Construction activity on site started today. I will be sharing with Nairalanders the day to day updates of this building project.

The 3 bedroom bungalow has been designed to occupy just a quarter of a plot since the land allocated for construction is just half plot.

UPDATE: Touch-ups on exterior view, color toned up on client's request.

Today I am taking it back to the stage of conception, the 3D design we made for the client before construction; the pictorial views totally won the day. This is so because our designs are engineered to give you exact views of how the building will look like at hand-over.

There are slight variations between the 3D design and the picture views as-built mainly due to changes in client's preferences. Please contrast if you can spot them. Some prefer the original design and some the building's finished look in present day. which do you prefer?

What is the nature of your proposed site, nature of the soil and terrain? Any major peculiarity on your proposed site?
Generalized estimates are often misleading.

What is a raised bungalow? I also see pillars. I thought pillars are not used on bungalows?

A raised bungalow is one which is raised high above ground in some cases may consist of a basement. A raised bungalow typically has a foyer at ground level that is halfway between a first floor and the basement level. This further has the advantage of creating a foyer with a very high ceiling without the expense of raising the roof or creating a skylight. Raised bungalows often have a high headroom and foundation height.

in the case of this project, client wanted a bungalow but with prestigious height and elegance. The original terrain of the site was such the marshy site sloped far below the road level at its far end, consequently, an increased foundation height. Foundation was a raft. The building height from ground to high pitched roof is equalled to that of a storey building (after construction was taller than the storey building two compounds away. now you can see reasons why we couldn't escape introducing columns, another reason is the suspended parapet and cantilevered window seat projections. After looking at all these you understand this building had to cost 3 or 4 times your normal bungalow. After considering finishes according to client's preferences, it will have to be 5 or 6 times your cost.

Nice gate. Will save this for future. How much does the construction of a gate like this cost?. Will not mind a full pic of this gate.

It was made for 450k black steel with polished bronze cast ornaments. Will post pic soon.

This project commenced in august 2014 and was billed to be completed in 16 weeks. It is a country home for a nigerian celebrity. The happy client delivery took of his keys at 24 weeks (after weeks of delay in funding from client). It is a 4 bedroom raised bungalow with 2 luxurious living room space, ante room, dining, art gallery, 4 bathrooms one visitors toilet. I would post pictures of the different stages of this project

justwise: This is exactly why i'm against people dropping contact details of Drs or hospitals here, many members here are now using it indirectly to advertise for some Drs/hospitals. People get commission and discounts for recommending certain hospital or Dr.

While I understand that people might abuse the dropping of hospitals/dr contact and get commissions, I also believe that many a times these contacts help numerous people in this forum( I know it has helped me in my search) . I think the trend should be that if you notice that a user is fond of placing particular contacts over and over again then such a person might be a marketer. People should not be afraid of giving information on hospitals/Drs they have used or has been recommended to them. I just think there should be a balance.

But anyways you the mod so you the boss. (Abeg no ban me o, I no be agent oo, na hospital me self dey find oooooooooo)
