Yes, but u need to be sure that the panels are arranged facing the proper direction n more so get the total cumulation of ur load to ascertain that the DC energy generated is sufficient for use during sunny hours n at night

Hello house, I have a 5kva/24v felicity inverter, a 60A PowMr solar charge controller, two Vitra 12v220a tubular batteries and four 300W panels. I noticed that using with from around 11am with my freezer, TV and two fans, the system goes off before 9pm even when I put off the freezer before 4pm. I expected to have at least 18hrs with this setup which is less than 3months old, but I'm disappointed with the results. I intend to add two more 300w panels, please would this help increase how much supply time I get from this system? Any advise will be welcomed.

Definitely there's going to be difference in charging going by these mathematical calculations.

12v 100ah
12.8v x 100ah = 1,280wh/1.28kwh

2 x 415watt panels = 830watt

So, 1,280wh ÷ 830watt = 1.542h. So approximately within 2 - 3hours of a great sunlight n provided the inverter system is idle, the battery should be fully charged

24v 100ah
12.8v × 2 × 100ah = 2,560wh/2.56kwh

2 x 415watt panels = 830watt

So, 2,560wh/830watt = 3.08h. By this calculation, the 24volts pack should attain full charge within 3 - 4hours provided all other factors is considered.

In conclusion, 12volt 100ah battery is not the same as 24volt 100ah battery. When in use under the same condition, 24volt 100ah battery would last longer than 12volt 100ah battery

Pls bell my curiosity. For 2 colleagues installations, curious as to which would be more efficient. A 2kva12v hybrid inverter connected to a 12v200ah lithium battery and a 4.2kva24v hybrid inverter connected to a 24v100ah lithium battery. Both using 2 415watt jasolar panels. Would there be any difference also in the charging time and discharge rate assuming same loads? Thanks

If u have a total budget of 130k for an inverter and CC, I would suggest u get a 1kva Afripower inverter n 30amps MPPT CC instead of that Firman....

All d battery can't be equal all at the same time, though battery balancer handles that so well but with that manual equalisation, at least there would be 0.1 disparity, which is not bad at all

Update... i stopped the charging(nepa take light), applied some load now... there is a 0.1v difference . 3batteries at 12.2v and that one at 12.1v. 30mins later... 3batteries at 12.1v that one at 12v... 🤐

Mostly is advisable to use battery equaliser for a 48volt system cos of stuff like this, normally what I do on site when I want to install 4 battery is that I will parallel all battery with a DC cable first thing first, then continue with other activity, I do that to balance the battery voltage to prevent issue like this. Once the battery with 11.8 reaches 11volt, then ur inverter will start buzzing. To solve the disparity in voltage, disconnect d 4battery from the inverter n charge controller, place them on a spacious place, get a 16mm DC cable n connect all Positive terminal together n do same for Negative terminals too... but u have to be extra ordinarily careful when doing it cos d positive cable mustn't come in contact with the negative cable or better still, get an engineer to help u with it. I base in Ibadan in case u also resident here

Happy sunday everyone. Out of curiosity, i got a multimeter... i have 4 batteries connected in series..after testing all came out 12.2v except one which came out 11.8v. Note that they re not fully charged as i have used them b4 testing... my question is, are they not suppose to discharge on thesame level??.. as same 12.2v for all??

Regarding the quote u posted for vetting, first of all, I would advice u go for LiFePO4 battery instead of Tubular battery

Depends on you budget though but I would suggest you get a 1kva Mercury/Afripower inverter, 180watt x 4pcs, 50Ah LiFePO battery / 200Ah Dry cell battery and 30amps 12/24v MPPT controller

Since you looking at buying only inverter and battery, then charge controller is not necessary. Charge controller only comes into the picture when u want to install solar panels

Of course I would recommend that you get Lithium battery cos it has 100% depth of discharge n little space for its installation
