Same stupid people going round in circles , when u travel outside Nigeria and they give you the cold shoulder cos ur from Nigeria , plz tell them that u are not igbo , but from other part of Nigeria and see if they treat you differently , yeye people .
PoliticsRe: Nigerians In Diaspora Badmouth Nigeria by egoldman(m): 1:21am On Jul 29, 2007
Good one , i wonder if they think they would be treated differently from the country where they come from .

Yeah insurance stocks have been falling for about a month now,
i hope the gurus out there can give us some insight.
ty_ademolu:
Could anyone please indicate why the prices of some insurance stocks have been falling. e.g. Mutual Benefit, NEM, Crusader. I bought them about a month ago and its been dropping.

I am also about to buy some shares in Lasaco PLC. any advice?
If you had bought your insurance stock based on sound fundamentals and value , you should not worry , but if u had bought just for the sake of price appreciations and hype , then it not good .

Are we talking of Oprah here abi Osuofiahuh Oh boy chill oh!!!! Life is too short for all this wahala oh!!!! At least she will treat me better than Nigerians ever will after all said and done!!!!! So what do I have to losehuh Please back to the Osuofia topic please!!! This is not a serious topic abeg----this one is strictly for the laffs!!!!! So relazzzzzzzzzz and join the happy people here!!!! If not, go to Oprah topics for some real "gripe" sessions!!!!!
we are not talking about ophra here , but i used that reference cos u been posting about both thread and other places about nuttin but insults and shame on the very country that gave birth to you , consider if had been born in north Korea or Cuba , if u would have the opportunity to even go to ur American heaven in the first place .
no one is saying that Nigeria don't have problem , but trying to rub it in is another thing altogether and don't expect that when u do that , we would shout amen for you .
if a police storm a show like that , they have to explain them selves , thats how its done in a civilized nation , for osuofia to tell the police that he is performing there and if there is any problem is not in anyway, if a cop come to ur house would you not ask them why they have come ? a decent police will always tell you so , police introducing themselves , it is a normal thing everywhere .
now when u say this is not serious topic , plz try as much as possible not to insult the very country that gave birth to you , cos doing that would surely attract serious response , if you feel so hopeless about Nigeria , must you come on the forum here and say it ? why not keep it to urself, yeah we have problem in Nigeria , ur posts have never in anyway helped to solve any of our problem , rather it is to rub it in and tell us how fortunate u are cos u went to America and how unfortunate the rest of us that are still in Niger .This is unacceptable and if u keep to it , u will surely see strong response to it .
PoliticsRe: My Ordeal In The Hands Of The Netherlands Police, By Osoufia by egoldman(op): 3:04pm On Jul 28, 2007
@Militia,
You think you are impressing us with so called laugh , its actually insulting the very country where you came from rather shamelessly , the day you see your mama ophra then let her know that you are a Nigerian , you will see if she treats you any different from her long held view about Nigerians , then u would understand that the policy of generalization is very bad .
BusinessRe: South Africa: The Real Giant Of Africa? by egoldman(m): 2:58pm On Jul 28, 2007
Denex you said and i quote;

We love South Africans, Nigeria has respectfully drop the name "The Giant Of Africa" and taken up "The Heart Of Africa", acknowledging that our brothers, the South Africans are now the true Giant of Africa.
better remove that word "WE" cos ur speaking for yourself .

grin hahaha, long read, funny nonetheless. karma has an interesting way of balancing things out. it's the repercussion that ensued from running his mouth. I believe he brought the whole incident upon himself with that widely publicized nonsense of a song which brought international detriment to his and Nigeria's image, defamed his global marketability, but also increased his stock among most of Nigeria's populace.

After calling a jack a jack let's call a spade a spade, there's a tad bit of racism and unfairness involved as well.
You have a point there , not like the ones who tell us that the dutch police are right with their action and cos our black arse we should not ask for our rights .

PoliticsRe: My Ordeal In The Hands Of The Netherlands Police, By Osoufia by egoldman(op): 6:27am On Jul 28, 2007
@ babeelove,
I think everyone has a basic right to choose which environment is better for his or her family!!! I am sure we all love Nigeria regardless of what we say about it. Sometimes when we express ourselves--we get emotional and the message is often lost!

Listen!!! And Listen good!!! Or should I say read and read good!!! I am not Militia that you chose to disrespect at every turn in your life because you have nothing better to do with your time. I never called your reasoning "stupid" and you better watch what you are writing to fellow people like you on this thread. I really could not care less if you started the thread.

All I am saying is that do not address me and use the same word "stupid" in the same sentence. You need to learn some manners ok?Huh You also need to respect other peoples' views because the whole world has never revolved around you and never will. That is Militia's opinion and just like yours I have no problem with it. DO NOT USE INSULTIVE WORDS ON OTHERS!!!!! We can comment on each others' write-ups amicably without all this frustration. If you do not like it then ----------- step!!!!

