the best role form mikel in the current super eagles is the 'andrea pirlo' role(deep laying play maker) where as ndidi will be the ram in the middle while iwobi will be deployed as the number 10
Who pairs Mikel since Ndidi is suspended for the next match?

What we are talking about is not a weakness but laziness at best. No player can be exempted from heading the ball
laziness?

That is the thing, look how far back u have to go. He has the size to win his fair share of them but he rarely even tries. If Musa did the same thing we don't get that winner from Ighalo.
[quote author=BascoVanVeli post=72230213]In football you play to ur strength.Ndidi might not have much goals and assists to his name but his strength lies in his tackling and ability to play short passes.

Mikel slows attack but is still a very good ball- holder , has an eye for final passes and dictates the tempo of the game.

Every footballer(Messi inclusive) have their strengths and weaknesses.

Not exactly what I was talking about. I mean aerial duels, he never tries to win any and that will cost his team if it continues
I recall he tried to win one against Leicester last season.

Has anybody noticed that Iwobi never tries to head the ball?
Iwobi scored the equalizer against Bayern in preseason last year with his head.

Simon Moses and Idowu did not even make the match day squad.. That's crazy.. Does this mean that Onyekuru is now ahead of Simon in the pecking order?

Omeruo is now ahead of Awaziem too and Ezenwa ahead of Akpeyi.

Our biggest mistake in the WC was leaving Ebuehi on the bench and playing a defensive minded Idowu as LWB.

Iwobi should have paired Musa upfront in our 3-5-2.(the same guy that scored 2 goals against them in a friendly).

Rohr really learnt his lessons seeing as he dropped Idowu for Jamilu collins.

Most of our CBs won't be available for Qatar 22.Apart from Ekoong who by then will be 28 and might not have that much pace by then.Omeruo's lack of pace resulted in Argentina's first goal.

Awaziem is more of a utility player than a CB(though he still has time on his side to master a particular position),the SA and Serbia games comes to mind.

The same technical committee that criticised Rohr for not taking Agbo to the WC.They also said they were not contacted b4 the release of the final 23-man list for WC.

Rohr works with his assistants and listens to them.

Some say Rohr is conservative but in the match against Iceland he started Musa for the first time with Iheanacho.

I tire. Our two most creative players are a 31 year old Mikel who is on the wane and Iwobi. Mikel is out injured and instead of trying out another AM, Rohr does nothing and stockpiles on CM and some see nothing wrong with it.
Iheanacho can play as AM just like he did against Seychelles.

I'm shocked bro..Some were saying he is 42.
These are the same Nigerians that watched the 2013 u-17 world cup and saw how.young that set was.... Even the 2015 set..
A lot of Nigerians just watch the national team games...They don't follow the national team or the players...
If the likes of Samuel Chukwueze,Kingsley Michael and Osimhen resurface in the super eagles now, they will b saying they are old...
The same way they said Mikel was 30 when he played U17 15 yrs ago.

Rohr's list is decent.

We just hope he gets it right tactically.

But how come no creative Midfielder cos I'm so sure Iwobi will be on the wings

No Shehu as RB
Iheanacho is likely to play as 10 or SS just like he did in our last match.

He also played as a striker at the U20. He was also a striker at Udinese.

Granada playing him as a winger has not really helped his career much. Watford should develop him more as a CF.
Exactly, Iheanacho was a no.10 b4 Mancity converted him to a 9 and in Leicester he plays the SS which is similar to 10.

Most times players do well in their natural positions.

Emenike had an average career. Take away the AFCON and golden boot he is a nobody.
I disagree.

Two assists in the WC speaks a lot of his quality.

How many did Ighalo have?

Nigerian footballers to watch as UCL kicks -off tomorrow
Arnault Danjuma-Club Brugge.(LWB)Will Danjuma's performance earn him a call-up?

Henry Onyekuru- Galatasary.(LWF)Will Onyekuru score tommorrow? Onyekuru has been unlucky with the teams he has played for in terms of quality defence, from Eupen to Anderlecht to Galatasaray.
Will mass defence and falling back of their wingers earn them a win tomorrow?

Yes so, so full of potentials and very energetic too. Bordeaux defense was shitty..that's what cost them the game
Moses only plays well against African opposition as a winger. But against Europeans I'll pick Onyekuru and Kalu ahead of him as "wingers".

NFF is not the only FA with controversy, stop shifting the fault to to them. And yes, some of Vicmo's behavior implied lack of commitment
As a WB Vic.Mo is our best but as a winger Onyekuru and Kalu are far far better than him.

Since Everton rates Onyekuru very high ,Ademola lookman is now trying to compete with him and use the SE to return to Everton's starting XI .

Who dey reason wetin I dey reason?

Simmy and Ighalo were just as useless as the 3 defensive midfielders we took to Russia to warm the bench. A wise coach wouldn't pick Onazi, Joel, Ndidi, Etebo even Mikel(all defensive midfielders) to a tourney ahead of someone who provides an attacking out let. Why didnt he replace Simmy with Kalu as a like for like, for injured Simon or better yet, drop one of the ineffective duo of Onazi and Joel?
Onyekuru is far far better than the Kalu I watched today.

We will miss V.Moses with Kalu not with Onyekuru .

Omeruo already told us at last WC that he still has a lot to offer

Surprisedly some want Omeruo out and Semi in.

I can say it anywhere that Omeruo is better than Ekong.
Omeruo lacks pace.

The Ideal formation for the Super Eagles is 3-4-3 or 4-2-3-1 since we are now spoilt with options on the wings.

We need to play to our strength if we want to dominate Africa.

The only problem with our team is that we still lack a true no.10.
