DMerciful01:If you don't have anything meaningful to contribute, please allow others to do so. That you have some Ebonyians hawking on the street does not give you the room to generalise. There's no way government will award such amount without having beneficiaries or anticipated beneficiaries. |
The Ebonyi government has approved the release of N2 billion for the payment of scholarship grants to the successful candidates selected for the government’s sponsored university scholarships. This is contained in a statement on Tuesday signed by Mr Jude Okpor, Commissioner for Information and Orientation and made available to journalists in Abakaliki. He said that the approval was part of the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting held on Monday and presided over by Governor Francis Nwifuru. He said: “Following the State Executive Council’s approval of the list of 597 successful candidates to study in Nigerian universities as submitted by the State Scholarship Board, over N2 billion has been approved by EXCO. “This amount covers school fees, research funding and living expenses of the scholarship beneficiaries.” The statement stated that the Council further resolved that the research funds be paid to the universities alongside the school fees to avoid mismanagement by beneficiaries. “That civil servants who sail through the eligibility processes of the scholarship programme are to be granted study leave with pay in addition to other privileges.” The commissioner said that the council also resolved that giving adequate publicity on the achievements and activities of the government should be the exclusive duty of the state information/public relations officers. “Council resolved that all Information Officers and Public Relation Officers should henceforth take full charge of their responsibilities as the mouthpiece and image-makers of their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). “They are to ensure that government achievements receive the widest publicity as and when due,” Okpor stated. He said the government was determined to enhance the fire fighting capacity of the Ebonyi Fire Service and has approved the purchase of two numbers of fire fighting trucks to complement the existing ones. “Following recent fire outbreaks in the state and in line with the government’s determination to combat future occurrences, EXCO approved the purchase of two nos fire trucks. “Also, Council approved the release of funds for the construction of about one-kilometre road leading to Ebonyi Waste Pulverisation Plant, Enyim, Unwuoghara, and directed Commissioner for Transport and Special Projects to ensure speedy completion,” he added. Okpor noted that the council expressed commitment to the state government in revamping and resuscitating the state healthcare facilities in the general hospitals across the state and thus, approved the renovation of doctors’ quarters in some general hospitals. https://punchng.com/ebonyi-approves-n2bn-scholarship-grants-for-597-beneficiaries/

A staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu has taken to X to call him out over egg. The X user who reaffirmed his “forever” loyalty to the President in February this year, disclosed that egg suppliers in Akure, Ondo state, have all closed down and there are no longer eggs in the market. He further accused the Nigerian leader of ruining the economy. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2024/7/former-supporter-of-president-bola-tinubu-calls-him-out-over-egg-2.html

What kind of dressing is this? They ended up embarrassing themselves. KIP - keep it simple. |
Even on 'faceless' forum such as nairaland, I'm always conscious of the kind of post I make talk more ones like Facebook. For me, there's no need for the divorce. Just talk to her about making such as a married person. Such post could and attract the wrong signals. |
BlueRayDick:You are right. In politics, it's all about interest. |
Guess who the Editor-in-Chief of this News Magazine was?

DevilsEqual:What she's trying to say is be yourself and don't try to copy others especially on virtual space like the social media. All that glitters is not always good. People sometimes share only what they want you to believe. The person you think is better of social media may be fighting his or her own battle quietly without your knowledge. |

Wakatumbit:She's just looking for a way to blackmail you emotionally. If there's alternative to feeding your family including your wife's mum and siblings, let her go ahead and do so. At Op, there's a reason you are the head of the family. This is the time to be firm in taking decisions that will have a great impact on your family. If your wife's family insist they must stay, then it's time to cut expenses except for your child. The moment your wife's family is of the understanding their presence is no longer needed, they will go. It's obvious your marriage is still young and your wife ( probably doesn't have anything doing), is yet to come to terms with reality. It is time to be firm except you want yoir home to collapse financially. Don't be bothered with your wife's tantrums, with time she will understand. NB: Whatever decision you decide to take, let wisdom be your guide. It's well my brother. |

What else do you want him to say? He warned Nigerians against voting this present government. At a point he even made it clear that Nigerians have short memories. In other words, we tend to forget fast. We are the one currently complaining. Nothing concerns him. |
Peter Obi addressed Wole Soyinka’s issue on Arise TV “He’s an elder and I don’t talk when elder talk but when I get to that age, I would want the younger generation to respect me and I would put myself in a position to be respected” |
But that portrait does not resemble him. The artist did a poor job. |
What about Yahaya Bello? Even though I don't like Elrufai, I'm beginning to believe those who think EFCC is an instrument for witch hunting. |
@Mynd Please kindly close this thread. It's gradually degenerating to some other things. Thank you. |
