They do not have one player with similar traits to Musa who is younger, at least that one is a fact. He did not beg or even push to go to Leicester city, I remember his former CSKA coach saying Musa asked him when to resume preseason. The player has not been given a fair shot at proving himself. Some no name coach comes in and I am just to agree that he is not good enough for the EPL? The media even dropped a story about his teammates not wanting him to be in the team and not even his club website sort out to rubbish that story. No other journalist as felt it necessary to ask the players if the story is true or not.
One thing I won't accept is that because Ndidi is a regular all must be fine. TBH that is a selfish conclusion, it is like saying "as long as it is ok with me I see no evil". As for Kelechi please name the club outside of England that would pay that £25m? No use in tricking urself, Pep sold Nacho to the highest bidder.
They sold Nacho for 25m because he was moving to a English club. I'm sure he'd have gone for a bit less if he moved abroad. Let's not forget Nacho himself didn't want to leave England because he wants to attain british citizenship.

You are partially right about Musa. The players turned on Ranieri because he changed formation to try and accommodate Musa. He was also being played ahead of Demerai Gray. Musa didn't exactly take the chances he was presented with sha...

That Martin's is older and Nacho is presently/currently in the SE team doesn't make Iheanacho better. I sick for that guy. Let's not get it twisted, tho I am of the opinion that we have moved on from the era of Martin's, I would never subscribe to that school that says Nacho is more technical than Martin's. Martin's is a very technical player. Martin's has always done well in every club he's been to. Let's not start taking his dues just cos em no de SE currently. I personally feel his speedy style suits this current SE. But I think we have other younger options and I only day that just cos of post WC era. If not that Martin's deserves a shot at SE and when i say deserves, he merits it due to his current performances.
Exactly! I don't know why many are against calling him up. Ighalo, Nacho and Martins as our strikers would be great. It's a mixture of experience and youth.

then he could take 32 players to the world cup.....?

if we are going to adopt also the formation we played against the Argentines. ...it means we will need few top 9....

you could see the likes of iwobi, nacho were already registered as CF....

so Martins may likely wait for Qatar 2022
Dennis and Yinka?? Please don't make laugh. I repeat, If Ighalo is making this team, there is no excuse for Martins not to. He'd be a good option to come off from the bench. Imagine using one game to determine he's not fit enough for SE.

We don't have a first choice striker as far as I'm concerned. We played him twice as a first choice, played Kelechi three times in same role in this third round.

You know who else deserves a look in? Dessers grin
As at this moment, Ighalo is first choice. He plays the lone striker role better than Nacho. Only way Nacho starts over him is in a 3-5-2.
I like Dessers as well. I want Rohr to give him and Martins a chance.

agaonst Zambia, i suppose it was your Obagoal that scored the second goal, abi?

How many goals does Martins have for us in how many games? So, we should drop a prolific Kelechi who has scored against both mediocre and top opposition, in both competitive and friendly games, both from inside the box, outside the box, spot kicks and in open play and invite Martins and his gra gra football, abi?

Kelechi that breathed life into the team with a superb free kick when it looked like Argentina would roast us? And need I mention his assists as well? Minus his 8 goals in 14 games, when you include Kelechi's ASSISTS, you will find he has been involved in our goals almost as much as Mikel has, even with less playing time. How many assists does Martins have? Or you think it is ghosts that will create chances?

There is a reason why you people are called armchair analysts.
Martins plays "gra gra" football and Nacho is a superb technical player abi??

Nigeria's Gernot Rohr issues update on Vincent Enyeama return

Colin Udoh, KweséESPN
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has acknowledged that he is hopeful that Vincent Enyeama will return to the Super Eagles setup, but has hinted that the keeper's club situation will need to improve before he could retake the No. 1 spot.

Having qualified comfortably from Group B ahead of Algeria, Zambia and Cameroon during CAF's qualifying campaign, Nigeria will learn the identities of their first-round foe in Russia in Friday's draw at the Kremlin.

