************** ok. am able to upload the source file now but not so lucky with the images and buttons. ![]() |
in my untrained eye, the problem seem to be with the flash buttons in the leftnav div which I genereted with DW. In FF the buttons looks like they added some margins into the element which causes it to overflow a bit but IE render it well. What I really want to achieve is have the prize_box and leftnav end the same height. again, knowledge shared to me is the greatest investment to mankind. I am so greatful. |
Thanks uspry1. I used SWISHmax to develop the flash for prize_box. @yawa-ti-de, I had wanted to upload the source file but am restricted even when I zipped it. I wonder how else I can pass it across. if you don't mind, can I send it through your email addy? Let me know if there alternative way I can send the file. Thanks so much for ur time. |
Hi good people, Please, am still battling this lil site of mine. Ok, i thought I was getting everything ok until I previewed it in both IE7 and firefox. I have a flash slide in the prize_box but the flash buttons I generated from DW and then, the leftnav div overflows in firefox, knocking off the orange_box for my content instead of flowing right under the prize_box div. I can't seems to find where am getting it wrong especially when it displays ok in IE so I thought there are better hands here that can help me out. Please have the patience to go through the codes. Am still some dang greenhorn in the site business .Here's my code below: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> yawa-ti-de, There's something about passing knowledge, you will always be a reference and part of any success as a result of the "little" or "insignificant" knowledge you pass on in your life time. I am truly grateful for your input. The link you directed me is full of very helpful resources. I'll let you know the success of the site in future. Thanks. |
Hi good people, Please somebody go through this codes and tell me why I can't see the #content_block. Am very eager to learn from better hands. Here's the code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>Welcome to my practice page!</title> <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="source.css"> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { background: white url(images/bg.gif) no-repeat} --> </style> </head> <body > <div id="container_main"> <div id="header_main"></div> <div id="headline"></div> <div id="content_block"></div> </div> </body> </html> and the CSS: /* CSS Document */ #container_main { position: absolute; left: 130px; width:750px; height:auto; background-color: #FFFFFF; padding-bottom: 5px; border-style:groove; border-width:medium; border-color:#CCCCCC; } #header_main { width:inherit; height:150px; background: url(images/millionaireheader1.jpg); } #headline { background-image: url(images/millionairenigeria2.gif); width:750px; height:57px; } #content_block { position: relative; left: 200px; width:500px; height: 400px; color: #FF6600; visibility: visible; z-index: 2px; } I just want the page to flow according to the contents. And how can I add rounded corners at the foot of the page? photoshop? I'll appreciate the advice and inputs. Thanks |
Hi guys, Abeg, can some experts in the house help me with this flash nav. Am a self-learner and trying to create the button on this link (http://www.tutorialvault.net/view-tutorial/2367) but I got stuck at the invisible button step. I don't think the tutorial is complete as regards the steps to create exactly that kind of button. Please I need advice on how to create that nav with 9 links (HOME,ABOUT,HOW TO PLAY,RULES,CONDITIONS,THE RECORDING,THE CREW,EPISODES,FAQs,ORGANIZERS. Am designing my first website job and am kinda nervous with the flash thing. I'll appreciate a better tut. Help please!!!! |
Hi Folks, Anyone know if i can pay for a yahoo web hosting account with Graphcard? or if you can help me make the payment please holler. Thanks. |
Chinosxl Saw your mail. Sent you a reply. Thanks bro. |
Oops! i forgot. models must be from 2002 up. thanks. |
Hi Folks, Wanted: An Audi A6, below 100k miles. Preferably Silver or black. Full options and i mean FULL OPTIONS! Budget is 1.5M . may be willing to pay more if i see a ride that is worth it. email the pics and your contact to edisco1000@yahoo.com. we will take it up from there! Cheers. |
Guys, Thanks for your contributions. However, the rides we're talking about are not Nigerian used - the neighbor in question is a car dealer (or to put it better, he imports cars). But i think I'm getting a feel of what I wanted to know. Please, any contributions yet on the Audi? Thanks. |
