Ighalo yet to have an explosive game or offensive force as Nacho.

Finito.
Explosive in what aspect?? Ighalo has had better performances in his first season at Watford in the epl if we're being objective.
Nacho is a better finisher and has a final ball. Anything else he lags behind Ighalo. Ighalo was turning CBs inside out in his first epl season with the "Ighalo scoop". So abeg don't make it seem he's like Jan Koller or Giroud

Manchester City have broken down teams repeatedly who rely on sitting deep and we did not do it relying on power but mobility, creativity and lethality. As I said, due to our lack of bravery in our play, we idolize power hold up play that actually makes us blunt upfront.
We don't have the ball carriers and technicians that city possess.
Like I've said - Ighalo is not even your typical old fashioned hold up striker. He's a good dribbler as well.

Kai. Make we leave this matter. Both players are average at best based on world standard. We don’t have strikers banging goals consistently in the big leagues judging by the past season. We can make do with both of them for now. At least with Nacho, there is still room for growth
Fair enough. Their profiles are even different. Rohr will decide at the end

iheanacho worked against Algeria, the Algerian manager and an Algerian journalist hammered on Nacho's mobility being key to our success. Against South African, Nacho's mobility was there, caused the South Africans problems but due to lack of creativity behind our front line, we did not take advantage of it. That should be a plus but people repeatedly tried to paint his play as a negative which I disagree.
Nacho had an average game against Algeria. We've discussed this deeply for ages now.
Rohr would not have brought back Ighalo if Nacho was great as you say.
We saw the difference when Ighalo replaced him in the starting 11 against Cameroon and Zambia.

You need to watch the game again. When Ighalo came on, he hardly hard chance to breathe. Every moment he got on the ball, the Argentines pressed in droves and retrieved the ball from him. The only thing people can hinge on is that Ighalo won fouls but that was due to his inability to break down the opposing defence.

When Ighalo had the chances he missed, the Argentines were pushing for the win.

Gerrit?
Ighalo won fouls for us. He held the ball up reasonably well and was mobile enough. You're making it look like he's Giroud or something. He's quite mobile and can dribble pass defenders...something Nacho doesn't seem to do too well.

Onyekuru - Nacho - Musa will make a more mobile, creative and lethal setup than playing Ighalo in the center. I always look at the Forward setup as a unit and we going with mobility, creativity and lethality as the ideal ingredient for it.
Will not work against a deep block and will depend on if we have a ball carrier behind.
We saw as much against Iceland till Etebo had a better half and Iceland opened up a bit.
Ighalo at the middle can hold and link up play better against a deep block

Dessers!

Whether an option is reasonable or not is subjective. For instance, Ighalo is unreasonable to me, but is reasonable to you.

Everybody is not supposed to agree on one option. That is why there is such a thing as an opinion.

If Ighalo is our only true number 9, then we don't need a number 9.

You people should allow us complain mbok. There is freedom of speech, besides, Ighalo's exit from the team is coming. Na so Echiejile been dey disturb our view for years, today, they are phasing him out. Ighalo's time will come.
Yeah it will come but till then we have to make do with him. I'd also like Dessers to be tried out too.

Ighalo looked better because the Argentines were pushing for a goal to keep them in the competition. With a more lethal forward and the chances we created, we would have ripped the Argentines to shred. No disrespect to Ighalo but with the amount of creative, pacy, mobile forwards we are having, Ighalo will be a draw back to our tempo, unless Rohr still wants us playing in a boring manner.

Finito.
Unless I'm missing something, but wasn't Ighalo brought in at half time when we were 1-0 down?? He held the ball better than Nacho. Yes he's not a great finisher like Nacho but he has better hold up play, is far more skillful and is just as mobile or maybe even more.
If you're going to play the likes of Musa and Onyekuru outwide, Ighalo makes even more sense.
We've done this Nacho as a 9 thing against Algeria and SA. It didn't work out.

Put Ighalo in Leicester City today, he would not start ahead of Nacho. It is just here you people can hide under proven over and over. Ighalo has not had better top performances, finishers or brilliant play than Nacho.

Ighalo plays because he suits when our team resorts to conservative, negative football. If we want to play in an offensive, creative, explosive manner, Ighalo will not come close.