While Super Eagles confidence has been boosted by a recent 4-2 come-from-behind victory over Argentina, there are still areas of weakness in Rohr's squad - notably in goal, where a selection of keepers have struggled to convince in recent months.

Long-term No. 1 Enyeama retired from international duty in October 2015 after being replaced as captain by then coach Sunday Oliseh, but with his successor Carl Ikeme ruled out following a leukaemia diagnosis, talk of The Cat's return has been rife.

"You cannot ask this question about Vincent because he is not fit," Rohr told KweséESPN, acknowledging the 35-year-old's troubled circumstances at LOSC Lille, where he has been deemed surplus to requirements by coach Marcelo Bielsa.

"He is not playing," Rohr added. "For the moment, this question, we cannot answer it because he is not playing yet.

"But I hope he will come back and if he is doing well at Lille or another club, I think he will change," the coach continued. "I hope he will be back also to continue his career."

David Rogers/Getty Images
Since Ikeme's diagnosis, the German coach used Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa during the qualifiers, and handed a debut to youngster Francis Uzoho in the second half of the victory over Argentina.

He also has Dele Alampasu and Dele Ajiboye to pick from, with Dele Aiyenugba another option, while Rohr has also revealed that he's considering the claims of Fortuna Dusseldorf's 18-year-old German-born stopper Maduka Okoye.

"We work very much on this position," Rohr added. "We took a second goalkeeper coach to work with the local coach for the goalkeepers.

"Now we have also have Francis who did well against Argentina, but still we have to work," he added. "We have still Alampasu, and I saw another one with Fortuna Dusseldorf, Okoye.

"We will look at him also."

While Ezenwa was the first choice to replace Ikeme, the stopper has had a few nervy moments - notably conceding a penalty away in Cameroon as Nigeria dropped two points - while Akpeyi was fortune to escape with a yellow card after picking the ball up outside his area during a testing first half against Argentina.

"Ezenwa did well, and now he has also the CHAN tournament coming up, so he will work more," Rohr concluded. "One goalkeeper trainer is right-footed, the other is left-footed, so it is a big quality for our goalkeepers to train with them.

"Afterwards, we will see who's the best."

Where did Mahrez play yesterday?
He played on wing in a 4-4-2. Okazaki and Vardy played as strikers

Is Vardy better than Kelechi? Well some reasonable people may disagree but I don't think so. Yes, Jamie Vardy has had only one good breakout season but who says that Kelechi wouldn't do better if he's afforded the same opportunity?

The point is, we don't know what we don't know.

O pari
If you were being objective as you claim, you wouldn't be asking this question. Vardy in "poor" form this season has scored 7 in 14. Last year he scored 13.
There's no argument about it, Vardy is a better striker than Nacho.

We don't need TOO MANY, after all, e no go pass seven forwards wey we dey carry go Brazil, we need ENOUGH and we have that, anybody filling that one space is EXTRA.
Ok let's say Ighalo and Nacho are our confirmed first and second choice strikers at the moment...who else is better than Martins?? Who has had better numbers (before you disregard his numbers because he plays in China, remember that's where Ighalo plays and their stats is almost similar)

As for this Martins argument, he no doubt deserves to get a look in. He has been playing in the same league as Ighalo and has been just as consistent or maybe even better. He is still quick, technically gifted and probably a better finisher than Ighalo.
Forget his age - we don't have too many options upfront. Him making our world cup squad is not as preposterous as some are making it out to be.

So why did they buy Nacho when they knew that they weren't willing to let Mahrez leave? Did they tell him before he signed the contract that he was being brought in to be a back up to either Vardy or Mahrez?

O pari
Mahrez mainly plays as a RW. Nacho was bought to play mainly as a SS and fill in for Vardy occasionally. Puel has come in with a different style and is playing Mahrez behind Vardy. With the results so far, I don't think he'll move Mahrez back to the wings useless Gray gets injured.

