Addicted people may think we are living the worst life. . . They feel we are not happy. But I am very satisfied in the way I am. I don't even drink coffee not to be addicted. I work non stop with nothing. There was a time when I slept for 3 hrs for 3 days. I try to keep it natural.

I only even drink water or maybe soft drink. Never have tried cigarette or even Mira. Never drink beer. I don't even try beer or any alcholic drink.

The point I was making was that Ethiopians in SA hardly get attacked because they don't have a bad reputation down here.I have never heard South Africans complaining about them,those who get attacked are the ones who find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time,well shīt happens sometimes.Anyone who thinks South Africa is a xenophobic county is grossly misinformed because right now I can't think of any African country that has done more for African migrants than SA.If it's that bad down here then why does everyone wants to be here?it defies commonsense now,doesn't it?

I have seen on other show how Ethiopians have been complaining about South Africa. There were these two guys who use to live there but they have left S.A. for USA now. They have been explaining how they were targets for attack. The South Africans near them use to tell them that they will attack them just after Mandela died because they keep reminding them that he is the only south African who cares for Ethiopians.

I think she was in danger. We don't have many shows for drama queens. We don't have the Kardhashian types here. There are few shows I know that always sound fake. I don't easily trust people naturally, she sound so real. Very real. It was not like a Dr.Phil show where people make stories to become popular. It is just a simple show where people keep it simple and real. I wish you had known the show.

Some foreign nationals in SA deserve the treatment they get though,it's just unfortunate that Ethiopians and other immigrants get caught up in such mess.I'm gonna be honest,Ethiopians don't have a bad reputation here as far as I know.Some foreign nationals are that bad that you even find other foreign nationals in SA complaining about them.Let me step on few toes with this one,crime in South Africa would drop by 50% if 90% of Nigerians,Mozambicans and Zimbabweans were removed.Go to Hillbrow and see how the people I have just mentioned turned a once clean Hillbrow into a middle of Syria to the point that is even dangerous to the people who were born here (South Africans) .Mozambicans and Zimbabweans even cross the border to come and steal cars in South Africa,just last year,the South African police caught Zimbabwean thieves towing a Mercedes Benz to the border gate with a donkey lol.I don't wanna sound like I'm promoting xenophobia,but I think we opened a floodgate to emigration disaster the moment we stopped patrolling those borders..I'm sorry about what happened to your kin,let's hope she survived.

Ethiopians in South Africa live in nice areas like where I stay. Chances of such a thing happening while someone is at home are nada. People at risk of xenophobic attacks are those living in townships. Even in the CBD you can't easily attack someone because the police will be there in an instant. In contrary to what is believed, most South Africans are not in support of xenophobic attacks. Sure we wish everyone would Bleep off back to where they come from, but killing someone is not justifiable.
Nobody pays Ethiopians any attention because Ethiopians aren't obnoxious by nature & they mostly keep to themselves. They're not the 1st people one would think of attacking in a situation like that.

It was few years ago. I was hearing my favorite radio program. In that program, Ethiopian diasporas from different world dial and chill. But the dial from South Africa was terrifying. An Ethiopian mother from South Africa was crying in the house was crying for help. It was a Xenophobic attack and the guys were waiting her right at her door to kill her. She is a mother of two and she was asking where to hide her kids.


At that time, different African government was protecting and taking back their nation. Ethiopian government was busy making money that Ethiopians were left on street with no one. She said they told her that she have no one looking for her as if she had no country. The studio got messed up and the vibe was really bad. She asked so the government could hear her out so they could help.


I was literally crying and I didn't sleep that night. I don't even know if she is alive or not. You can understand how much it felt.

Let me say I've got some facebook friends from Ghana,the supposedly Giant of Africa which is not(Nigeria ),South Africans,some tidy number of folks from Uganda,Tanzania,Zambia,Namibia,Angola and others.I just don't see much of Ethiopians,even on twitter-they are almost non-existent! Where do you guys usually hide?
