kutchs: @egift reading ur posts on this thread makes me want to throw up. It is troubling that a sane person as u claim to be can support the mob attack on JEGA just bc u dont lyk Jonathan. May I ask u why Buhari thinks election is free and fair only when he wins.
You got it wrong:
- I have not made any comment in support or against the attack on JEGA. My comments are against politicians that rig elections.
- As a person, I support the full weight of the law on those who steal the people's mandate during elections. I must also note that till date those who steal mandates are very free to walk around.
- My problem with Jonathan is just simple; he is protecting individuals and groups that are attacking Nigerians. If he have evidence that Buhari is culpable, arrest and prosecute him. And do the same for everyone else who is against this nation (irrespective of his political party, religion or ethnicity).

But long as he keeps protecting the "cabals", I will always consider him their gang leader. These are my stand.

I just hope you are not onye Igbo. Because Ndigbo who are true sons of their father do not go about insulting people. Igboman has dignity, pride and respect for his fellow men. You my friend are a heap of rubbish.

@Everyone, please ignore him, he is yet to take his medication. Let's concentrate on the topic.

Tinynita: Age has got notin 2 do wit maturity or rather ur way of reasoning.
Last tym i checked, buhari was under Idiagbon.
Idiagbon did everytin in d 18 months n nt buhari.
I knw u r fustrated n it really shows.
Ur opinion doesn't matter 2 me so shut ur trap
You are very deluded. As the asked you earlier, How Old Are You? You reason like kid. I mean how can you say Buhari is under Idiagbon? That is a fish brain level.

Or you also believe that Jonathan is under Sambo? As I said earlier, Jonathan have lowered every standards to the pits that as his supporter, you are very comfortable with such ignorance.

Buhari is a great leader that is result oriented in all he does, allow those that work with him the liberty to carry out their responsibilities. The same cannot be said for the one that in charge now.
Politics › Re: President Jonathan's Speech At Enugu Is Treasonable by egift(op): 6:35pm On May 20, 2012
Does it mean Jonathan does not make the National Pledge his daily reading? If he does such treason should not have proceeded from him.

I pledge to Nigeria my country,
To be faithful, loyal and honest,
To serve Nigeria with all my strength,
To defend her unity,
And uphold her honor and glory,
So help me God.

Anyone around him should call him to order. Such carelessness is unacceptable.

ezer: @egift, kobo, and divideus...till the president points out the problem, u have no right to twist his words. Like i said earliar, the ques shud be, wat problem is the man talking about? Is it really a problem? How can we solve it?...and not castigating him. @kobo, yes, the president is not yet ready for an SNC due to reasons known best to him, dat doesnt mean we dont want it. BTW...do u know there's a diff bw military NC and democratic SNC? U cant compare both... respect ideas from others, and stop being sentimental. dis is a forum and not political battle ground. U dint answer my previous ques, instead u kept repeating ur post. This arguement is going nowhere...
Two items in your comment:
1. On the quote: Read the actual text below to tell us he is not saying the amalgamation is contributing to today's challenges (remember this was said at a burial ceremony - not a meeting on Strategy or "transformation"wink.

According to the President, something must have gone wrong along the line from 1914 when the Southern and Northern Protectorate amalgamated till date, stressing that the problem of Nigeria did not start today.

“When the Priest was speaking, I started asking myself – what must have gone wrong from 1914 that the Northern and Southern parts of the country were amalgamated? They were under colonial rule since 1960 when we started governing ourselves. From 1960 to date it is about 50 years.
2. Jonathan is against SNC. Also agreement at SNC will be binding even on the President.

tete7000: You definitively quoted the President out of context. It is either you did it deliberately out of mischief or your understanding of english is poor. What the President was saying is simply that a journey that started so well in 1914 has gone somewhere awry and we need to find out where and he was not wrong. Chikena
So, here are the exact quote, tell us it does not attribute the present challenges of the nation to the amalgamation of North and South?

According to the President, something must have gone wrong along the line from 1914 when the Southern and Northern Protectorate amalgamated till date, stressing that the problem of Nigeria did not start today.

If you think GEJ has committed treason, go out and say it in the streets; video yourself doing, and post the vid here (if still alive). Lol! grin grin
By virtue of being President and going ahead to vomit that statement, Jonathan has committed a Treasonable of Offense. If you think luring me out to quench me the PDP way, will fix it - then you are very ignorant of the fact that millions of Nigerians have died before 1914, before Independence and after 1960 just in a bid to keep this nation together.

The Fisherman cum Zoo-keeper have the effrontery to insult this Nation in one day than anyone has ever done and you are here justifying it because of the crumbs you benefit from them.

