@XhosaNostra Ethiopia × South Africa This it tigre language. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8UGrHvjcGo |
Kazikazi:Yes, tenna and selam are Amharic words. But can you say tenna correctly? Can you say tenna yistilgn with the right accent? Maybe Khoisan is difficult to spell but I am not only talking about accent, I am also considering the reading and writing with the clicking sounds. Language is a combination of writing, reading, listening and speaking soooo ![]() |
XhosaNostra:understood ![]() |
XhosaNostra:Yeah. Google actually says Kaht is not legal in South Africa. Take care again. Being around them when they take that drug is so much fun. Just stay with them but refuse to use the drug even if they ask you too |
Kazikazi:Have you heard our clicking sounds. Say Ethiopia. . . .you are not correct, that is not how we say it. P is not the P in English. . it makes different sound. Let's just start from that and Do Khoisan people have 200 alphabets. Even we have our own numbers, do they have that kazikazi ![]() |
rvp20182:Come to Addis then you will see them chew it on street, in the taxi and everywhere. Their mouth is filled with that and you see some of them going crazy. Taxi drivers do that a lot. They may even offer you to have it lol Ethiopians become very good when they use Khat. They like to share it with everyone and have fun. lol SUCH A BAD PRACTICE |
TayserMahri:Yea, I sometimes think it is the most difficult African language. From writing to talking. You know that you have to remember more than 180 letters/ alphabets to write. And many sounds are hard to say |
t1ann:Maybe, yes |
mtisTheQubit:Miraa?? Wow, what language is that?? |
XhosaNostra About Somalis, I have never had Somali friend or neighbor but they live in Addis. They live in Bole district in a place named 'Somali tera'. It means Somali place. Funny thing, I always meet them when I went to clinic or hospital. They are right there. For my check up, my mom's visit and grandmas visit. . .they were still there. For one somali patient comes 30 Somalis! They are looouuuuddd too. They act like they own the city. Once, I had to come out because they were loud in the hospital. I had to take a fresh air so I sat out side in the shelter. They were out there again and loouuuddd. I wanted to tell them to keep it down but they looked at me like 'Who the hell is this?'. So I had to go out and stay in the car lol. But I've never communicated with them. To be honest, any other African (who is not Ethiopian) is loud for Ethiopians. We have Nigerians in campus and they are also loud compared to us. But the Somali 'loud' is something else. I have not noticed any thing other than that about Somalis. There use to be annoying Somali nairalander I wanted to kick because he make really bad topics by the name of Eritreans and Ethiopians too. Axum, Somalia9 etc . . drives me crazy. We do have a very nice nairalander from Somalia too. But sadly, he deactivated his account. When you live together with people, there is a high chance for argument. Leave alone different nations, same nations may also annoy eachother. Even though the Somalis you have explained are not good. Ever had that type of experience with your Ethiopian neighbors ![]() |
XhosaNostra:You saying that you have no idea about Khat?? OH NO Khat is a bad drug which causes health problems. You have to know what you do, specially the thing you take into your mouth lol ![]() In Addis, we have this coffee houses everywhere and some of them pour the powdered Khat into the coffee not letting the user know. They make people addicted that way too. Be careful with the Ethiopian guys. . .ask them anything they are doing. As you have said. . .They use the drug so much. I can assume how they stare a lot. Their eyes open very wide right? And they become imaginative. They make very cool conversation when they take that drug right?? Am I right ![]() |
XhosaNostra:Sorry for the late reply, something happened. . . We don't beleive in witchcraft but what can we say about her? She really surprised us. She pass 40 now |
XhosaNostra:Her destination is so unexpected. She was also a strict Orthodox Tewahdo religion follower. Very disciplined and patriotic too. Some people here say devil did something to her. When people are this important and inspirational, they sometimes end up this way. I really missed her. . .I have been hearing her song ever since I was just a kid. |
XhosaNostra:We call it Khat here. It's a very addictive drug. Why do they call it Mira there WoWThat drug is affecting the life of the people in here so much. Especially in a city called harrar, they have a time to chew that. Shops will be closed and they will make a round to chew that drug. Ethiopias economy itself is influenced by that. We get millions of dollars selling this drug lol Take care with that drug. ![]() |
XhosaNostra:She is a modern International musician with talent. But it always annoys Ethiopians where she is now. The songs she released decades ago are still played on the radio. After she got married to American man and went to U.S.A. . .it was hard to see her. She only came once to ET but now no one knows how she is doing now. Many said she is mentally unstable and that she entered rehab. Her families were asked so the people of Ethiopia could meet Gigi. They said she is fine but they even refused to connect her to the people. She must have been in a critical condition. Just dissapointing to see a legend like her suffer this way |
