logica: And to those who crave long life so much even if they are so useless (even to the point of wearing diapers and sh!tting on themselves):
Che Guevera - Died aged 39 Jesus - Died aged 33 Steve Jobs - Died aged 54
Yet we feel the impact of their lives to mankind and continue to remember them. Babangida will die over 70 years and will not be remembered in the next generation. actually the slowpoke will be remembered in the next generation. He will be remembered as the kind of person we should never aspire to be like. |

Never knew, that's truly sad. Jakumo: That is precisely what I am saying, Edoyad. University campuses are regarded as "soft targets" by professional bank robbery gangs, because the police guards posted on campuses are instructed to be extremely careful about the direction in which they fire their weapons, for fear of accidentally hitting students that mill all around the targetted banks.
The robbers, however, have NO concerns about who gets hit when the shooting starts, which hands them an huge tactical advantage over the police, in that specific campus setting. Reports from security operatives not far from today's attack cite the total of FIVE armed bank robberies recorded over the past 12 months within the campus of Babcock University, located a few miles away from the institution where today's raid occurred.
The equation is a simple one : No more banks on campuses = No more bank robberies on campuses. |

Jakumo: AK47 empty shell casings by the bushel-basket-full speak of sustained horror and bloodshed. That empty AK ammo clip was obviously dropped in the heat of the operation, along with the strong-room key, but the killers will no doubt have many more magazines to use on future assignments.
Close university campus banks NOW. Are you trying to say there's a higher occurence of robberies among banks located in University Campuses. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Let's Stop Calling Barca - Bakar. by edoyad(m): 4:12pm On Nov 10, 2011 |
BizBooks: Whenever Barcelona is being discussed, you invariably hear somebody call them Bakar. This is obviously an attempt to pronounce their short name - Barca. But Barca is pronounced - BASAR not BAKAR.
As the saying goes, if you want to know how a word is pronounced, you listen to the native speakers. If you listen to the Spanish and even English football commentators, you will clearly hear them use the correct pronunciation - BASAR.
I do not think this error in pronunciation is a deliberate attempt to insult the club. But I have heard so many people make this mistake that I am compelled to write about it. I remember i first heard that term Basar being used by Tommy Smyth with a Y on ESPN back in the late 90s. But I wonder why Nigerians are fond of pronouncing it Bakar |

It's unfortunate but I think Nigeria will soon cease to exist in the form in which we know it. It's been a while coming so no one here should feign ignorance untainted: Thanks demdem but what will you have GEJ do? The problems of insecurity did not start with him, I think some people just seize the moment to rubbish jonathan. Inefficiency in the security agencies had always been with us but some people (a powerful clique) who want to portray GEJ as clueless are hellbent on rubbishing him through BH. No matter how tough or capable you are, the solutioon lies in addressing the system and not showing off as a strong man. I lived in the north; I know how porous the borders are and how weak the security arrangement is. Blaming the rot on GEJ's inefficiency is a bit unfair. You cannot wish sanity into existence in this case because it is a rot that has lasted decades. Besides, we know how easily it is to obtain most of the materials for bomb making and the non existence of any meaningful record keeping by our traders in case you want to identify people who bought so so and so. With the unregulated nature of our markets and traders, where will you start asking the question? And with due respect to my Moslem brothers, it is alarming the rate at which hate messages are preached in some mosques in the north and especially the ones that circulate on mobile phones. GEJ cannot stop the hate messages and that is basically what fuels this crisis. I have about six of these audio hate messages and I shiver whenever I listen to them knowing how persuasive the orators are and the effect the messages will have on misguided Moslems(who are many) |