Like I said, bro, you are simply using sophistry to cover up a longing for the continuation of the status quo.
Everyone looking forward to 2015 is a Vote of No Confidence on the mumu currently occupying the post. Don't forget that Jonathan and his team stated it just months after taking office (to clear the air whether or not Jonathan has the right to contest). President Jonathan have not only disappoint Nigerian's generally, even those that voted for him are disappointed. True OR False?

Beaf: Why don't you just allow GEJ plot the way toward the conference instead of telling lies?
So in you mind, going attending a burial of a Governor's mum and be questioning the amalgamation of Nigeria as the cause of all the problem in the country is the way he is planning for SNC?

What a disappointment. Kpomo, what Jonathan did is a Treasonable offense. Twist it all you can, justify it, and defend it all the way, its the facts.

ballabriggs: Haha I laugh! Does Jona truly want an SNC? Is he ready to relinquish the powers at the center? If he does would he still be able to "throw stone" at Sylva? The noise they make is just diversionary, it is a smokescreen. Act like they are acting in the interest of the Niger Delta and take that opportunity to loot. We know this strategy, it is similar to the one used by those who sold Ken Saro Wiwa to Abacha and so we are not deceived. Like I said before when the time comes, we would separate the "monkeys from the baboons".
Jonathan understands the issue of SNC. But most of his sycophants here do not. Because once the conference is Sovereign, even Jonathan will not have the power to change any agreement reached. Jonathan have said he can only agree to a National Conference. Which is nothing but a glorified committee.

And if Jonathan's is working and stop his divisive tactics, Nigerians will be more united and nobody will be talking about conferences.

A statement like adversely affect a diplomatic relationship between nations if it was made by another president. Let alone a sitting President. Was it not the same Jonathan, PDP, Beaf and crew that trashed Ghaddafi of Libya when he said Nigeria should split into two?

Now because its Jonathan that vomited such treason, Beaf wants to insult us into accepting its harmless.

Post the statement here. Our Presido is questioning the territorial integrity of Nigeria and you are defending it. By the Oath sworn by Jonathan, it is Treason for him to make that statement. If he wants to become an activist, he should stem aside. But as President, his job is to solve the problem.

jmaine: "Conclude about GEJ and his government "when he still has 3 yrs left to operate and be judged comprehensively . . . .what did Buhari PTF achieve in the entire southern region . .did it usher in the development like what we are seeing now under democracy ? . . .if Abacha was still in power, and Buhari still head of the PTF . . .will this development surface in the southern region unlike the Norm and dream he had to create a Dubai in his region with a poor human capital development to harness and maintain them . .

You simply attcked him cos he did not endorse Buhari even though showing dissaproval for GEJ " Current" rating . . .

Even in our errors in practicing democracy . .we are learning, though a lil steep . . .unlike having a Ghadaffi like Abacha perpetuating himself with Buhari actively by his side lording and churning out decrees to keep all grounded . . .
Jmaine the truth is I like your comments, they keep raising the thing that are wrong with our President. I will respond to the ones I highlight above:
- Do you know that PTF under Buhari was described as "Alternative Government" by those who opposed it? Why? Because PTF was providing every Nigerians will ask of any government (roads, schools, health, etc). On what the South got, as I tell my people here in the East, lets get a government that works and then demand for our fair share of the National cake. Unfortunately, Jonathan is not working let alone demanding for a fare share - yet billions are disappearing.

- Perpetuating? No. That is one good thing in Nigeria, when you over stay your welcome (soldier or not), we will boldly tell you its time to go. Moreover, considering how deep we have sank, we need a leader that can look problem in the face and ask it to leave. Not one that will dine with corruption and be throwing fish bone at us.

Two items in you comment:
1. The burden of action is not on Buhari. Its on Oga Presido. Buhari have made it crystal clear that if he tries to magic number in 2015, there will be consequences (am sure they got the memo). Why can't Jona go and get him? Coward! Even our Comrade Governor in Edo have also warn him to stay far away.

2. And the Boko in the North is not to stop Jonathan, but to instill fear in Nigerians. (If you did not get Azazi's memo to all Nigerians: Boko Haram = PDP and PDP = Boko Haram).

Eagle75: *Most of achievements credited to Buhari was actually done by Tunde Idiagbon, who was more active & brave in the war against indiscipline.
*When Abacha's govt threw fat meat on the table for the duo to pick from (Buhari & Idiagbon) Buhari rushed his (PTF) Idiagbon rejected his own juicy offer.
*IBB only succeeded in their Coup simply becos Idiagbon was away to Mecca & Buhari did not even know his enemies.
*Buhari was more interested in Northern & Islamic agenda, and this actually worked against him in the last election.
* If by chance Buhari makes it to Aso rock again is going to be a different ball game from the military era, the legislative arms gonna frustrate him big time, and if he goes too hard "Impeached" will become his name.
*I must tell U Karma is a B.I.T.C.H., u cannot overthrew a democratically elected govt, without any plans of re-installing it and hope to enjoy one years after......Obj succeeded cos he handed over to civilians, so he was good to enjoy one thereafter.

