This is a New Year, we must plan our things especially the case of carry over in higher institutions. Some students get carryover not because they are lazy or dull, some might be as a result of mistake or penalties. If you find yourself having carryover that is not the end, you still have many chances to accomplish your aim and target especially your G.P this year. Below are step by step guide to follow if you have carryover: 1. Check your result : this is the first thing to do when your result is released, check and confirm your result and your matric number before any further step. Write out your result, and concentrate more on the one you have carryover. Try to remember what you scored in test, this will help a lot. 2. Go to the department to complaint: you need courage and pray to do this because lectures hate students coming to their office for complains. Do it humbly, present your test score to the lecture to see if the carryover is possible or not. Beg him to show you your grade in test and exam, add both and confirm whether you have carryover or not. If you have carryover continue reading. 3. Go for counsel: some students believe it’s only students with low G.P that need Counsel. No, go for counsel, these people are mothers and fathers, they have their own children and know what it takes to help others. They can help you because most of them have each lecturer’s number, and know how to penetrate them. 4. Collect rectification form: go to your department as early as possible to purchase your rectification form because it can finish any time. It’s not more than 500 naira. 5. Write letter rectifying letter: Some schools do ask for written letters to complement the rectification form where students explain their problems and analysis their scores. 6. Stamp your rectification form: this is very important, go to your departmental secretary for stamping. This is because your form is going to another department and they need prove to confirm your department. 7. Submit your form: you need to submit the form to appropriate quarter for examination and grading. 8. Start prayer: you need prayer, pray until you are satisfied. 9. Check the board for update: you need to check the result board frequently for update in your result. Be patience, calm and relax everything will work well 10. Celebrate: when you eventually see your result upgraded, call me to rejoice with you. http://www.9jaread.com/2016/07/1o-steps-to-follow-if-you-have-carryover.html Prevention is better than cure.... The world we found ourselves makes parents weep for the future of young ones in this Country because millions of students graduate from Nigerian Higher Institution every year without hope of getting employed. Gone are the days where graduates are begged for job after completing their degree in various universities. Here are killer tips that will help students get job and be a job provider after your stay in School. http://www.9jaread.com/2016/07/23-ways-to-make-money-in-higher.html---> 23 Ways to Make Money in Higher Institution[/a] 1. Use your Brain when choosing your Course: Gone are the days students choose courses because their parents like them or because many students are choosing them. Look through the future before choosing, I will advise you to choose any of these courses whenever you want to fill your JAMB. · Courses that include Transaction (people will always buy and sell till Jesus comes). · Courses that deals with people’s health · Courses that relate to food, Housing, Fashion and Social Amenities. · Courses that relate to Internet and Social Media · Courses that requires professionalism (their works can’t be easily done by other people) etc. 2. Develop good communication skill: I am not talking of speaking English alone, I am talking of ability to pass message or information to people, with good and unique dialect which can be in English or your native language. 3. Learn a trade: it’s good to stay focus on campus, but you can’t be one way direction and expect something special, you can combine learning trades even during your stay in school learn Fashion designing, Saloon work, Catering, Event Planner etc.. 4. Exposition: you see many students, they only know the course they are studying, ask them something outside their course they will be looking at you. Who knows when opportunity will come, learn far than what you are studying, you are studying Banking and Finance learn something about Animal Health; opportunity = preparation + favor, you need to prepare by reading wide, use google, read books. 5. Be computer literate: learn computer and internet, these days all activities are mostly done on web. It is far more than using Facebook, Microsoft word etc .Wise up this is 21st Century, learn things like graphic design, web designing, blogging, online transaction etc. 6. Work in industries related in the course you are studying during your holidays: spend your holidays wisely, look for industries and firms related to your course, beg them to work with them you can even work for free; you are not stupid doing that you are gaining experience. 7. Graduate with good grades: this is also important, you need to work to have good grades. Good grades attracts employers to give you jobs. It also creates an edge advantage over other job seekers. 8. Start small scale business: even during your stay on campus, involve yourselves in small business, don’t be carried away with the profit, go for the knowledge. It will teach you 4 things: · How to spend · How to save · How to invest · How to borrow 9. Get yourself a mentor: look for a notable person in your field, learn from him/her and ask questions about how he made his/her way up in his/her career. 10. Get a specific Brand: let me explain this, if you hear the name Dangote what comes to your mind – Businessman, Linda- blogger, Messi- footballer. You should have what people know you for, this will not only provide jobs but make you job provider. 11. Determine and develop your Talent: you have something you are good at, develop it and create passion for it; it will create opportunity for you. 12. Be friendly with people: you don’t know who can help you in life, please keep your pride and relate with people whether young or old, rich or poor. You don’t need a sentiment life, accept people the way they are. 13. Connect with people at the top: learn to look upward, connect with people at the top, move with future oriented people. 14. Tell the world what you are endowed with: don’t keep your knowledge to yourself, help people with the little you have. It provides bigger task with bigger knowledge. 15. Commit your ways to God: God is the only one that can lead and direct a man to his destination, put your trust in him and get yourself secured.
