@ femi4love

i hope it doesn't take long before u understand the mess u might get yourself into poking your nose into your friend's affairs.

when the going was good, did he call you?

the whole witch story is a question of lack of basic undestanding between the couples and i also feel they might over time outlive it.then you would see how dangerous it could be sitting on other peoples' affair.

get busy with other things my brother. leave the witch and her hubby alone!

Politics / Re: MEND To Initiate World War 3 by EDIPO(m): 10:17pm On Sep 16, 2008
i feel the whole niger delta matter needs some sincere opinions. my definition of sincere here is contextual, every individual has a right to his or
her own definition of sincerity.

while i would love to also share some views as far as niger delta crisis is concerned, i would not make the mistake of reducing my
analysis to the activities of MEND.
they seem to be the most vocal (not necessarily most organised) of all the militant groups, it really does not make them reasonable
and/or most respected.

i share the pains of our brothers and sisters from that side of the country and i feel it is just fair to jointly condemn the neglect
they have suffered over time.
i have personally paid visits to some oil rich states and i must confess, if you are very vigilant, you would see poverty in person.
poverty is everywhere.
not just poverty of amenities or money but also poverty of ideas. they feel so isolated that every other nigerian may quickly irritate them
on issues affecting their existence.

it is no gainsaying that the neglect suffered by this region has successfully seperated it from the rest of the nation, so the question
of whether Nigeria should divide may need no further answer, events would speak.
however, the first step to getting matters resolved is to see people from other regions condemning the neglect and ask for sincere attention
for oil cities.
this crisis to a very large extent has also contributed to what i call ethnic chauvinism.

having said this much, i have not, atleast within myself, been able to fathom out the sense in blowing up a place we are complaining is under
developed. the multi-dimensional issues attach to this matter all would have
various opinions visiting them.

first, on kidnapping, i condemn this act is strong terms and feel such should be discouraged. it is a reflection that the struggle for niger
delta emancipation as far been commercialised if people kidnap only to release
the victim after collecting certain amounts tagged ransome, i call it BRIBE.
i however have reasons to suspect that there is a kind of working understanding with most victims been kidnapped in recent times. the comfort and ease
with which this kidnap iscarried and and the speed at which deals are
brokered to facilitate release calls for more than meets the eyes. i feel the whiteman is also beginning to make faster money outside their blood-oil money.

second, the free display and use of arms and ammunitions raises alot of questions as regards security. my concern is centered round the fact that we
seem not to be asking where these ammunitions come from, definitely not Nigeria
then what is the mode of transporting it? by the time we try to ponder over this, we are not likely to spare some big boys cum politicians in this
arms deal! so also are the white men. what happens to all the tankers siezed, i am sure the don't spill all.
how many of their own are in school as a result of scholarship funded by this militants? all we see is young jobless men cuising around the streets
in state of the art cars, spending money lavishly and building castles. then the question is, get what you can using what you have:
with the caveat, EVERY OTHER PERSON CAN GO TO HELL!!! the whold third world war threat is a reflection of how shallow the militants' unerstanding
of this crisis is, THERE IS MORE TO WAR BEYOND BLINDLY PRESSING DOWN YOUR TRIGGER KILLING YOUR OWN VERY BROTHERS!!!

finally is the government recklessness and petty approach to resolving the matter. the govt has made this crisis so lucrative that nobody
currently feeding fat on this impasse would like to get is resolved anytime soon.
imagine the creation of a NIGER/DELTA MINISTRY with the office in Abuja while the crisis is in the war torn areas. so how do we reconsile
the mindset of a govt who has deployed most of our military might to a place and at the same time enticing them with a ministry?
stick and carrot approach, i'd say. a government that has built more bridges in abuja where there are no waters than a completely riverine niger/delta.

in conclusion, i do not fancy the government approach and there is nothing to hide here, at that however, i also condemn in strong terms the
manner with which this militants groups have fashioned to redesign their destiny and that of the people of niger/delta.
i for one do not see them as fredom fighters, i'd rather see them from the angle of anarchists who have privatised the the business of anarchism for
their own commercial benefits.
i like to see some sense of purpose in the agitation for a better niger/delta, a constructive and critical review of ways forward and high display
of maturity. beyond this, let us all add our voices to calling for a BETTER NIGER/DELTA.

i would sincerely appreciate your views as well.

