Awo would have been our best president ever if he had gotten the opportunity. Only a fool would discredit what he did for the west. I'd take a dead Awo over the dross we've had as governors in the east since 99. |

Humility017: I don't get you I have watched over 70% of Chelsea's match this season in fact part of the reason why fabregas often does not get start is because of matic defensive qualities matic has not played anything this season forget the goal he scored the last time...against Sutton ndidi will score 5 of that being that Chelsea create a lot of chances...
I tell you ndidi can offer more upfront and as well cover up side by side with kante... Ndidi will compete against Kante, not Matic. Matic is a better passer than Ndidi. |

BascoVanVeli is right in the fact that every youth player must complete high school. Academies like Clairefontaine actually accept players based on their grades. The coach carter concept totally makes sense and should be implemented in all our academies. |

terzurum5: New South Africa Coach Baxter Reveals How His Team Defeated Nigeria In 2004
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/C15A54C3-B77F-4B56-A1E8-027473E3B7A0-6819-0000025386A1CE2B.jpeg
The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) will in the coming days unveil Stuart Baxter as their new coach ahead of their AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against Nigeria in Uyo.
Baxter holds the record of the only coach who have guided South Africa to victory over Nigeria, and he will be eyeing same when his team travel to Uyo on the 10th of June.
The coach will be in charge of South Africa for the game against Nigeria while still in charge of Premier Soccer League side Supersports United, but reports has it that he will quit the club full time at the end of the season.
In 2015, the coach told Africanfootball.com, how he masterminded South Africa to their first and only win over Nigeria in 2004, when his team defeated Nigeria 2-1 in a friendly game.
On 17 November 2004, Baxter’s Bafana Bafana beat the Super Eagles 2-1 with goals by Shaun Bartlett and Benedict Vilakazi in a friendly international.
“We (South Africa) shouldn’t feel inferior to Nigeria. It’s no help looking at their players and seeing which clubs they play for. That is only on paper.
“Before our game in 2004, they were all talking about beating South Africa 4-0 ahead of our game, but we forgot about that and just played our game.
“What South Africa needs to be doing, is not to get worried about past statistics and history. The current players can create their own future and mentally they should just get ready to focus on the job.
“In 2004 it was the same. We wanted to perfect the way we played at that time and when we won the ball, we wanted to get at them quickly and attack.”
Ade Emmanuel

Zimbabwe certainly have a higher literacy rate and better road network than Nigeria. I don't understand why peeps are being all indignant - you don't know nigeria is a shithole?? Let's be honest - anyone born from the 80s in this dump doesn't know what good governance is(Bleep it, Nigerians probably never experienced it before). The air in nigeria is filled with mediocrity. It's only when you travel out will your eyes really open to the shit you've been suffering all along. |

He'll be sorely missed. Maybe we'll play 4-3-3 with Onazi (if he recovers), Ndidi and Etebo with a front 3 of Victor Moses, Iheanacho and Iwobi. Maybe we might also need someone like Aluko for creativity. We should be able to beat Bafana Bafana. Rohr needs to invite Onyekuru sha. |

Koolking: Was the sane country not built by the sane citizens? Why can't we remedied our insanity and join hand in building a sane nation?
A graduate would rather armed himself with information to defraud and yahoo another instead of being self-reliance and a path finder. He would rather cut corners than leveraging on legit opportunities. He would rather talk about his religion and ethnic-affiliation instead of his country? Is that how a sane country was built? I need answers Sir How can you build a sane country that doesn't give the common man an environment to thrive?? Do you know how many of our best brains are suppressed or have left the country?? Look at the leaders we keep churning out...does this look like a country that REALLY WANTS/DESIRES CHANGE? A few handful cannot change the mentality of millions. |

Koolking: Nigeria is not hell my friend. We Nigerians make the country hell by our selfish and unpatriotic attitude. All these talks, Nigeria is zoo are all expressions of our attitude. Who are the people to make Nigeria better - Alien from Mars? If not each and everyone of us.
Come to think of it, why are you not taking the same grave risk as the men going to Libya? as if Libya is better. Where some Nigerians feel are not hell, were these places not made by humans who united for a common purpose?
We only unite for tribal jingoism.
Desperate people do desperate things. Am not surprised.
Nigeria will be great again whether you believe or not Once you've lived in a sane country for just 2 -3 years, trust me you'll almost wish you were never born nigerian. Naija is messed up. It's almost beyond repair. |

Based on history I am not quick at calling what people believe in foolish. I am sure similar things were said about all freedom fighters that even walked the face of the earth, the people who belittle their struggle as always been the one looking stupid at the end. Don't be quick to judge, I am sure FG thought so when they arrested him, at least you can bear testimony how that is playing out in terms of: creating awareness for his struggle and turning international attention to the gross violation of human rights by security agencies under the present administration. I'm not judging him, just saying he shouldn't do anything to give FG the slightest reason to throw him back in prison. |

It would be extremely foolish of Buhari to run for 2019. I thought his illness was nothing serious, but let's not lie to ourselves - this guy is not fit enough to be in office for 6 more years. He needs to do the right thing and step down. Stop listening to these power hungry psychos that want you to die in office. |

TheSuperNerd: Why Monaco Are Yet To Announce Signing Of Moses Simon Despite Postive Talks With Gent
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/image-46.jpg
High flying French Ligue 1 side Monaco are presently locked in talks with Gent of Belgium over a possible deal in the summer for dashing winger Moses Simon according to Belgium publication Voetbalkrants.com.
Monaco have resigned to losing some of their top stars after a stellar season in France and Europe, with the team currently leading the Ligue 1 table and also through to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League.
The club views Simon as a player who can replaced some of their stars who are expected to leave in the summer, and suggestions are that the deal is almost near completion as both parties are eager for the move to go through.
Presently what is holding the deal is a compromise on what will be the sell on clause due to Gent, if the 23 year old leaves Monaco in a few years time, and the duration which the clause will last.
Reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com sources has it that Monaco are willing to pay £12M for his services, plus the promise of first team football which will sway him their way ahead of English Premier League side West Brom who are also interested in his services.
Simon wants to represent Nigeria at next summer World Cup in Russia, if Nigeria qaualifies and will only accept a move to a team that will assure him of their plans for him as regards playing time.
**Osas Mahawi. Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/26/why-monaco-are-yet-to-announce-signing-of-moses-simon-despite-postive-talks-with-gent/ Monaco would be a great club for him to develop. I wish Monaco would sign Onyekuru. |
