PhonesRe: Streaming Or Downloading Videos, Most Cheaper?? by eDoc: 10:25am On Mar 31, 2016
AgentOfAllah:
Assuming similar video quality in both cases, then the instantaneous data cost for streaming and downloading will be the same. In the long run, however, if it's a video you wish to watch several times, then the cost of streaming, (Cstream), would scale proportionally with the number of times, (Nwatch) you watch the video that costs 'P', whereas the cost of downloading is a one off payment, which could make downloading significantly cheaper than streaming, depending on how many times you actually watch the video.

That is,
Cstream = Nwatch X P

Whereas,
Cdownload = P (Irrespective of how many times watched)
Omo you don make tins complex, which is cheaper downloading or streaming.

Me: u know your register in school, the one your aunty always use to come and call names in class?

junior: yes

Me:OK, all the classes have their own register (nursery one, nursery two...) which contains the information of each students in that class ( say Name, address, Guardian etc) each time a person wants to get information about a particular students he/she can just go to the class register and check for the students name. so a database is just like your school register in the computer
Nice one..

SportsRe: Why Nigerian Commentators Should Not Comment On Serious Matches by eDoc: 2:31pm On Mar 27, 2016
princemi:
Okay firstly I'd like to express my dismay at the poor diction and obvious lack of requisite knowledge Nigerian commentators portray in our NPFL matches and international matches vs other countries.

And secondly why are Nigerian commentators always expressing their support for the Nigerian side? what happened to just giving a fair commentary like it's done in foreign matches i watch on t.v?? you hear statements like "our" boys are playing well.

This lackluster unprofessional show of mediocrity did not start today but the commentator for today's match vs Egypt was very annoying, i mean it irked me so bad i had to volume down the t.v. but on a second thought i felt i should listen and laugh at his dumbfoundness.

As i kept watching the match, i wasn't satisfied with just listening and laughing so i started documenting (yep it was that bad).

So for those of you that didn't watch the match and those that were too angered to listen to the commentary, here are the one's i picked. Enjoy!

*The game is looking 3 points for the super eagles...really??
*Ogene Caro slide the Egypt number 11 and the ref says play on so If he likes he can lie down for the rest of the game....isn't this partial and rude to the opponent??
* As the captain of the side he would get up....(he said this when Mikel was fouled)... so only captains can get back to their feet after being fouled??
* A kick and a yellow card to....to...(trying to check for the players name but probably didn't find it)...to...(then he realised he could just say the country's name)...to Egypt
*Ogene trying to find his man...As it is this time or that time it did not work...huh
* As it is now the Egyptians would be satisfied going home conceding all 3 points to the super eagles...who told him that??
* He didn't need to do that a goal would still give us 3 points...showing preference and disrespecting the opponent again (this happened when an Egyptian defender cleared out Moses' golden chance to double the lead)
* We have 3mins to play and if you do 3min by 60 seconds we have 180seconds...the eagles should not slip up...d eagles should not slip up...oh! the Egyptians have equalized!

So there you have it, our joker of a commentator. Add up the one's i missed
what of the part where a ball kicked way over the goal post and the commentator was saying,we don't have an airline if not nigerian airways would be sent to retriveve the ball(i'm paraphasing)

if it was an egyptian that kicked the ball,it seemed we need to send egyptian airline to get the ball.
ProgrammingRe: Google Interview Question: How Would You Explain Database To A 5-year Old Child? by eDoc: 2:16pm On Mar 27, 2016
paranorman:
best explanation so far.
Let's say the kids name is Benny.
Benny, think of a database as a collection of information.
You have a dog, don't you?
You feed the dog daily. Morning and evening.
You make sure it gets its meds at the right time.
Let's'ay you make it your habit to take note or record the time you feed your dog daily and what you feed it with, and what time you give it its meds, seperately of course.

So, think of the record as a database. A record for feeds, another one for meds.

Kids might ask, "what is the importance of having records"?!

Okay Benny. Say your dog you love so much ... Hey, what's its name anyway?.. ("Yella"wink... Say Yella falls sick, you take him to the Vet and Vet, during its diagnosis, askes you what you have been feeding it with and what drugs it has been taking?

"I'd just pull it off from the records!"

good thinking Benny. So, you see the importance of databases?

"yes."

as long as you can take note of anything, have a record for it e.t.c, you can make/create a database for it.
So Benny, what's a database?

"I think a database is something like a diary".

Good Beny, good! Think of it as an advance diary that lives in computers.

So, you can make many records for Yella: its feeds, its meds, places you take it for a walk to every evening, times it barks, times it growls e.t.c. So you name the database 'life of Yella!'

so, 'life of Yella' contains informations about Yella.
Still perfect for a beginning programmer,a 5year old can't be taking note at that age,you used database alot of time, diary, information, record, diagnosis, advanced, way to much for a 5.