If we are going against a side with creative, defensive holding play which most top teams utilize, a player like Ighalo becomes a liability. He lacks the creativity to drop deep and create for the wingers which is why he hardly has assists.
Ighalo would easily fit in at Leicester. Have you forgotten he was superb for Watford at the championship and his first season in the epl at Watford??
He had a poor season when Watford switched to a 4-3-3 with Mazzari playing him outwide at times.
His pairing with Deeney was great - imagine what he'd do with someone like Vardy upfront?
I don't even think Watford had more creative players than the current Leicester side

Lol... Nacho Cameo vs Croatia nko? Didn't it Trump Iggy's poor showing?

Against Iceland, no one can say Nacho was poor. He was very decent. Fact. Ighalo came in and also did good.

Against Argentina... Nacho played with a knock picked up from the Iceland game and was still trusted upfront in a risky move by Rohr in a do-or-die game. Why? because even Rohr knows that Nacho is more of a threat goals-wise than Ighalo. But sadly ,. It backfired and Nacho got smashed with a boot to the face and had to be taken off at halftime.

Ighalo came on and started so brightly.... He pressed.. dazzled and shone. This was the Iggy we all wanted to see and more... And when the time came for him to give us that more... What happened? He flunked! That one moment spoilt all his good work. The bottomoime remains that Ighalo's abysmal SE goals record persists. He has to put a stop to the poor run.

Iggy is a natural and will get the nod in a lone striker set-up but if we want goals, sadly his record shows he has been so abysmal unlike Nacho.
Well if we're not changing systems, then Ighalo remains a better option.
Nacho for now isn't an out and out striker and Ighalo is the only true one we have. Simple.

Had a better performance? Lol... Without goals? Look at how we promote failure for the team... Lol

So Nacho have not had fine performances too in all his time for Nigeria upfront? This is soooooooo presposterous in its thinking. Hahahaha

Even against Iceland, Nacho had a very decent game. He even started the move for our first goal. Funny. Lol...

Look, the huge difference between Nacho and Iggy is that Nacho is far more clinical even as a makeshift no.9. As a forward, he is the all round better option too for Nigeria in almost any set-up. Even in a 4-2-3-1, Nacho is showing fine improvememts... All his preseason goals came as a top 9. He has also scored as a top 9 three times for us in addition to struggling as a top 9 against SA.

But after all is said and done, Nacho is the more lethal and better clinical forward compared to Iggy. Period.
Ighalo was better vs Argentina despite the missed chances. Ighalo had a better cameo against Iceland. He certainly held the ball up better and won fouls.
Rohr did not invite Ighalo back and immediately put him back in the starting 11 over Nacho in a 4-2-3-1 because he hates Nacho.
When last has Rohr played Nacho as a 9 since then?

But you are the one who has been pushing a lame defence because even with SE form, Ighalo has been poor.
Besides, you never pointed it out in your original post. And saying you meant SE performances ONLY still does not validate Ighalo because he too have been poor in recent games in front of goal (including WC games) and then, extending it, throughout his Super Eagles stay, he has been piss poor unlike Nacho whose Overall goals record in GWG colors is great
While he was poor, Ighalo had a better performance than Nacho. This isn't up for debate.
I went further in my initial post because if you ask who replaces Ighalo, most of you will say Nacho.
We all know Rohr is going back to his 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 formation. Nacho isn't a better option than Ighalo to lead the line - this is a fact that has been proven over and over again.
If we play 4-4-2 or 3-5-2, fine you can replace Nacho with Ighalo. But as a target man, it is pointless. There's no point in being a great finisher if you can't lead the line. Podolski was the best finisher for the German national team when he was at his peak yet he barely started as a LW or a CF...this is Germany we're talking about oo...not a SE without our most creative player.
That's why I've gone further.

You've said it all my bro. Iheanacho can't dribble, can't outrun defenders, can't even control the ball. He is just a good shooter/finisher. He may thrive in a team with a good midfield where he will be fed plenty of chances. With the current state of our team, Ighalo remains the best striker for us......at least for now.
It's the point I've been trying to make. If you don't want to invite Ighalo fine - but don't say Nacho should replace him. It isn't going to work.