Good people, Please help me with your informed contributions. I and my brother are currently negotiating with a neighbor for some cars. I had wanted a Benz and he had offered us a 2000 model C class and E class respectively, both within 90K miles and from all observations with well functioning and desirable features. They ran well too on the test drive and the guy has no problem with giving us the VIN of the cars and even offered to pay at a nearby cafe should we want to look up the VIN then. He fixed the last price of the C-class at 1 Mill and the E class at 1.8 Mill. A mutual friend of ours is trying to convince us that the cars may have problems just because they are too cheap for those prices. Please I want to ask, are the cars really cheap at those prices? And please anyone knows the going price of an Audi A6? My bro wants one. But Please help us with an accurate price estimate here first. Thanks. |
People. I'd gotten an alert from interswitch on their so called MAXI-SECURE program asking card holders to subscribe to the new security measures for their ATM cards only to visit their site and find out that all the links i clicked on were not functional. even the mail i sent to their info@interswitchng.com bounced back. Is there anybody who has tried the same successfully? abi the site www.interswitchng.com no be the correct site? Abi the whole thing na fraud? |
I got a call from a private number last week and the dialogue (as much as I can remember) ran thus: Caller: Good afternoon sir, can I speak to Mr. Edet of C-edgemedia? Me: Speaking, how may I help you? Caller: We need your services. Me: Who am I speaking with? Caller: Em I am Mr. bla-bla bla (I’d forgotten the name he fronted) you gave me your card last year in Port Harcourt but I am no longer in Lagos, I was transferred to the LNG in bonny…, Me: (Suspicious, cos I just incorporated my coy in November) So? Caller: I am going to flash you with a number. It is the number of a Shell (or Mobil, I can’t remember what he said again) contractor, please call him. Me: For what? Caller: We need your services sir. Me: What kind of services? Caller: Media services sir. And he cut off. Only to buzz me with this number: 08026812647 That was the second time I was getting that kind of call in less than 4 days so I sent him a text directing him to this page and I am encouraging you to paste any such number you get here too. BEWARE OF CALLS FROM 08026812647 |
I had posted the topic and mission accomplished, all but forgotten about it, so I was pleasantly surprised when I logged on and saw the feedbacks. I had actually gotten a producer and we are presently working with the director to put finishing touches to the shooting draft. @Robbie Lex I admit you made a very good point in my limiting myself with the 50k, but truth be told, I’d only added that to serve as a benchmark. Besides, the main priority here is to get a launch pad to show how good you are. For a public forum like this, I think what I put up should serve its purpose, which is: whet appetites to write and demand for more. And it did. Thanks all the same. Thanks all the same. @ Seun, I’d hoped my topic wouldn’t attract your attention. I’m flattered that it did. And one of the many reasons why we are not yet ready for Action movies is that it still only in Nollywood that you see a 5-minute car shoot-out and after the whole shots, bros watch well, no glass go break! So until we have the SFX to convincingly pull of the stunts, I tell you, the best bet is to weave a thrilling plot around your everyday Nigerian family. And believe me Oga seun, the market for good melodramas (I think you meant family dramas), are grossly underexploited. And if you think the market is full of melodramas please tell me what you will call the bulk of Hollywood films. On comedy, while I think a sitcom is a brave attempt, to most Nigerians (I mean the Nollywood patrons) the notion of comedy is simply split between Opa Williams’ night of a thousand laughs (or its many knock offs), and aki and paw-paw Onitsha productions and their likes. Like I earlier said, it is laudable, but I doubt the commercial sustainability of a sitcom on TV now with the prevalence of Mexican soaps. |

My2cents, I have sent the pages to your email address on your profile and the one @ webmastersofafrica.com. I hope it helps you to help me. I am really appreciative. Thanks a million. |
My2cents, Thanks a million for ur helpful contributions. I'm going to paste d page, and do all you suggested ASAP. Once more thanks a lot bro. |

so I was ready to stick with my level, for now.
Am ready to move on to the next level and after this am going into JS.
