How Rejected ‘Black Money Payment’ Led To Oliseh, Fortuna Sittard Battle Peter Oriaku 1 week ago By Johnny Edward: It has emerged from the ongoing case involving Dutch second division club Fortuna Sittard and their suspended coach Sunday Oliseh at the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) tribunal that the Nigerian was offered ‘black money payment’ at the club, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Got something to say? The let your voice be heard! Back Pass *Sport related topics only* ‘Black money payment’ is an illegal payment for a job done in which tax is not paid to the government and it is punishable in the Netherlands. According to a report on Dutch daily, nos.nl, Fortuna Sittard offered Oliseh, his assistants and players ‘black money payment’ after the game against FC Emmen in January despite the club having the bank accounts of the players and coaches. The payment was rejected by the former Super Eagles coach. Fortuna Sittard had on Wednesday expressed satisfaction that they have so far been able to clear the allegation of engaging in illegal activities levelled against the club by Oliseh in a tribunal. The report on nos.nl also revealed that Oliseh’s claim that criminal activities occurred at the Limburg-based club is currently being investigated by the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD). The report added that Fortuna Sittard’s Football Director, Mustafa Aztopal, has been working in the Netherlands without a work permit. “For the KNVB, it is not the resignation of the coach but the alleged criminal activities at Fortuna which is the starting point for research,” an investigating officer of the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD) was quoted on the website. “For the time being, we have only spoken with Oliseh and, for the sake of the arbitration case and the integrity of the investigation unit, we have put the further investigation into the arbitration case for the time being.” Completesportsnigeria.com also gathered that the owner of the club, Isitan Gun, wanted Oliseh out of the club desperately, as he was well aware that Fortuna would have to pay a huge bonus if they gained promotion to the Eredivisie. “They wanted to to get players to sign documents against him to ensure he is off their books because they were obsessed about his achievements at the club,” a close source to Oliseh told CSN. “They knew so well that Oliseh was going to get them promoted and that he won’t accept any form of black money payment and this means that paying him and his coaching crew their promotional bonuses through the right channel means the club will pay more.” Oliseh was suspended by the club in mid-February and he then accused them of illegal practices and violating the law. He is demanding to be paid the remainder of his contract at the club until 2019, a promotional bonus and compensation for damages. The former Nigerian international joined Fortuna in December 2016 while they were struggling to avoid relegation but he won them a promotion play-off spot this season before his suspension. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/how-rejected-black-money-payment-led-to-oliseh-fortuna-sittard-battle/amp/ |

Joebie: lol.. I think they want to use that riddle of a news to boost readership. it seems they are pointing towards Moses Simon but at the same time not trying to mention him. The guy has now changed it to a "central midfielder" who played for the U17 and U20 team. |

Mickael2: Let me give you another instance here. Ronaldo whilst playing as a 7 usually operates as a 9, some coaches ended up playing him as a 9 but he never performs as a 9, but when he is playing as a 7 he can operate very well through the middle.
There are other examples like this too but I believe you should get my point, he may be best suited as a winger drifting in unmarked, but when you are the AMF, the DMF is always on you and disrupts your flow, that is my point. Besides why try Iwobi there when we have good players we can invite there? Al Hassan has been clocking up minutes in Austria as an AMF, Aluko plays as a psuedo-AMF and probably if we look closer we will see other people. High time we play our players in their positions Iwobi is simply an inverted winger. Ozil was similar at Bremen before Mou changed his style of play. Iwobi at wide can work without Mikel provided he has someone he can swap places with during the game. This is where someone like Aluko(yes him!) Or even Etebo comes into play. |

safarigirl: thank you o.....if Desserts as young as he is, cannot get an invite, it is now old man Aluko that Rohr will invite
We are in greater need of a striker than a midfielder or winger. If Rohr needs a winger, he can always revert to Onyekuru that he knows is capable. He doesn't need to dust up Aluko's CV I disagree. We need creativity. Someone that can slide a through ball. Nacho is a superb finisher. Ighalo contrary to what is being said isn't that bad at holding up play. His link up play is ok. If we can get both - fine. But a midfielder is very crucial. |

Seriously, if you are against Martins being invited, it should be for a valid reason other than "he's old and expired". Last season, this same Martins had a similar goal ratio to our current first choice striker IN THE SAME LEAGUE. Why is it that whenever Komekn mentions Martins, it's like WW3 to some people?? |

Mujtahida: Almost all the teams that I've watched- Germany, Spain, South Korea, Portugal, Egypt whip in crosses. Only Nigeria doesn't do that. We are really crippled in the wings. Dribbling and passing towards goal is a waste of energy when instead of running you can send the ball on an errand through well delivered crosses. Question is who will we be crossing to?? Ighalo isn't a great header of the ball. |

safarigirl: Was Aina not brought on as a sub for Idowu later in the game?
Not that I want to say I dey reason pass some people o, but mbok, shey Rohr cannot decide that he wants Aina playing LB for us and not RB? So, because Aina is great at RB for his club, the national team coach should just put him there?
Rohr does not want Aina playing RB, he is grooming him for the LB position and Aina must get accustomed to it, he can't be confusing him with LB on Monday and RB on Tuesday.
Ebuehi was not 100% fit in that game and that was why even as he started strong, he finished weak
So, please, let people stop being myopic with their reasoning and figure out that in football 1+1 is not necessarily 2. Aina has already said he prefers playing at LB. Don't know why we're still talking about this. |

somehow: Is this why he was invited?
btw, why do we say Ebuehi wasnt fit? will a coach use an unfit player for the whole match when he's got a replacement on the bench? I don't know about Ebuehi. Are you guys saying players aren't entitled to have bad games?? Ebuehi has been great but after one bad game he isn't good enough. Let's rule out both him and Shehu then and go for Aina |

Goke7: We went beyond the group stage, the last was in 98 with the olisehs and okochas. Martins and co could not get us beyond group stage Yakubu was first choice at 2010, not Martins. Martins came on as a sub against Korea. |

somehow: Reason why i am wondering the rationale to his invitation. our problem is not DM, it has always been AM, so why did he invite him? Because as a CM, he is better on the ball than Onazi. That is the truth. He had a bad game. Just like Nacho, Shehu, etc did. If Rohr doesn't invite him again, that's cool. But using these 2 games to say Onazi is better is just funny. |

Humility017: why don't you go invite aluko yourself for rohr....? what has aluko played this season?
dude will come in now and play trash... then we all will resort to start calling for another average player somewhere...to come boss the midfield.... No worry. When we go world cup and GOD FORBID Mikel gets injured or suspended, what we saw in the last 2 games will come back and haunt us again. We saw it against SA. Now we've seen it against Poland and Serbia. |

Joel Obi having a poor game doesn't mean he's a bad player. Anyone who has watched him at Torino will agree. Still think he's better on the ball than Onazi. Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if Rohr drops him for the WC and uses him more after the world cup. |

Oasis007:

...... talking about other Teams' losses ain't gonna make us better than them pls. We should focus on analyzing the Team, figure out the Weaknesses and the Ways out.
I believe we gonna have more Realists on this Forum than the Optimists. This set of Eagles is for the Future. If you put too much hope on them to win the World Cup this Year, you are OYO! Abi ooo. For the people forming Arséne Wenger of 15/16 season talking about "Cohesion" and "team spirit" as an excuse not to try out players are seeing it. We need an AM. Aluko should be invited for the next friendly. I don't mind trying out Samuel Kalu and Dessers for flair and attacking options. |
