andrew444: Its good you called musa, seems you call for musa i will agree with you.
But we all know dinosaur Rohr will never play musa there Musa is a LWF/false 9 and not a lone forward. He played as a lone striker against Serbia but didn't deliver. His best games has always been as a false 9, against Arg (friendly) he came on as a sub to provide assist for Iwobi's second goal and against Iceland where he scored two. Musa needs space to operate. |

We have enough mid-fielders for the SA game Iwobi and Iheanacho as AMs,Ajayi and John Ogu as DMs and Mikel Agu and Etebo as CMFs.This makes it a total of 6 mid-fielders. |

AIG07: It's been a while here.
So sad we will miss Ighalo... Hope Success will live up to the expectations and deliver goals.
Iwobi is our only hope in the middle.
Rohr's conservativeness is holding this team back. We are in this state of dilemma at the goalkeeping department because of him. Now that Uzoho is out, we are left with no other choice than to anchor our last line of defense on Akpeyi, Ezenwa, Afelokhai...
The difference between this team and the one that faced the Southies last year is Balogun. This match will be a real test for the boys and will help us in measuring the teams growth.
Learnt that Baxter has recalled Tau (their talisman). Hmmm...
Qualification na im be koko. Make we sha qualify. Wrong, we now have Collins not Echiejile and Iwobi as AM not Etebo, coupled with the fact that our starting XI are all regulars in their clubs except Balogun. |

Joebie: Rohr’s likely starting lineup VS SA Rohr has no plan of playing Musa as a 9.In our 1st game against Libya, he(Success) came on as a sub for Ighalo. If we re to go by your formation, it means Rohr would have subbed in Success for either Musa or Kalu in the last match. Recall that ,if not for Ebuehi and Shehu's injuries Aina wouldn't have played RB because he was invited for the LB position. Musa played the no.9 position against Serbia but didn't deliver. |

Iheanacho was great at Man City, he was sold because the new coach didn't want him anymore, so, how is that his fault? I see.Sarri doesn't like Vic Mo. |

TheGoodJoe: To get the best out of a player, you need to play him in the best system that suits him. Just as to get the best out of a system, you need to play the best players that suit the system. The so called system already has players who are better than him. Should we throw Gabby J and Aguero out to accommodate him. |

TheGoodJoe: You are still off point. The question is not who Nacho will bench but which is his ideal position. What you wrote up there is like saying Solanke is not a striker because he can not bench anyone in Liverpool or England.
Puel is not a creative attacking coach. He does not play with a high line or press high. His team hardly dominates in chances created.
Nacho is a player meant for a creative attacking system that creates chances. Then you will see his force.
Neither Puel nor Nigeria's regular setup offers this. But Mancity offers all this. We re here to analyse football and shouldn't let sentiments becloud our judgement. We saw Nacho play SS against Poland,AM against Seychelles and CF against Argentina and SA. We keep on blaming coaches when the truth is there for all to see. Finito. |

TheGoodJoe: I have answered the question repeatedly. Nacho has a killer attribute. When utilized properly, he pulled stats with some of the best in the game. His best attribute is his finishing. Which means he is a striker.
In the SA game, we played with zero supply and Rohr's conservative style has hindered us enjoying the electric finishing of Nacho.
Find the best attribute of a player and you find his position.
Unless you have another theory, it is...
Finito. Just mention one player that Nacho can bench in our current starting eleven. Puel played Iheanacho as a striker either last two weeks or so did he deliver? No. He played as a false 9 against Argentina and Iceland without assists or goals to his name. You mean the Puel of this season is also conservative? You also mean we should play a formation that will favour Nacho. This is unalloyed emotive prejudice (In Komekn's voice). Modified:His free-kick ability is the only thing we missed which is not enough to start him ahead of another player. Even Guardiola was aware of his finishing but still left him on the bench for Gabby J. In football all round play is of utmost important. |

