Anderlecht Coach Still Unhappy With Henry : His Dribbles Are Negative
Anderlecht manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck is unhappy with the contribution of Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru in the last two games in the Belgian First Division A, saying his dribbles were negative over the course of ninety minutes.
The Everton loanee is Anderlecht's top scorer in the league with seven goals from fifteen appearances.
''Henry has to stop thinking that he’s only about his goals... The sum of his dribbles must be positive after 90 minutes. Not negative, as now,'' Vanhaezebrouck stated, according to nieuwsblad.be.
''Especially if he has so much space and as little opposition as against Kortrijk, he should avoid simple ball losses.
''Yes, last week against Mouscron he scored the winning goal, but I expect more from him.''
Onyekuru has notched eight goals in all competitions for the Belgian champions, but only three were scored in front of the club's fans at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock in Brussels.
Anderlecht will host Uche Agbo's Standard Liege in the Cup on Wednesday.

goldfish80: I'm starting to like the this Anderletch manager. If only Jay Jay Okocha had this kind of coach in his formative years, he'd have been on the Zinedine Zidane level. He's using the "tough love" approach on Onyekuru. It could work or it could damage his confidence. |

forgiveness: Onyekuru can't be my No 9 - Anderlecht coach blasts -
NAIJA PLAYERS ABROAD By: Linus Onyeze | 25/11/2017
Anderlecht coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck has told Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru he cannot play as the top striker for the team. Onyekuru has been suggested as an alternative to Lukasz Teodorcyzk in the No 9 role, as the Poland striker has failed to fire this season after he finished as joint top scorer with the Nigerian in the Belgian top flight last season. But the Anderlecht coach, who has offered the Nigeria star the chance to lead the attack on a number of occasions, but says it has not worked out as Onyekuru does not have the right movement.
“No, he cannot play that (top striker) in the system with one top striker,” said Vanhaezebrouck. “I have tried that a couple of times, but he has not been up to it. “He does not have the right movement for that position. He thinks he can do it, but he does not know where to position himself. “But if he plays from the flank, he could still get to the top of the attack a few times.”

He probably isn't impressed with his work rate or its something personal. Just last week he said Onyekuru was more focused on playing in the world cup than the team. |

Kog45: My man am not disputing his TECHNICAL ABILITY superiority but he w need to work hard to displace Ndidi and Onazi.
I hope you know how valuable is Ndidi and Onazi to Rohr.
TECHNICAL ABILITY doesn't do it alone If you've watched J Obi well you'll know he has work rate too. Back when he was at Inter, he was compared to Edgar Davids. Continuity is the only argument I can see that'll be made for him not making the team. |

Kog45: Am not disputing his talent or saying he cannot break into super eagles but walking straight into eagles first eleven is my dispute.
He w need to work and displace Onazi or any other midfielders.
Why i say hype is too much, was telling us only INFORM Mikel can stop him.
I watched him yesterday, good before he was subbed off, based on yesterday match his first eleven is not guaranteed.
My man the present eagles of Rohr not that easy as we are seeing it and it w take a very hard working players inclusive Joel Obi to break into the squad not to say first eleven even it reached a point Iheanacho place was not guarantee in the XI. I meant only Mikel is better than an inform Joel Obi and that's the truth. He has the work rate to go with his technical ability. He is superior to Onazi and Ndidi in terms of TECHNICAL ABILITY. That's the edge he has over both Onazi and Ndidi. |

Mickael2: If I say Messi will walk into our first XI it is not a disrespectful statement to anyone, it is just what it is. If Joel Obi is invited Ndidi, Etebo, Onazi, Ogu and anyother backwater midfielder we invite will have to either contest for the DMF role(i favour Ndidi here) or sit on the bench for Joel, it's so simple.
Meanwhile Joel Obi has always performed in the GWG, it isn't hype at all, just the fact. Thank you. Joel Obi is hands down better at the CM position than either one of Ndidi or Onazi. |

Kog45: Pls give little respect to Onazi, Ogu and Etebo, truly Joel Obi is a good footballer who injuries has not help his career.
I remember Keshi gave him a call prior to WC if am correct but failed to impress.Good he is picking up but i can assured you Joel Obi w not walk straight into Eagles starting eleven.
I don't understand what you mean by in form Mikel only better Joel Obi.Let me tell you basic fact it w take a very hard working Joel Obi to bench average Mikel talk less of in form Mikel.
Pls go and watch Mikel recent games for Eagles and you w know the shoe is big for Joel Obi,no offence.
Eagles have evolved in a special way for just any player to have the confidence that he w walk in straight.Joel Obi have Onazi, Ogu first to contend with and it w not be easy.
Truly Joel Obi is good but the hype is too much, let see him again then w decide but telling us Onazi,Ogu,Etebo and others are not match is like downgrading the eagles.
We just need to give ve respect to present eagles especially the players for making us proud of the team again cos your analysis on Joel Obi look like the team is average for players like Onazi, Ogu,Etebo to make the team. I respect them, but Joel Obi is simply more talented. I'm not downgrading anyone but truth is a fit and in form Joel Obi CAN break into our first 11. |

