The Red Cross in Abuja reports 50 injuries
Nigeria closes its borders with Niger and Cameroon and imposes a state of emergency
The Islamist militant group Boko Haram claims responsibility

Lagos, Nigeria (CNN) -- Nigeria imposed a 24-hour curfew Saturday in the northern city of Kano after assailants killed scores of people and wounded others in a hail of gunfire and coordinated bombings of eight government sites.

A military official told CNN that at least 156 people were dead and feared the number would rise.

"The hospitals are not equipped to deal with the influx and severity of the injuries, so we are expecting that figure to go up further," the official said.

Nwankpa Nwankpa, a Red Cross information officer in the capital, Abuja, said 50 people were injured in the attacks. He said that search and rescue operations are underway and volunteers are working to assist the injured. . . . .

Don't make fun of patriots who died serving their country. Those soldiers being fed are on duty and cannot leave their posts for anything in the world, thus have to be fed by the army management.

Borno Governor is not a sponsor of Boko Haram but was involved in its founding era alongside former Governor Sheriff. They have long lost control of the group. That is if the group doesn't eliminate them.

Its a note of warning to PDP on the dangers of using young men to intimidate their opponents and at the end of the day dumping them. Boko Haram is a product of that and the Governor is PDP!
Do you know anything about what you're saying? Borno state governor is in the ANPP!

Which country gives officials immunity to treason? NIGERIAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
It's not the country as such, it's the useless 1999 constitution we operate with. It's almost like the system is working against it self, but i'm really impressed with our security agencies none the less. When we have a system that allows criminals be elected into office, it results in what we have today in the country. But who even screens these people before they become candidates? Isn't it the SSS.

Watching Bendtner for Sunderland

I just wonder Wenger ever saw in him at any point in his career
It's like taking a gamble, the secret is knowing when to pull out. Fergy would never have kept someone for that long no matter the promise the player exhibited as a youngster.
Wenger seems to show too much loyalty to players who will dump him the minute they smell an extra penny elsewhere.

PoliticsRe: Serving Northern Governor Under Investigation For Strong Links With Bokoharam ! by edoyad(op): 2:21am On Jan 14, 2012
Due to popular demand:

A serving governor in one of the northern
states is under investigation over alleged
sponsorship of the Islamic sect,Boko
Haram. Security agencies have already
raised a panel to quiz him on the
allegation.
But he is not the only one under such
scrutiny.Security operatives are on the trail
of several other politicians from the North
to come and say what they have in
common with the sect. . . . .   . .

Investigation by our correspondent
revealed that security reports have indicted
the governor for having a 'deep'
relationship with Boko Haram. . . .

The governor, according to sources,has
been evasive by hiding under one official
engagement or the other.
A reliable source said: "A serving northern
governor has been indicted by security
reports as having intimate connection with
Boko Haram.
. . . .
said governor is already aware and he has
been moving here and there, including
some trips to Niger Republic and Chad .
"As a result of the immunity he enjoys, he
cannot be directly arrested. But all the
details are being assembled and a security
committee has been constituted to
confront him with such details.
"Once the evidence is confirmed as
incontrovertible, further steps can then be
taken to ensure prosecution in line with
treason and such charges. "
Responding to a question, the source
added: "The government has decided to
bring sanity to this whole issue of
insecurity. Some security agencies which
have been on the trail of those concerned
in recent times have reports indicting a
number of persons, including government
officials."
. .  . . .
The source said: "A list of government
officials and those to be quizzed from the
North has been compiled by security
agencies. There are intelligence reports
that some of them are planning to flee
abroad.
"But there is no hiding place for them.
Security agencies have been placed on the
alert in all airports and seaports,” a sources
said.
. . .
"Some of the suspects are said to be on the
run to Niger Republic and Chad too."
But following fears of jailbreak and
invasion, security was beefed up yesterday
around the 17 Boko Haram members flown
from Damaturu to Abuj, . .
