Si hermano. Buh know i'm a christian witness too(for 7yrs now). It took me tym to accept being one buh truth shines and only those that have eyes could see and open up to welcome God's spirit. I have mi suspicions that Myjoe was once a witness(although not totally sure). I've seen truth in d organisation of Jehovah's Witnesses and i and mi family are remaining in. I wonder where people who hasn't seen truth are looking from. There's been no criticism on the organisation that i haven't heard(major critics are always ex-jw). So its not new to me(cos i was once a critic). Just gotta tell you to safeguard your mind as we contend with the destructive wisdom(which always wears the mask of true knowledge) of satan's system.

@Maximus,opened the thread to answer questions the way jws do. You throw in the question and wait for a reply/answer(since its onlyn not a face2face discussion). And from all i can gather,the questions mr.Maximus was anticipating were supposed to be based on beliefs supported by the bible.
@mr.Nimshi,mr.Myjoe and other guys(whose posts are insignificant when compared to the chief opposers mentioned above)made up their mind to derail the thread(although not totally because i enjoyed the arguments made therein). With mr.Nimshi starting with questions that have nothing to do with mr.Maximus' intentions of starting the thread. Mr. Myjoe started with claims of wanting to bring facts buh later argued from sourceless angles buh still tries to elevate his own thinking capacity above that of others(this i disagree with). @mr. Barrister,brought up documents and argued ferociously(of course,as barristers are knwn for) though he made use of words i think are degrading(tho all except mr. Max are guilty of this). After considering the sites mr. Nim brought up,i declare them unreliable since non is from a reliable source even if they're from the internet(all from jw haters). As for mr. Myjoe,talking about reasonableness,putting faith and calling anytin you see on the internet fact does not spell well and is an insult to reasonableness itself,do refrain from boasting of a greater thinking ability than others and the claim that you don't hate jws,stop saying that because its obvious its the opposite. @truthislight,its not noble to accuse mr. First,i want to say thank you for your time in putting all these together. I haven't read a lot of books buh i believe what you believe. I totally agree with you. I think i'm reasonable enough to take this stand. I too would rather die to discover that there was no God than to die to find out there is. I don't see the harm believing in God will do to anybody buh i can imaging the dangerous conditions the opposite will bring. I have mi own fair share of knowledge,science wise e.t.c. There the apostle Peter called God's people the name God Himself called his people at ISAIAH 43:10. Mi question is if the people spoken of at Acts 15 are the gentiles(as a christian you are expected to know what the term means) where do all these christian churches get their names from?. Most of the names i saw when i visited Ajegunle spell scam. Forgive me for bringing it out like this,I do not see any other way to tell people of what i found while studying the bible. These are the words I have heard from some Nigerian atheists. Some from internet chats on facebook and some from my few atheists friends in London. They just look at Nigeria as hopeless and they resign to living a life of suffering while smiling. I am even seeing some of this sentiment here on Nairaland.


Talk to an American or British atheist and you will notice the difference. Many of them are ready to speak up for their rights peacefully. There are those that speak in public, while there are those who choose to be active on the internet. There are also those who hold private groups and advice other atheists.



I am starting to believe that Nigerian atheists, christians and muslims all share one thing in common- they have been domesticated and silenced by corrupt and dictatorial leaders with fear, hunger and a lawless society. So, it doesnt matter if you're an intelligent freethinker that has freed himself of the shackles of religion in Nigeria, you have been domesticated not to speak against the ruling power. You cant even reason to start a silent revolution. Yes, a silent revolution- how many Nigerian atheists have had the simple guts of a coward to even anonymously send respectful letters/emails to religious leaders explaining the problems of religious intolerance or dogmatic beliefs. If that is even too much, where are the Nigerian atheist blogs? The only proper Nigerian atheist blog I know is dead http://nigerianatheist..co.uk/


One funny thing is that the only Nigerians that I know that give me hope for Nigerian atheism/secularism/agnosticism are the few afrocentric atheist Nigerians in diaspora. I have two friends who are desperate to see change in Nigeria. They have travelled to and fro to Nigeria in recent years and they are willing to see a change in Nigeria. A discussion with them has given me hope. One is starting his own blog, just like me to educate fellow Nigerians. The other already has laid the groundwork for a secular charity that would spread its mission statement that good can be done without religion. Apart from my personal friends, there are even black British and African Americans (who I have seen speaking in public) who are willing and interested in doing campaigns in Africa- and Nigeria is always one of the first countries on their mind.
Shameless talk. I still argue that you know nothing about what you are talking about. You are really a confused fellow. There's no religious politician in Nigeria incase you don't know. They only pretend to ally with religion while they do totally something different. Only unstable fellows like you,people who are not sure of anything AFRICAN.
