otokx:thats would depend on the brokerage firm too, as some of them have minimum amount to accept which is above 50k . |
One of the reasons why firstbank stock has been gaining everyday now is cos investors want to gain from the dividends and the closing date for the payment is 20th of august , now what happens after that date , would it somehow slow down the upsurge that firsbank has been enjoying in the past few weeks ? |
stocktips:You are welcome , though i think you would do much better if you would answer our questions right here on the forum , if you read through the pages you would see questions that someone else may not have answered or have not given the right answer , you can correct and start from their , once again you are welcome . |
I hope they can only improve on this, we need only forward movement , no one step forward and 10 step backwards , God bless Nigeria . |
I have a question here , i have a friend and his broker has given him an account to deposit money , however the account is the personal account of the broker and not of the brokerage firm , i asked him if the broker is the owner of the firm and he said no , he said the broker works under the firm , so i thought of asking about it here , cos my broker from cashcraft doesn't give me her personal account , she gives me the account of cashcraft with cashcraft name , plz them gurus should give good advice here . |
aksance:thanks very much . |

spicie:except if you need the owo that bad, if not i suggest you leave it for now , cos chances of gaining are very much there , with Niger love for bonus , i guess many people will like to take positions in in firstbank to be able to get the bonus , so more positive outlook is there for now . |

mamaput:dear mamaput, I came down from the stage and told the officer that I was the main performer and if there was a problem we could talk about; I was shoved violently to the corner and ordered to leave the hall to the other side of the street.his crime ? asking the police if there is any problem they could talk about . Ohh i forgot, you had earlier said it was the norm and nothing bad with all the cops did . |
ask them question like this , why would someone try to claim lottery money that he did not buy the ticket in the first place, greed ? also why would someone try to help a Nigerian move illegal money from his country cos he was promised some cut from it , but plz make sure you don't sound to be supporting the 419 act itself . |
You are making a world of a difference , at the least you are making someone to think out of the "box" |
I do not support our government not having done enough to help the country's image , same also about the individual Nigerian, however there is no justification for anyone that is innocent of crime to suffer for same crime , wherever that happens , its not fair and would never be , if its related to Nigerian it's been seen as the norm , i found that difficult to understand . |
chillbabe, thanks for ur post, its interesting to know that a non- Nigerian is saying this . |
Galadriel , i understand perfectly what you are trying to say here , yeah we have many bad ones among us , but that doesn't make all of us bad and that does not mean the good ones must suffer for what they didn't do . do you know that probably more people are shot in American than in Nigeria on daily basis, does that mean that all Americans should be stereotyped as murderers ? of cos not , and what about their porn , they have the biggest porn industries in the world, does that make every American porn viewer or immoral ? many priests in America abuse kids , does that make all priests in America abusers ? no , yet these references are where Americans do it more than others on the biggest scale , yet we don't generalize it about them , we still believe that they have Americans that doesn't indulge in such vices . why same yardstick cannot be used for Nigerian case is what i found difficult to understand . |
josephalo:I think i can say that for today , it hovers between $1- 128 and 128.5 naira . |
I started this thread and my reason for doing so was not to prove that all Nigerians in Holland have valid papers or are honest people , naturally there are people who are not clean in whatever they do . i had expected that it would be discussed is a way where the wrongs of the dutch police would be made plain and whatever bad conduct of our people there would be laid bare also, but what did we see ? we saw a situation where fellow Nigerians were telling us that it was wrong in the first place for an artist to travel and perform in another mans country and that dutch police got it all right and everything they did was the norm , this is where this thread starting getting very heated . if the very dutch people who this happened in their country would condemn it , i do not see why a Nigerian would still insist that the cops did all that was right and that Nigerian performer was wrong in asking the police a simple reasonable question .If you live in Holland and the cops raid your house and you asked them what was the problem ,does that mean you have asked for trouble ? is that not a reasonable way to address a cop , even in a third world country like India here , cops do introduce themselves and why they have come to you if you ask them , am sure this is done so also in other countries . for those who said that i sound insulting, i don't have much to say rather the way u addressed me afterwards made me to wonder who is more insulting , maybe to you , two wrongs surely would make a right .I wonder if you did not read on this same forum when same person you found so much sense on her post used words like this " Next, your arse is black and you are in a white country---no rights to prove oh!!! and she even said she is trying to laugh about the situation , if thats not general insult, then i wonder what is . My points have never been that Nigeria have no problem and that Nigeria is heaven , yeah we have bad image now , but that does mean we all 100% have bad image , tell me if you were ribadu who was given the task of helping to clean the image of this nation , and you have been arresting corrupt people and prosecuting them , how would you feel when a Nigerian like you uses words that means that every single Nigerian including ur very