Just stick to the top form-Nacho talk. I never mentioned Ighalo in the original post. You are trying so hard to make me talk about Ighalo because I won't say more than I have said in my last reply to you.

You didn't specify what you meant by "not being in top form". At this moment in time, Nacho is in very fine form and is expected to start this weekend for Leicester thanks to legendary Vardy's suspension. And when you mention Ighalo being in fine form, you obviously mean his China form but now you wanna shift to the SE form where neither forwards have goals in their last four games or more (including WC games)? Na wa... But we both know that even in the SE, Nacho trumps Ighalo in goals.

Leading the line without an end-product is the reason Ighalo is not taken seriously by most Nigerians as a striker. He is a natural 9 but has a poor goals record for us unlike "make-shift" Nacho.
After I explained to you that I meant SE performances yet you kept pushing it. I've told you what I meant. Let's end this talk

This is the definition of 'light years', mate: Mbappe will make it into ANY team in the WORLD, Iheanacho on the other hand, will struggle breaking into almost half of the teams in the English Premiership. This is not debatable, fam.
The problem with Iheanacho is he doesn't really fit into the modern game. He's a old fashioned SS and many top teams don't play that way.
Great finisher but can't the line, good final ball but not creative enough to play as a 10.
I was thinking about the it the other day and it dawned on me who he reminded me of - Lukas Podolski.
Wenger said Podolski was the best finisher he ever coached yet Podolski didn't make it at Arsenal and to a certain extent Bayern. Why? He was quick but could hardly dribble/beat a man, clinical but couldn't lead the line and his movement wasn't varied enough.
This is what and where Nacho is at the moment. The good thing is he's young and can improve.
It's crazy to put him in the same sentence as Mbappe.

Using SE performanes should tell you that even a "make-shift" #9 like Nacho has better goals ratio in that role than Natural #9 Ighalo. Ighalo is the natural but his SE record is abysmal. Nacho is the makeshift but he is still far more clinical than Ighalo.

And for the umpteenth time, I never said Ighalo is not in form. Come on mehn! I only addressed your comment on Nacho not being in top form... What does Four goals in three preseason games tell you before the Man Utd game? Poor form huh?
When it comes to leading the line - Ighalo is a better option than Nacho. Nacho is a better finisher - yes but can't lead the line. It's the reason why Rohr brought back Ighalo in the first place.
I was taking about SE performances. Nacho isn't in top form. That's my point.
If we are going to switch back to a 4-3-3 /4-2-3-1, it is crazy to question Ighalo's invitation unless we have Yekini, Yakubu, and peak Martins available.

You people should leave Kelechi out of your discussions for once. It is not always Ighalo vs. Iheanacho or Kayode vs. Iheanacho

So, let us say you want to drop a forward. You will drop Kelechi before you drop Ighalo, abi?

What can Ighalo offer you? Put their stats side by side. How many goals? How many assists?

Ighalo has 22 games, with 4 goals and 1 assist

Kelechi has 20 games with 8 goals and 4 assists

Kelechi dey like bumper package of Ighalo. If Ighalo is Camon X, Kelechi is Camon X Pro. If Ighalo is Android 7.0, Kelechi is Android 8.0

So, please, allow us to complain about the weakest forward in the team. Forward that does not give us hope of goal, forward that once he enters, we know say we no fit win match again. Forward that cannot inspire confidence, what are we using him for?
No you are complaining about your ONLY true out and out number 9. If you ask now who should replace replace Ighalo as a 9. - not one reasonable option will be suggested.

Where did you get this idea that Ighalo is being criticized solely for his World Cup performance? The way some of you talk, it is as if Ighalo just started playing games for Nigeria at the World Cup.

Is it today people started criticizing Ighalo? If after all this time, you still can't understand the utter uselessness of a player with four goals in twenty two appearances for Nigeria, then you should refrain from any arguments as regards him

What has Ighalo done in the GWG? Why is he better than any forward past, present or future that we have had? He has had one of the worst records for Nigeria, but no, let us wipe the slate clean because he is a 'complete' forward and a nation of at least 250 million citizens home and abroad can obviously not present a better number 9 undecided
