Me I have not recovered from the jitters with which Balogun ended the WCQ. Till now I don't trust him. He's not as assured as Ekong.
Bro na the same match wey I watch you watch.Balogun cleared a lot of balls in the first-half.Ekoong was just averag

If not for their long Oyibo wall partnership, I will prefer Omeruo and Balogun to start.

OGa this is football. If you cant hold your goalkeeper accountable for letting in a cheap goal under his arm, then we might as well give everyone on the team a free pass including Onazi.
Why do you think the goalkeeping spot is the most sensitive in the team hence, the call for an experienced head to "man" the post. A goalkeeper can make 20 good saves but one error can undo the good he did all game, especially if it costs his team vital points.
My brother the midfield was very poor in the first-half.Poor DM and CM.

Onazi shouldn't be starting games.I expected Joel to show his quality in this match but he failed.

Both Onazi and Joel made Mikel poor in the first-half.They subjected our defence to so much pressure, but Uzoho was calm, made saves and commanded his area well.

Uzoho was very very good today.

At a time a guy at my back was like this keeper na Dea Gea ooo.

Stop criticising the young man.You want us to bring back Enyeama and repeat the same mistake we made with Rufai.

An Enyeama that now keeps for the U21's.Do you think he will still have that zeal players are known for?

At least Uzoho can keep with hope that a top club can sign him.Can such be said of Enyeama.

The Uzoho I saw today is ready for the WC and deserves the Eagles no 1 Jersey.

Having Kept against Argentina,Poland and England,he is ready for the big stage.
Uzoho will never be as poor as Marius was in UCL finals.

I love Omeruo, he showed today that he is miles ahead of Awaziem, but he should remain a back-up to the Oyibo wall.

Who and who still dey see Shehu as first choice?

Ebuehi proved again that he is too good for the bench and deserves to be first-choice RB.

Iwobi oo,without him their is no Russia for Eagles.Who and who will still start Simon ahead of him?

Vic.Mo and selfish football, this is the same reason he was subbed against Iran and only returned to starting line-up due to injury to Babatunde. We just need one more winger or even Lokosa if vic.Mo fails to play the "one-touch two go football" we played against Argentina.Vic.Mo should learn to pass the ball and stop being selfish.A man at my left said "Moses just dey play like this because nobody fit bench am".

Kudos to the boys they played well .

Ogu and Etebo is going to Russia.

Joel is up against Ndidi and Etebo(Box to box Midfield position) and not Onazi
Onazi is up against Ogu (DM position)
Mikel Agu is up against all of them. The most likely to be dropped.
Why Etebo is highly favored to make Russia is he is also back up Winger and AM.
If Simon doesn't make Russia Etebo deputises for the wingers.
cc: EEGA
But Onazi started from the Bench against Poland.

Nididi is out injured so Joel is favored to start. Simple.
With Ndidi present Joel will still start ahead of Onazi. No mid-fielder apart from Mikel and Ndidi can keep Joel on the Bench.

LESSONS TO NIGERIA FROM THE UCL FINAL 2018
1. Super Eagles should play safe during these friendlies and trainings. No injury please
2. Rohr should check our goal keeping department again and again against immature and school boys mistakes
3. Watch that boy Luka Modric from Croatia. He is a threat.
4. Watch out for game changers like Gareth Bale.
GOD HELP NIGERIA
For me I would say a quality bench.

Who and who are our back-ups?

Especially back-ups for the CBs because we tend to struggle there without Balogun.

The central defence of the Super Eagles requires attention.

in defense of the likes of Uchebo and Nwofor, it wasn't like the established players gave a good account of themselves either. After all, Emenike was in that team and he was useless.

If Rohr thinks he needs another striker, he can get the Simy fellow. I still think his role is dependent on what he does against England, I an really not concerned about him though.
Emenike had two assists in the WC as a no.9. One was the cross that qualified us for round 16 against Bosnia and the other was an assist to Musa's goal against Argentina.

That's why I said it's not clear cut. Iwobi is even more effective coming in a sub.
If not for his injury he would have played the three matches.

Mikel and Iwobi needs to start all games, their passes can be instrumental to unlocking sturbborn defence.

I don't think so. The facts lie more in Vicmo's side but not Iwobi.
Cos throughout the WCQ it wasn't clear cut between him and Simon who the starter was.

And Iwobi has started the last three friendlies because Moses Simon was not there.
Iwobi didn't play the double header against Cameroon because of injury.

He was available against Zambia, but Rohr chose to start Simon who played against Cameroon .