self is a crook , this is what some of us are actually implying here directly or indirectly , and that is just not acceptable . i was accused of not given solution as to how we can make Nigeria better , well someone asked that and i gave my response as quoted ; If i would decide to be a better Nigerian and you do same also , then i think that would be a good start , we all know where we are coming short of expectation . i guess that was not enough for that person . The way to heal Nigeria is not to paint Nigeria as hopeless case , anyone that does that should be ashamed of themselves , every country in this have their bad side just like Nigeria does , maybe we have more than others , but that does not make Nigeria an impossible case . Why should anyone call what is being posted on this forum as constructive criticism ? if someone from another country should read such , would they conclude that we are helping out nation come out of its trouble. ?i don't think so . what i see on this forum is same like what i see here in India with regards to the Nigerian High Commission , they have what you call a policy of abandonment . They see Nigerians through the eyes of the Indian police, they seem to be saying to them , yeah our people are bad , so deal with them as u like , they deserve no human right at all . India is full of drugs, drug users and drug pushers, but anytime an American or British or even someone from some African countries is picked up for drug offense , the next thing you see if that their consulate would send someone there , they don't come to say he is right to do drugs , but they come to make sure that his human rights , like right to lawyer of his choice and no-torture is given to him , but when that culprit happens to be a Nigerian, the consulate sends no one , and the cops here have seen that as a normal thing , so they treat them as they like ,this is not in anyway to say that its good thing to do crime , but its not a good thing to dehumanize someone cos he did crime ,cos that too is a crime of on its own . Sorry i seen to be digressing , but this same practice is what some of us are actually upholding on this forum . the fact that we have many bad ones among us does not mean we should condone injustice all in the name that many of us are bad , we cannot lose our sense of dignity cos our country have bad image , in fact the world does not all see us as being bad ,what of professor Emeagwali ? does America or the world see him as a bad Nigerian ?do we still have such people in Nigeria ? certainly yes . How do you think he would feel when he sees the ever pessimistic view of some people on this thread ? if we are that bad , why are western financial institutions investing money into our banks ? did they not know are all corrupt ? why are they pouring money into our stock market ? aren't they afraid of our corrupt minds ? if they would have some kind of confidence by investing their money in Nigeria , why would a Nigerian perpetually see nutting but hopelessness about his country ? If we cant show some level of faith in Nigeria , who then would do that for us , If you feel Nigeria is doomed forever , is it the world that would see something good in it ? In summary what happened in that show was not nice at all , what the dutch police did was not normal in any sense , and i will rather be free Nigerian than to be a western slave, as a second class citizen in a western country , God bless Nigeria . |
Ok , i am much more interested in the daily black market rates , today what i was told is that $1 for 128.5 naira and 129.5 naira goes for $1 . |
If i would decide to be a better Nigerian and you do same also , then i think that would be a good start , we all know where we are coming short of expectation . |
mamaput:and below is what u called the norm ? I came down from the stage and told the officer that I was the main performer and if there was a problem we could talk about; I was shoved violently to the corner and ordered to leave the hall to the other side of the street. The actor who addressed the press in company of his legal adviser said he had no objection with police trying to do their duties such as finding a criminal, but "I believe they should go about it in a dignified manner without trampling on the rights of others. My papers were in perfect order, same for Maleke who I contracted for the show. But the way and manner The Netherlands police went about the whole charade that day smacked of racism. The were so unfriendly, they were pushing and shoving people, including a diplomat from Zambia who came for the show. From across the street, the actor watched as Nigerians and others of African descent, about 500, were being frisked and sniffed at by giant police dogs, and were later loaded in trucks and driven away to various detention centres. Osoufia became convinced it was a racist attack when "they started letting go the whites among the crowd. A woman who is from The Netherlands challenged them but she was just ignored and asked to just go. She was really mad from the way she was speaking."This time she was not shoved around though even challenged them , tell me what makes her different from osuofia who was shoved around because he asked what the problem was .the norm my arse . I could not speak the language and I just must find Maleke because I took him to Amsterdam. It was later in the afternoon that he managed to get a telephone and called my number. He described his location and told us he was simply taken on a ride and abandoned in the middle of nowhere.now what was makele's crime ? well someone have said the way the cops handled the whole thing was normal . It was after television stations started condemning the action of the police that they started releasing some of the detained people.even the dutch press saw the racism in it while a Nigerian is here telling us that this the normal thing , God will help us . so mamaput when u say that what the police did there was the norm , i would suggest that you read the story very well . |
Dutch police were wrong with what they did at that show , which ever way you look at it , they are wrong , its 100% racism . |
@blue-sky , you said ; And most nigerians are curropt, and u all know it.does that exclude you ? |
sprezatura:Thats part of our problem . |