Finally i am personally not enjoying GEJ's rulership, cos i think he is more loyal to the party (PDP) than the masses who yearned for his leadership, believing that he's gonna be quite different from the rest considering 1. his humble background, 2. coming from one of the minority tribes of the nation, 3. not having anything to do with the past military juntas 4.also his gentle mien. But all these doesn't seem to be coming into play now, though i'm not oblivion of the wars wedged against him by the northern Muslims master-minded by the northern oligarchs and ACN trying their best to cash in on the distractions & insecurity created by this set of people. Nonetheless, Buhari is not, and can never be the panacea for Nigerian plague.
How old are you? I don't converse with kids grin Look at the bold you typed above. You have that conclusion about Jonathan and his government yet you have the audacity to criticize those that did something. On PTF look up the total amount spent and what have been stolen since 1999 till date, you will cry for yourself and Nigeria when the sentiments beclouding your vision part a little.

At the meantime, face front and enjoy the adulterated intoxicating Fresh Air gushing out from Jona.

JW214: 70 Million followers out of the estimated 150 Millions? Am sure ur figure includes the goats, camels and donkeys up North.
Bros, Buhari remains the most respected past and present in this country. If no strings are attached. Whether they will all vote for him in an election is a different issue altogether (because a lot of factors will be in play).

Just like the person of Fashola or Buhari, you do not have to like their ethic groups to like them because they are doing or did the best they can to make a difference.

Jonathan would have been in everybody's good book if he was siding with the people and cracking down on corrupt individuals, tell his corrupt associates to give him breathing space to work, turn up everyone he know that is sponsoring the terrorists. But for where? He is doing the opposite, smooth-taking us, afflicting pains to the people and appearing so dumb in everything he say and do.
Politics › Re: Jega, INEC boss, Escapes Mob Attack In Jigawa by egift(m): 11:25am On May 20, 2012
Abagworo: People have failed to realize Buhari is the reason for peace in this country. Buhari is not as radical as the oppositions in some African countries like Zimbabwe. With a followership of over 70million, if Buhari calls for mass action, no Army or police or even bomb can solve the crisis. He did well not to call for mass action after that 2011 rigging.
Thank you my brother. They do not know the facts. Look at this two show of strength.
1. If Jonathan order the capture of Buhari (Dead or Alive), he will regret the day he was born if he consider the volume of trouble that will be on his table as a result of such action.

2. But if Buhari should make a passionate plea for Jonathan to be evicted, within day if he refuse to leave, he will so be bullied that not only will he not show face in public, but him and the people in his administration will be wearing helmet and body armour anytime they step out of their house.

NO! I am stating that by Gowon's position as "Head of State" of Nigeria, it is his duty to defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria even if it means with the last blood in his vain.

Di I hear you say "Inhuman"? Joke of the century. Buhari's legacy is that he hates corruption, indiscipline and nonchalant attitude to duty. If that amounts to "inhuman in nature", then you have a very big problem.

One of the reason IBB gave for over-throwing Buhari's government is that in Nigeria, you need to allow room for 'paddy-paddy'. See how far that is getting us?

PointB: The fact remains that the original amalgamation of Nigeria was done for very wrong reason, and indeed done the wrong way. If the President acknowledges this fact, I cannot find fault with him, and there is nothing divisive about such (not that division in itself is a bad proposal).

In acknowledging the problems heaped on us from 1914 (before or after the amalgamation as we were not told here), the President should take the necessary steps to propose solutions to this wrong.

I agree with him though that we have to review how we have lived so far. A SNC has never been so needed in this country. We might soon be shooting ourselves in the streets if we continue to avoid this dialogue.
PointB:
You are right. But let me straighten it.
1. Since everyone has been complaining about the 1914 event did anyone complain NO. What we are stating here is the fact that as President, Jonathan do no have the right or luxury to question or speak against the Nigerian Territorial Integrity, if he do, it amounts to Treason. Why because he took an oath that as President.
2. If he feels there is need for a reform there applicable laws. But not to be lambasting Nigeria at a burial ceremony (of all places). That resurrects the question, if he is a mumu that do not understand his job description
3. If he wants to wants to become an activity, he is free. But MUST step down. Office of the President is for implementing solution, unifying, protecting and developing the Nation in a way that benefits and empower the people. And not for looting and questioning our Nationhood.
4.If Jonathan and his administration are working in the interest of Nigerians, nobody will call for any SNC. But alas, its the Jonathan's "people" that are spear-heading the call, WHY - because the man just "have weight and occupy space alone".