t1ann:He said no one has to die beacuse of that war anymore. HE SAID |
XhosaNostra:What is mira?? Many people say Ethiopians started eating raw meat during war. . .The Ethiopian fighters had no time to cook while fighting the Italians not to be colonized. Then it became culture. When Ethiopians eat raw meat, they feel brave. It reminds them that story (Its just a rumour). Tibs I looovveee tibs![]() |
XhosaNostra Gigi - Utopia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swmtuX3uLZY&itct=CBgQpDAYACITCPexwM_wsOACFVRT4AodPskNtFILdXRvcGlhIGdpZ2k%3D&hl=en&gl=US&client=mv-google Gigi- Guramayle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQX8xCTJpnQ |
t1ann:They are tigres with Italy influence. Italy colonized them and that's what differentiate them from Ethio tigres |
XhosaNostra:Gigi is increadable. I can't compete her with any singer. You haven't even heard what she was saying. The message is deep. She sings for black people, freedom, unity and her voice, instruments are no where to find. She can be an icon in Ethiopia. She started singing for unity a decade a go knowing this will happen to Ethiopians today. She is a talented African artist which is not acknowledged as she was supposed to. She sings for culture, peace and love. |
XhosaNostra:You are surrounded by Ethiopians lol Is it South Africa or Ethiopia ![]() |
XhosaNostra:Betty G - Gereye. Amharic song with Ethiopian flavour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKdB7H9y6ag Ejigayehu Shibabaw- Aba Alem Lemine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VkrV-iFED4&itct=CBgQpDAYASITCKm81dXssOACFVQ14Aodw5UNaVISR2lnaSBBYmEgbGVtIGxlbW5l&client=mv-google&gl=US&hl=en |
XhosaNostra:Tigray and Eritreans speak tigre language but Eritreans have to speak Amharic to communicate with other Ethiopians. Drums?? We have many music with drums and they have no collective name. Hear Ejigayehu Shibabaw (Gigi) songs. True African flavour she has. Have you ever heard of an Ethiopian song?? |
t1ann:So true |
XhosaNostra:Probably Fikir had issues with the government. Here is the difference between Eritrean and Ethiopian government Ethiopian government won't touch you if you are a silent citizen But Eritrean government mistreat you whether you oppose or leave them. Fikir probably had issues. She could also be a Tigray with many issues. If she don't want to come even after our new PM came, she must have done something. Or maybe she must been having a big tight relation with TPLF. If so, she better not come back here. TPLF is evil group which sometimes forcefully could make you in their group. If she has done that, her life is in danger. Leave alone joining TPLF, they will just stone you being Tigray. My dad was doing a construction for his cousin in Oromia zone in Addis then he heard it is better if he not go there for some time. After a while when he reached. . . The G + 4 building constructed right next to where he is constructing has burnt into ashes. When he asked the people, they told him they did that only because it is owned by Tigray owners.- |
Jonraid:Yea, I think an Ethiopian named Hayat Mohammed won Miss world long ago. I forgot |
XhosaNostra:Their government won't let them out of the country. They can't even go back. I don't know now tho Before the peace deal, they use to torture Ethiopians who lived there. Their leader is a dictator. He is a very confusing man who easily changes his mind. No one wants to stay in there. Yea, Many Eritreans speak Amharic language |
XhosaNostra:Ethiopia and Eritrea are doing very good now. After the peace deal, many Eritreans have come here to live and some Ethiopians went there just for a visit. Not a single Ethiopian wants to live in Eritrea, their government is scary. The behaviour depends on individually. I have very sweet Erirean neighbors I love so much. They are very helpful and good people. But let me tell you one funny thing, however good they are personally, they will keep picking nationality. They don't marry Ethiopians. Even they will start looking for Eritrean to marry living in Ethiopia. They won't quit doing that. They have the feeling that they are better than us. Maybe that is why Ethiopians hate her. Probably it's because she acts superior |
XhosaNostra:Genzeb very correctEthiopian diasporas are very hard working people. Especially in U.S.A . . . They make a lot of change in the society. From running shops to technology, they are working a lot. They keep building Orthodox churches and habesha resturants wherever they go. I think they do the same in South Africa too. They form their own community and gather anytime. In Ethiopia there are both hard working and lazy people. The lazy ones are lazy beacuse they see nothing they could benefit from working hard. It takes you 10x force to succeed in Ethiopia than in South Africa. That is why Genzeb is evil, leave alone loyality. . .siblings could suffer through More than that. My uncle himself left Ethiopia to U.S.A because his close friend wasn't loyal keeping money for the buisness they both work on. |