Yup!!! That is why you are you and I am me!!!!! We can have different opinions and not a wrong or right situation----It is a matter of choice. Do not have to agree with you and you do not have to agree with me!
you still sound stupid anyway, so you can now go jump the lake .

Yeah i can see where you are coming from ;

I think Militia has made some good points here.
Is it not possible that these Nigerians were disorderly? Why not get both sides of the story if possible and here what made the police act this way.
yeah am sure by your extremely stupid reasoning , Militia have already gotten the other side of the story before she4 posted her utter rubbish here .

read the comments concerning what happened in that show from the person you claimed to have made good points to you :

Since I am not ready to go back to Nigeria.
Next, your arse is black and you are in a white country---no rights to prove oh!!!
that is what you call making some points abi ? angry angry angry

i do not know if some people post here for the sake of posting or cos they want to make some points , if you fall into the later then something is seriously wrong somewhere .

Militia what source do you need, i know the guy, and yes in The Gambia. The guy committed the crime so amnesty international wont do shit and besides how do you help a person that acts like a retard. If anyone knows a liitle about law and rights you could advise on what to do.
I think its better to leave the legal aspect of how he was prosecuted to the amnesty people as that is their are of specialization , do you known if the guy have adequate legal representative during his trial ? do you know if the judge had erred with his sentence ?what about appeal? i dont mean the guy is right to have forged his passport , but there are several complex aspect of legal stuff that needs only the experts to deal with it .
So don't rule out if amnesty international would help him or not , in stuff like this u need to exhaust all legal opportunities b4 concluding that all hope is lost .The have helped people get better outcome in cases even more serious than this .

Paw-Paw:
If he had stayed in Naija, he would not have had this problem. Lets build a viable country instead of complaining how ill treated we've been.
Are u saying that osuofia should not have gone to perform in Holland ?
Paw-Paw:
Stop complaining for once in your life.
What am saying is stay in Naija and build it like America and Europe did. We did the same to Ghanaians and they did not complain.
American and European Artist like Osuofia do travel to perform outside there country , an artist performing outside his country does not mean he is not helping to build his the nation ,in fact he osuofia is helping to clean the image of the nation by letting the world see that all about Nigeria is not crime and corruption .

The new prepaid meters are far cheaper than the previous ones.

The basic charge is about the same rate: N6 per kWh. But you don't pay anything extra if you don't use the power. No meter maintenance fee, no fixed charge, no disconnection or reconnection fees, no estimated bills.

I've been using one of those meters for 2 months now and I still haven't consumed up to 5 thousand Naira.
In that case , its a good thing .

Ibeto Cement will join them in about 40 days time as Presido have reopened their comp0any closed by OBJ .Wondering what effect it would have on that sector considering that Ibeto Cement got into OBJ bad books as it flooded the market with cheaper cement , in fact he has said it that cement price would crash in about 40 days time , let see how that plays out with cement stocks .

For those of us that might be interested in the daily rate of the Naira against the Dollar , i feel it would be a good thing to have anyone with information both from the official bank rates and the black market to post the rates here .

The last rate i was told few days ago with regard to the black market was $1- 128 Naira, does anyone know today's rate , both from the official bank rates and the black market ?

Militia you seem to be enjoying urself, you seem to have some response to everything and everyone,but i don't know if u understand that u are actually irritating people in here ,yeah we have many bad ones among us , but surely not all of us, and by the way u are a Nigerian , the fact that u live in the us and have us citizenship doesn't not change what u are , if you want to know the value of ur American citizenship , then when u see ophra , tell her ur from Nigeria and see if she treats u differently.So if you don't have anything positive to help ur country just keep ur peace .

as if if those in Nigeria should count themselves as unfortunate , very shameful , just imagine how a dutch person or even the police themselves would feel when they see a Nigerians saying this , really shameful .

My point is to make light of the situation first of all so we do not get emotionally worked up for nothing!
I don't understand why u see this as "nutting" , am wondering if you would react like this to such stupid and illegal act from the dutch cops had you been the president of Nigeria .
did you read the whole of that article ? like some of the quotes below ;

when at about midnight, I was on stage when the police invaded the place. They came in large numbers, over 150 of them. They ordered the show stopped and asked all of us to move to a corner of the hall. I came down from the stage and told the officer that I was the main performer and if there was a problem we could talk about; I was shoved violently to the corner and ordered to leave the hall to the other side of the street.

The task of looking for Maleke fell on Osoufia who was further impeded by his lack of knowledge of the language and terrain. "It was a big ordeal to find Maleke as every police precinct we went to, there was no record of his arrest. I could not speak the language and I just must find Maleke because I took him to Amsterdam. It was later in the afternoon that he managed to get a telephone and called my number. He described his location and told us he was simply taken on a ride and abandoned in the middle of nowhere. You see what I mean that the raid was just planned to harass Nigerians and Africans leaving in Amsterdam?"