Me: boy where do you keep ur cloth and shoe
Boy: inside my room

Me: a database is like your room, the reason why you have a room is to 1.sleep 2. Keep up things.
Me: so I want you to leave the part of sleeping let's only discuss about keeping things
Boy: yes

Me: Good boy!
Me: so if you want to keep your cloth where would you put it ?
Boy: on my bed or floor
Me: that is wrong and your mummy won't allow, she would insist you put it in a wardrobe.. you mum is the software e.g oracle, therfore: you cannot put information anyhow into a database you have to create a databasetable(wardrobe)..
Boy: "ok"

Me: so different type of information are stored in it own databasetable e.g cloth in wardrobe, shoe in shoerack, money in safebox
Boy: I don't understand

Me: database = room (room will hold all the wardrobe where you will keep your things)
Database table = wardrobe (where you store your information(cloth)

Me: so for security purposes u can let someone into your room and not allow him enter your wardrobe or allow him into only one wardrobe.

Or you can just let him see the wardrobe information from a window and he can't enter..

E.g the database of nairaland. Seun allowed us into his room and also allowed us to put cloth in just one wardrobe.. and we can see other wardrobe e.g your friends post... but we can't touch that one..
i think i would take this as the best for a beginning programmer,to long for a 5year old,
omo you even introduced oracle, take am easy.

People hardly change - Correct
People don't change- Incorrect

People change all the time. From good to bad and vice versa. Life experiences has its toll.

Only The Holy Spirit changes a man completely.

People cannot change people that why relationships built on trying to change the other fails.
I know a once very angry man. He is a lawyer. He married his first wife ,they didn't last 8months. They were always fighting. He got married to the 2nd,a medical doc after divorcing the first, they lasted one year, had a son and divorced after much beating and fighting. He got no 3 and they fought for 6months and he accepted Christ and changed completely. His marriage is like 20yrs now. Fight and violence no more exist in his home.

You can love someone but can't change that person. It's not even allowed to change someone you love because love is a choice of acceptance.
People don't change easily.

i beg this one go correct.

And when the 3rd class grammarian and the "strong 2:1" (whatever that means sef) are presented a chance to both market themselves, the grammarian wins! Why? Cos he has been able to brand himself...presentation is key.
Good content without the right presentation won't get any attention (mehn, see my wordplay oo).

You knw moet of soundcity? Ehiz of MTVbase? Who cares about their strong 2:1? They're branded.
But the 2:1 certificate would always get the attention for interviews and the likes, while the 3rd class would never a considered during screening, before even making a presentation.

Please bear with me. The thread is a bit long. This thread is about me and not my friend. (lol)

i honestly need mature advise from the married and matured folks here.

I am in a very serious relationship with this lady. This is our 12th months together and i plan to propose to her in few months time.

I observe that she has hot temper. Each time we had little misunderstanding she flare up and wouldnt calm down for us to resolve and settle it amicably.

Being a gentleman i believe there are no perfect relationships. Quarrels and disagreements must pop up no matter what.

Yesterday we quarreled due to certain issue we had agreed on. I must confess i caused it but i was quick to realise it and apologise but she wouldnt listen. She made an attempt to call a friend of hers to report the issue. I stopped her. She again wanted to call her pastor too i blocked her hands and was surprise why she is inviting third parties to our matter. She was even voicing it out for people to hear us quarreling and i was calming her down to lower her voice.

This lady is the type every man needs. Religious, good cook, prayerful and she gives me advise on so many occasion.

Her parents are late and she was abandoned by her brothers and sisters due to change of religion. I dont know maybe this affected her attitude.

I myself i have my own wrong sides yet i am ready to accept her wrong and hope she do the same to me. But she wouldnt.

I have talked to her about her anger and made her understand that it is not good for us. Yet yesterdays event surprised me.

Please sorry about the long post. I just need advise or advises about how to handle this issue with my woman.

To add she is 23 and i am 29 years.
You never marry, yet you called her your wife.
My observation is this, she may have grown up in an environment where been right or correct as other people call it is solidly enforced,i used the word enforced because in a situation where an individual sees every incident as been right or wrong, can be deadly, they see everything on face value and always need witnesses to confirm and valid their opinion of been the one that is correct, hence the call she attempted to make to the pastor and neighbours,if that is the case it is not an anger issue,it's letting things go even when they are right,so that the individual learns from such experience,
When see becomes a mother, she go so drum into your kids heads, their undoings,

My advise make her understand, that we can not be all right, all the time, and even if we are,it shouldn't be a contest of who should back down first.

Psychology is just a term to justify such action but it isn't enough, like any thing in life there are ups and down side to life, for a mainly masculine oriented world,a woman ruffles you up because you refuse a request,it's inexcusable knowing that see the pastor or spiritual leader was for counselling purpose, the op's action could be an oportunity for the lady to soul search and make a turn around for the better,if not she is missing the point,Life is what we make it.