Napoleon55: i decided to watch his game today, unfortunately i could not watch the first half, but the second half that i watched, for about 15',his leg didn't touch ball,up till he was subbed off,he did not make any meaningful contribution, for about 5 or 6 times he tried to make contact with the ball,he fell down 3 or 4 times, then he was removed. i didn't know about the first half, just the second half, but from the 30' i watched, that kind player is not going to do anything better than what we have. the fact is that after Mikel,we don't have another attacking midfielder that can control the game,Joel Obi can not do the job.
i don't know the standard u want SE to attain, for me,i'm looking at the standard we can be able to compete with the best,we are talking about winning the world cup in 2022,is it all these type of players you have been mentioning every now and then that we are going use to win the world cup,or even AFCON? it's not just any player u c playing in europe should be invited if we are serious of winning any trophy,we have gone beyond just participating in tournaments,we should b able to aim of winning not just participating, that's why it's not every player should b invited just because he is a good footballer. u want to win a WC,u will invite a player like Joel Obi that will perform for one game, then get injured in the next game, and the rest of the tournament,n start looking 4 rplacement.
i don't know the kind of result you want to achieve with all these your players. try to check the type of players that have won something for us in the past and c how good they were. players in the mold of Kanu,Okocha,Finidi Olisey,Mikel, etc that's the type of players u should b clamouring for,if u can't c these type players i have mentioned, don't disturb us with all these type of players u and Komekn kept throwing at us as if they are going to win us WC if they are invited. Joel Obi walks into our first 11 if fit. Only Mikel is better when in form. If Etebo, Ogu, Onazi, etc are making our team, then there's no way in the world a fit Joel Obi doesn't make it. |

Icon79: I don't know what league you've been watching but Iwobi actually played a decent amount of games last season. Yes, he struggled to get games towards the ending of last season but by mid-season he was getting a decent amount of play time. As a matter of fact, it got to a stage where the British pundits were blaming him to OX being on the bench.
If you have the time to search this particular thread, you'll find where we discussed that subject. I was one of the people who argued that the pundits were trying to unnecessarily blame Iwobi because he doesn't play the same position with the OX.
O pari Yeah I remember this. Ian Wright complained of Iwobi benching him. |

Now, you're up with another pranks despite the obvious fact stirring you at ya face.
If you don't know, then me use this avenue to inform you that Hull city played Sone Aluko behind the strike mostly in their formation. Meaning, he played as d SS or CF in most cases.Thank me later. Are you mistaken me for someone else?? I said the excuse that Jelavic and Long were the main reason Hull "moved on" from Aluko can't be true because they are both strikers while Aluko mostly plays as a AM or on the wings. Aluko RARELY plays as a CF - FACT! Aluko would not get into SE 11 as a CF - FACT! That's the point I'm making. |

Sunday's Scottish gossip 1 Apr 2012 From Football Share this page Scottish newspaper gossip FOOTBALL GOSSIP
Rayo Vallecano have joined the Spanish clubs chasing Sone Aluko and aim to tempt the Rangers forward with a £14,500-per-week contract. (the Sun) ...................................................................................
Sone Aluko only signed for Rangers in November of 2011, but fortunately for the former Aberdeen man, he had enough time to impress before things took a turn for the worse at Ibrox. La Liga side Rayo Vallecano were actively pursuing him later that season, but with their own financial situation taking a nosedive it would be difficult for them to renew their move. A switch to the Championship is perhaps more likely, with Charlton and Crystal Palace both thought to be interested in the pacey winger, though the three clubs promoted to the Premier League - Southampton, Reading and West Ham - could also be tempted.
...................................................................................
Do you really want to know why he did not play much in the EPL? Let us cure our ignorance.
Just after that though his first problems with his Achilles started and that basically ended his first season.
“He had recovered by the start of the following Premier League season and he scored a superb goal at Newcastle but those Achilles problems dogged him for that whole of that season.
“By the time he got back properly fit it was almost as if the club had moved on, they’d spent big money on Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic and he was out of the picture a bit
Pls, let us stop embarrassing ourselves na.. Long and Jelavic are strikers. Aluko mostly plays as a winger/AM. He rarely plays as a 9 and let's be honest, he isn't making our first 11 as one considering he can't bench Shane Long and Jelavic. |

TheGoodJoe: The point is too simple. No one is against Enquiring (not begging). It is EASIER to identify players when they declare. I Wonder why this is incomprehensible. What is pride in that? You've just reminded me of what Keshi said when he was asked of Abiola Dauda...he said he hadn't contacted him and can go play for Serbia if he wants. That's not always the right approach. You first have to ask to find out where their allegiance lies. |

Mujtahida: My brothers, I just watched the match again for the third time. See, I know we've hammered this issue before but forget it:this FB have added their own uniqueness to our game which is sharpness. The Nigerian guys bring the flair and African rhythm.
Iwobi's passing is deadly, very deadly. Abeg, all those who say Iheanacho has no speed have been unfair to him. Dude has good pace. Not blistering as goodjoe would say but very good pace.
Ogu played as the LMF and brought a lot of balance in the midfield with his tackling, aerial clearances and passes. We really need Joel Obi who is left footed. Our strength lies too much on the right hand side and it's not good enough. We must develop the left side of our game.
Apart from his goals Idowu didn't add much to the attack but he shut down Pavon unlike Ebuehi who was moving back and forth with Di Maria inside his pocket. I doubt if he can keep up the energy that such hardwork requires for 90 minutes.
Finally here's a piece from the commentator after Iwobi scored the fourth goal. Iwobiiiiiiiii, through the legs of Mascherano - what an outstanding goal that is. He's got a second and Nigeria got a fourth. What a touch of genius from the Arsenal many. Astonishing scoreline, from two goals down now it's four two. Ahmed Musa with the pass and look at this from Iwobi, nutmegging Mascherano and firing high up into the net. Outstanding individual goal Nacho has pace but struggles to beat a man. That's what's frustrating and probably why Pep sold him. If he had a bit of dribbling, no way would he leave city. His finishing is just too clinical |