(please pardon my mistakes)

cheers.
Politics / What's Special About Mr. President? by EDIPO(m): 8:57pm On Sep 16, 2008
permit me to start this new discuss thread just to trigger some thoughts beyond now.

when baba adedibu (of blessed memory) fell ill, i placed a call to my uncle to ask who was likely to step in adedibu's shoes.

shocked by my question, he queried that kind of thought and later said none would fit as far has he was concerned. he premised
his arguments on some special characteristics of baba, especially his
firm hold of the ibadan polity and also his understanding of grassroot
mobilisation. that is about that for baba.

with the current news and discussion flying around about Yar' adua's health, i think it is not totally out of place to
look ahead of time: what if he dies?

to start with, i have no doubts we would miss him though he would not the first to die in office. those who did not die
naturally were murdered in coup plots. it doesn't end at missing him anyway, various questions begin to surface:

who takes over?
from the north? if yes, from his zone?
these two, i am sure could be resolved hard as it may get but one particular question that continues to bother me is, WHICH
QUALITIES OF HIS WOULD WE FIND HARD TO REPLACE?

this thought came up whrn my brother and i were discussing whether or not mr. president is performing well and he then asked what exactly is he doing?
i really do not believe mr. president is not performing because a man stockpiling our collective sweat and running anti-people policies as a matter
of fact is performing only that, he is not working for the people.

ladies and gentlemen of high intellectual prowess, what is special about Mr. President?
let's start it now!!!

cheers.
Properties / Re: Filling Stations For Immediate Purchase Please! by EDIPO(m): 5:28am On Sep 15, 2008
thanks, i am not putting them up in adverts or magazines. i have been asked to get ready sellers and we would meet with the person almost immediately. as soon as i have a seller, we can start talking right away. it should be a functional station in a location that would be quite good for sales, however, you can state which one you have and we can come up to look at it if its what we want. that is the basics of business. finally, please name your property and the price, thats where bargaining starts from.
best regards.

Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Foreign Based Lady by EDIPO(m): 12:21am On Sep 15, 2008
this foreign base matter is a deep stuff, i have carefully read thru peoples' responses and all i can say is, ITS FUN TO BE HERE!!

charlie, sorry saylawchar, to start with, no woman would hook up with a guy that is this reactive; every comment seem to get at you.

second, you need to start with that identity you put forth, that makes aldy look out for you.

and finally, no lady likes to love outta sympathy, give them reasons to want you, not because you are lost and need a foreigner to look out for you.

i wish u the best brotherman, thank God a female finally said hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii grin

@promise72

i read your first post and must sincerely confess that i was going to query the choice of word and not theidea you were trying to pass across which i think it
totally correct. a car would get you more girls than just your mouth! no wahala.

secondly, i feel everybody has a right to reaction, so every reaction is welcomed. what i have refused and would never understand is for anyone to drag yourmum
into this! i am really sorry about that and i mean sorry.
as per your reaction, you make it sound like an american film that would earn a title like "ANYTHING FOR MAMA"S SAKE", lol, lol, lol,

on a more serious textbook, sorry, note, don't let that guy put you off, i feel you said some cool stuff as per getting cars shipped. good one!

for students who want to ride cars, its okay and i also share the passion but please as soon as you get your car, drive reasonably,
i have seen couple of guys drive all the way to heaven, or let's say hell, lol, lol, lol,

cheers.
Politics / Re: "Resign Now!", Pastor Bakare Tells Yar’adua! by EDIPO(m): 11:28pm On Sep 14, 2008
by the time we would realise how far we have dragged this issue, tunde bakare would have become the most popular man in nigeria.

what i am trying to say is that, that guy should not be made an issue, according to Lord of Ajasa, you can say whatever you like with your mouth! what we all should help him do is remove the God clause and then move ahead with issues, which in my own opinion should be centered round whether or not president yar'adua should leave office because of his health?

if i may ask, can we begin to look at this issue from this point of view? with due respect to the author of this topic!

for me his ill health can not be verified from what we read on the pages of the papers and he also knows where exactly the shoes pinches.

i refuse to share the hype about his kidney complications, alot of people make it look so bad as if he is bed ridden. i have two sggestions on this matter, one, mr. president should assert his fitness and that might put some agitations to rest; if this doesn't help, we should wait for a professional doctor who is independent to give a medical opinion as to whether the ailment is enough to make our president step aside.

come to think of it, what is wrong if this man chooses to die for the nigerian people, lol, lol, lol grin

cheers.