BascoVanVeli: Any of Iheanacho, Osimhen or Success can do the job just fine. But I would have wanted to see Odey replace Ighalo on the list. Give these boys a path to the top. They leave the league and we immediately forget about and that is not right. The goal should be to make them the best they can be not just send them to Europe. We should all be very proud of Odey as he is beating the odds before our very eyes and the coach should be encouraging that. This does not mean that Henry doesn't deserve his spot btw Iheanacho was the striker when we lost 2-0 to SA at home. |

andrew444: I never meant awoniyi should be invited now bro
I am making an example with last season okay, and when awoniyi was scoring those goals he was not even considered
Osimhen has 1 cap during is Wolfsburg stint and he didn't even score a single goal for Wolfsburg then ,so you can see what I am saying ?
Even if awoniyi has osimhen form right now he will never be considered
Even when onyekuru was tearing Belgium apart he was not even invited quickly This is just like inviting Alhassan Ibrahim ahead of Iheanacho because he doesn't get game time for City. Wolfsburg is far far better than Gent. |

tbaba1234: Awoniyi scored 7 goals in over 20 league games in the league last season. Awoniyi has not scored at all this season in the league after 10 games.
Osimhen already has 5 goals in 7 league games.
The invitation might be early for Osimhen but i do not think Awoniyi has done enough so far to force the coach's hand.
Rohr clearly likes Osimhen so it is not surprising that he is getting called up. 7 goals in 20 games is not too good for a striker playing in the Belgian league(a league known for having poor defence).Onyekuru who played for Eupen as a LWF had 25 goals last 2 seasons in that same league but S.Moses kept on receiving call-ups ahead of him.He was even the top scorer in the league before he got injured. |

AIG07: The November list didn't come as surprise to me. One thing this list and the previous ones have done is that, it continues to show that the man Rohr does not know the way to the promise land. He has contributed immensely to our football by bringing us out of agonizing period of bad football and barrenness, he has brought back the fear factor known with the Super Eagles on the African continent. In short, he has achieved more in few years that he has spent with us.
Going forward, I'm afraid to say the man lacks idea(s) to improve the SE. We might continue to win our African opponents and even go on to win AFCON 19. But truth be told, the farthest his revolution will take us is just a football orgasm and we will be back again to the drawing board.
Note: why do some people get emotional and attack others for stating their opinions. Just saw where Mickael2 was attacked for writing off the team’s chances against SA. On paper, with the thin midfielders we will be parading, we don't stand a chance and every reasonable pundits will never give the Eagles a walkover over the southies. Not forgetting that they whipped our ass right there at our backyard.
We all hope the team wins. Abeg make we take am easy, at least he is no longer conservative as many here believes. I don't see anything wrong with the list.Add Iwobi,Iheanacho and Ajayi to that midfield and it's 5 mid-fielders.What then is our problem? |

If Musa did the same thing we don't get that winner from Ighalo. [quote author=BascoVanVeli post=72230213]In football you play to ur strength.Ndidi might not have much goals and assists to his name but his strength lies in his tackling and ability to play short passes. Mikel slows attack but is still a very good ball- holder , has an eye for final passes and dictates the tempo of the game. Every footballer(Messi inclusive) have their strengths and weaknesses. |

tbaba1234: Simon Moses and Idowu did not even make the match day squad.. That's crazy.. Does this mean that Onyekuru is now ahead of Simon in the pecking order?
Omeruo is now ahead of Awaziem too and Ezenwa ahead of Akpeyi.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpY-iNRX4AE-zED.jpg Our biggest mistake in the WC was leaving Ebuehi on the bench and playing a defensive minded Idowu as LWB. Iwobi should have paired Musa upfront in our 3-5-2.(the same guy that scored 2 goals against them in a friendly). Rohr really learnt his lessons seeing as he dropped Idowu for Jamilu collins. Most of our CBs won't be available for Qatar 22.Apart from Ekoong who by then will be 28 and might not have that much pace by then.Omeruo's lack of pace resulted in Argentina's first goal. Awaziem is more of a utility player than a CB(though he still has time on his side to master a particular position),the SA and Serbia games comes to mind. |

Rohr works with his assistants and listens to them.