Ok I’ve been on transit. Just finished catching up with all the posts.

On KC, he will need to weather the storm. I was among those who clamored for his departure from Man City, but I had rather preferred he moved to Germany. Well the situation is what it is. It appears he is facing the same music in Leicester. Well not actually the same. This music is a bad bad record. He would have looked better being benched by the likes of Jesus and Aguero in a team with a blistering form so far, than that lowly Leicester. Let truth be told, Leicester is making him look very bad considering his potentials that we’ve always seen in him. The solution for him is to fight his way back to reckoning. He needs to challenge the likes of Vardy to show he is really that player we see him as. As far as SE is concerned, I’m comfortable with him.

On Kayode. He still has a lot to prove that his exploits in the Austrian Bundealiga was not a fluke. For SE, he has a mountain to climb.
As long as Leicester are playing a 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-2 with Mahrez behind Vardy, Nacho is going to have a very difficult time breaking into the first 11. When it was Okazaki playing as a second striker, I wasn't too worried as i felt Nacho could bench him as the season progressed but now Puel has decided to play Mahrez as a 10, tell me how/who is he going to bench?? People are easily writing Vardy off like he's Heskey or something...look at his numbers and tell me any sane would just drop him like that for Nacho?

BS upon BS! You guys should stop all these nonsense with writing off Nigerian players even before they are given a chance to perform!

On what basis are you claiming that Vardy is a better striker than Nacho? Listen until a player is given chances to perform and he fails to deliver, please don't sit there and claim that this person or that person is better than him. How many games has Nacho started at Leicester since he was signed? And if they knew that all these players were better than him why did they spend almost $30m on him? So he can sit on the bench? Do you even know the damage sitting on the bench does to a player's confidence?

Look at what happened to Mo Sallah at Chelsea. If he's a Nigerian, folks like you would write him off. But the point is, he wasn't given a chance at Chelsea. When he stepped out and performed at Roma, Liverpool came calling and today he's the top EPL scorer. Imagine if he had stayed at Chelsea ... he would still be riding bench.

O pari
Vardy is a better out and out striker than Nacho...FACTS. Nacho was bought to play ALONGSIDE Vardy in a 4-4-2.
Saying Nacho is better than Vardy is one of the funniest things ever.
The Salah you see at Liverpool at the moment is 20 times better than the Salah at Chelsea, Fiorentina and heck Roma. No comparison or whatever.
People like you are always blinded by patriotism. When we said G Jesus was going to push Nacho further down the pecking order at city, you guys refused to listen. It was "Nacho alien kid", etc.
Mahrez > Nacho as AM
Vardy > Nacho as CM
Gray > Nacho on the wings.

That is just the truth of the matter.

Name 10 epl strikers better than Vardy??

Can someone give me one valid reason why Claude Puel put Iheanacho on the bench? Apart from pace, wetin Vardy take pass Iheanacho? Vardy is a better striker than Nacho. Mahrez now plays behind Vardy and we all know Nacho is no where close to being on his level as a AM.
With the form Gray is showing, Nacho will not get a run of games for a while unless he SERIOUSLY steps up.

Sometimes, in life you need someone who loved you enough to tell you the truth.
At Eupen, Henry was probably allowed to run amock and do what pleases him, provided he scored or created something for the drowning team.

At a higher level, that is not acceptable. You are expected to defend, maintain the team shape, create chances and score. The coach obviously see some serious talent in Henry and he's trying to make him grow up.
Hazard became world class when he adapted his game. I suspect the coach wants him to model his game around Hazards.

Theo Walcott's game deteorated when he believed he was better off as a striker. Today, he's neither a striker nor a winger. Henry must be careful.

I drop my pen in the fountain of love.
Agreed but I feel the coach might have been better off telling all this behind the scenes and not being too blunt. I hope Onyekuru sees this as constructive criticism and not feel that he's being picked on
