Been a silent follower on this thread and learning quietly from the gurus. Had my interview today at the abuja consulate and awaiting administrative process to verify my account statement.
Below is my transcript.

Me: good morning
Vo: morning how are you?
Me: I'm good
Vo: looking at my i20, I can see you are going to Texas state uni @ San Marcos for ur MSC in *****
Me: yeah
Vo: how did you learn about Texas state uni?
Me: a prof at uni***** where I had my undergraduate studies referred me
Vo: okay, when did he get his PhD from there?
Me: 3years ago
Vo: when did you get your bsc?
Me: graduated in 2015
Vo: what have you been doing since then?
Me: I worked with xyz company then got another job later in Jan 2018 with xyz as an admin staff.
Vo: who's paying for your tuition?
Me: my aunt, and I stated her name.
Vo: the account you've got here shows a November balance, I'd prefer it was printed in DEC
Me: I got her to provide it cos she was about travelling and I was hoping to get an earlier date
Vo: okay, I'll like you to get the most recent account statement at least showing her December balance
* then she brings out the yellow paper for admin processing.
As she was about passing it to me, she asked if I was aware I would be banned if I presented any fake documents.
Me: yes ma'am
Then she handed me the papers and wished me best of luck.
I live in Lagos but now in abj for my interview.
Hope to get the whole stuff settled by Thursday or Fri then sit down and sip on some juice as I watch God finish his work.
I know it'll be positive
School resumes on the 22nd of Jan though, I hope to get an extension to make proper arrangements.

After resubmitting my sponsor's most recent account statement on Friday Jan 11th, my status was updated on the 16 and finally re-updated today Jan 18th. And visa has been issued.

Pls is there anyone here who is currently at Texas state university San Marcos or knows someone there?

I propose that the federal government should provide a voting machine/device that'll use electronic thumbprints for voting instead of papers and inks. This device can be designed with all registered party's symbols and candidate images be attached. The use of this method will save the state from incurring some avoidable costs of printing and buying other materials that will be discarded afterwards. It will save lives of innocent citizens as we've had cases of deaths of electorates and staff who attempt to prevent the snatching of election materials. It'll put a check on election rigging as no individual will be able to vote twice. It'll save the judiciary a whole lot of stress and time arising from tribunals to settle electoral disputes. It'll reduce or eradicate the level of political apathy cos the people will be rest assured that their votes count. There'll be direct monitoring and viewing of results on TV and via the internet. It'll enable Nigerians in diaspora participate in the electioneering process. Following the global trend of ditching papers for advanced tech, this won't displace the role of electoral staff as some will be on ground at pooling units to guide those with little or no knowledge of such device. Lastly, it'll encourage electronic voting where apps can be downloaded and used from the comfort of our rooms. With all these points listed, I hope it reaches the appropriate authorities and something be done about it asap.

I can't tell you how many tricky situations I've waltzed through smoothly (including encounters with security agents, OPC/vigilante, potential robbers, roughnecks, drunken/drugged up maniacs, beefing-from-afar losers, etc) , which could have easily ended very badly. Good old easy charm works wonders. It doesn't work all the time, but it works at least 90% of the time.

This write up reminds me of my days as an undergraduate in Uniben, I stayed in ekosodin for 4years and had my way without an ish. Its all about the OT. Learning to know when to be mad and when to be calm to avoid stories that touch

If one must mingle successfully in the mean streets, it is crucial to be fully armed at all times - not with a weapon - but with your discretion, wisdom, common sense, and 'fake' disarming charisma. These are the best protection against the uncertainties and volatility of the streets. No be everything require gra gra.