Romance / Re: Love Letters by EDIPO(m): 8:21pm On Sep 13, 2008
i did not get to write mine when lotta people were writing propably because i did not grow up liking girls. when i was going to start writing mine, girls were already missing that part of guys so mine was a welcomed idea. then when a girl says no, she propably said that so that i could write another and i never got tired too. well the gist is, it always worked for me. the high point is, i dont end my letters with "yes or no, choose one. please reply!"

if you would never date me, never read what i write, no be jazz, na yearns!

now, i talk and its still working!
Religion / Re: Speaking In Tongues - Can It Be Taught And Learnt? by EDIPO(m): 10:05am On Sep 13, 2008
i have heard a very terrible experience about speaking in tongues when i was young. my cousins took me to church despite the fact that i am a muslim. new comers were invited for a special meeting and one of the things we were thought was how to speak in tongues.

in order to flow with the trend, i faked mine and the pastor was happy to hear me speak in tongue, he has got a new soldier you'd say.

a gift of the holy spirit can not be thought.

thats my opinion.
Religion / Re: What Is Wrong With A Guy Plaiting His Hair Or With Locks? by EDIPO(m): 10:02am On Sep 13, 2008
its sad to hear that your choice of hair puts you on the spot. i am not a christain and so i am not sure if my opinion would make sense here. islamically, it is not permitted for a guy to plait his hair, as for dread, i am not sure but i can find out for you.

however, if you are looking at getting employed in a corporate setting, would you plait your hair to the office, i can guess your answer would be NO. if you can forsake your hair for the office, why not for God?

my brother, who don fine don fine, no be by haid do!

Politics / Re: Nigeria: Can We Have An Obama Or Clinton In Country? by EDIPO(m): 1:37am On Sep 13, 2008
what particularly makes a clinton or obama specia? one was a former president who was so wreckless sleeping with domestic staff and the other an african american who wants to become the president of the united state! so what do we need their type for in nigeria.

it always embiters my heart when people talk about nigeria as if nothing good has ever happened to this country or would never happen.

its all a systemic issue which i think over a while,we would overcome. have you not asked yourself hoe old the US is and how old Nigeria democracy and Nigeria as a country is? think about it and change your view of this great country.

the more time we spend on criticism, the lesser the time we have to participate in nation building.

God bless Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Creation Of More State In Yorubaland An Issue Of Justice Delay Is Justice Denied by EDIPO(m): 1:13am On Sep 13, 2008
the arguements centered round state creation would fast lose its
credibility if such argument is pushed from the tribal point of view.

that more states should be created is in fairness a credible push and i would readily vote a yes if it becomes a public matter.

i would howevernot be seen joining the league of people who see it as a yoruba thing. as far as i see, it is all about our country, Nigeria.

let's take Oyo state for instance, it is just obvious that dividing that state in like three other states would be as good as taking so much trouble off the shoulder of
Gov. Alao Akala who has shown that he managing the whole of oyo state is a problem for him.

we should however not lose touch with the fact that creating more states means more local government councils, more allocations and so on. my query is , whathave we been able to do with what we have?

like i said, i share the passion for state creation, at least to help the lazy leaders manage their states but not from the "yorubalistic" point of view.

lets make our opinion acceptable by taking an all encompassing view and shun ethnic chauvinism!

Politics / Re: "Resign Now!", Pastor Bakare Tells Yar’adua! by EDIPO(m): 12:01am On Sep 13, 2008
the question of Mr. President's performance generally and has it relates to his health is a seperate issue and could take as many days as we choose to look at this multi perspective issue.
i would therefore limit myself to the utterances of Pastor Tunde Bakare.

give it to him, he is one man that has being able to create a niche for himself within the pastoral domain, straight-to-the-point-no-nonsense-preacher!

what bothers me is that these politically inclined pastors keep dragging God's name into their utterances and it makes me feel sick.

with due respect to the genuine men of God, i find it hard to take seriously whatever such people say. this is a man who said Mr. President was of God and now he is saying the God sent "messiah" should get out of office.
perhaps, God had a reserve messiah as He has refused to give yar'adua good health.

Mc Cain, is a cancer patient, he had at various time gone in for surgery, the north korean president is just getting back after undergoing a brain surgery and he's got minor stroke, fidel castro was hospitalised for a long time and the list is continuous.
my opinion in short is that, the statement credited to Tunde Bakare should be disregarded and more attention paid to the current administrations policies.

it is human to have bad health, what matters is the management of such and i think mr. President is quite aware of that. this is not to say Mr. President id doing well or not!

cheers.