Strikers are not all about goals. According to pundits Firmino is the league's most complete PLAYER, yet he is not among the 5 highest league scorers.

In addition, the only reason Zidane will not have to play Benzema tomorrow is because of fan pressure, yet he has a poor goal return. Football is beyond the back of the net, brother.
WC is not club football.

Average teams like us need strikers who will always score when they get the chance.

That has been my point.

In fact the fact that Ighalo is our first choice CF, doesn't speak well of the team. Any CF that can make a serious impact should be included at the expense of a fringe defender that may likely not kick a ball.
Exactly,Ighalo has played 3 games for us without scoring.

We really need someone who is consistent in that position.

How Super Eagles Lined Up In Training Session – Crotone Simy Scores Spectacular Goal
May 24, 2018013

Ahead of their upcoming friendly game against Congo DR in Port Hacourt, the senior national team of Nigeria had their second training session witnessed by Owngoalnigeria.com.

As usual the team were shared into two different teams by coach of the team Gernot Rohr after the traditional warming up, light exercises and shooting drills.

Rohr lined the team up in a way which suggest he is already building the team for the Congo DR friendly as most of the regular players were lined up in one team, while the rest who are trying to win a spot were lined up in a separate team.

The highlight of the one hour training session game saw newly invited Crotone forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo open scoring in a spectacular fashion with a lob over the head of goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Yes! That's is why the least club in the Italian league is better than the best team in ligue 1.
To be scoring goals for a low table team means you do well facing good defenders.

Scoring against Newcastle as a Mancity player and scoring against Mancity as a Newcastle player is never the same.

I don't want to believe anyone here would NOT want to support the SE.

But what I know is some are already waiting by the corner just in case the team fails to say "I said it, I said it,". So the team performing Well or flopping is a win-win for them.

I for one advocated for Aiyenugba in the team. I have never been sold on Uzoho being our 1st choice. But Aiyenugba was not invited. Why didnt I come out here and start wailing about Aiyenugba's non-inclusion? Rohr has made his final decision on that so who am I?

If Uzoho finally gets the nod as number 1 God forbid me wishing he fails just so I can come and start shouting "I said it, I said it". Who "I said it" epp? Nigeria performing well is what matters for me.

It is a big blow and regret we are going to the WC with our goal keeping department being our weakest. But what can we do?
Ajiboye can do the job if Uzoho fails, so no cause for alarm.

Mikel, Ighalo ‘Threaten’ Each Other Ahead Of Chinese League Clash
May 11, 2018 2:17 pm

Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has promised his international teammate Odion Ighalo a ‘tough’ game when his club Tianjin Teda visit Changchun Yatai in Saturday’s Chinese Super League clash, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Mikel commented on a photo he uploaded on his Twitter handle where he and Ighalo were squaring off against each other in the colours of Chelsea and Watford during their time in the Premier League..
However Ighalo responded jokingly by stating Mikel will eventually congratulate him after the game.

“You won’t get this close to me at the weekend @ighalojude!” Mikel tweeted.
“Haha skippo you going to congratulate me after the game. Good luck tomorrow,” Ighalo replied.

Ighalo will hope to continue his impressive goal scoring run by scoring in his third straight league game when Changchun welcome Tianjin Teda.

He has scored six goals in his last two games for Changchun and has netted seven goals in nine league games in the current campaign.

On his part, Mikel has scored one league goal in nine appearances.

Changchun are 13th on 11 points, while Tianjin occupy the ninth position with 12 points in the 16-team league table.

Ighalo is not a consistent striker. He failed to score in his last two matches in a league like the Chinese league.

Let's try out other available options.

We will not utilize some of our players in their best positions. Victor Moses is a starter so if we must play 3-5-2 tell me where to fix him. You don't feel like dropping Ebuehi and play Moses at RWB right?
Moses is our best forward. Can we get the best from him by playing him as a WB?

because of his age and lack of speed that's why he will perform better as a central/deep lying play maker. Mikel naturally doesn't have the pace to strive as an attacking midfielder but as been deployed as a 10 during his days with the Nigerian youth team and few matches international football. the attacking midfield 'role will be too stressful for him judging by his lack of pace to move tro and fro in a match. sitting as a central midfielder and having a youthful Iwobi in front of him who has the energy to burst forward and return when the need arises will be a plus tothe team.
Bro, you don't change what is already working.

Mikel played the qualifiers as a no.10.World cup won't change that.

We have passed the stage of experimentation.Barring injury, Mikel will always start as our no.10 just like Moses will always play from the wings.
