EFCC workers visited the former Governor of Lagos’s home to exercise a search warrant, but they were met with a heavier force. The fans of the former governor in EPE attacked the EFCC staff and their cars.

The attack prevented the EFCC staff from gaining entry into governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s home. As a result, the investigation was delayed.

Former governor Akinwunmi Ambode is being investigated by the federal government for possible corruption. This led to the presence of the anti-corruption investigation team at his home.

A home in Park View Estate, Ikoyi and another in Epe was raided by the EFCC staff to collect evidence. Both homes belong to the former governor.

According to reports Ambode was not at home at the time of the raid. A source close to him said he is outside the country.

The EFCC issued a statement via its Spokesperson, Toni Orilade, he said, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has since early hours of today, been inundated with calls that operatives of the Commission raided the residence of the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
“We need to state for the records that the EFCC did not raid Ambode’s house. It is instructive that his administration, like other former governors, is under investigation since they no longer constitutionally enjoy immunity against prosecution.

“The Commission hereby states with a high sense of responsibility that the operatives did not raid Ambode’s residence.
Whatever the Commission is presently doing with regards to the investigation is in line with its mandate and the rule of law.

“We wish to inform the social media to be circumspect in the reportage of any news with regards to investigation activities of the Commission.

“As a tradition, the Commission does not carry out an investigation on the pages of the newspapers or through the media. Our operations are always covert until at a time when we file charges in court”.

“Therefore, the attempt to cast the Commission in a bad light is unacceptable as the EFCC will never engage in illegal activities. We remain committed to the war against corruption, he added

The former NNPC boss Diezani Madueke Alison is still in the centre of a multi-billion corruption case. She resides in the United Kingdom due to fear of being prosecuted if she steps her foot in Nigeria.

Deizani is a runaway politician and she’s fighting for her rights from outside the country.

She told the court via her Lawyer that she wants her confiscated Jewellery back. According to the EFCC court records, the Jewellery is worth $ 40 million.

Her lawyers also accused the EFCC of entering her property illegally to falsely remove her belongings.

Her legal team claimed that the federal government and the EFCC violated her right to own property and to acquire other items at her own discretion. They cited section 43 and 44 of the constitution to defend their case against the EFCC.

On July 5, 2019, the EFCC secured a court order that allows the organization to temporarily forfeit the jewellery and the gold iPhone to the government.

EFCC officials told the court that it found and seized the jewellery and the customised gold iPhone “on the premises of the respondent;” adding that it reasonably suspected that the former minister acquired them with “proceeds of unlawful activities.”

According to the court documents, EFCC took away 33 sets, include “419 expensive bangles; 315 expensive rings; 304 expensive earrings; 267 expensive necklaces; 189 expensive wristwatches; 174 expensive necklaces and earrings; 78 expensive bracelets; 77 expensive brooches; and 74 expensive pendant

Everton have signed Alex Iwobi for after reaching an agreement with Arsenal to send the forward over from Emirates stadium for £35 – £40 million
