Amidst, the reactions and counter reactions that have trailed the invasion of the NASS by the DSS - which includes conspiracy theories and finger-pointing -- I still cannot find a valid (or invalid, as the case may have been) reason as to why the FG with the concious awareness of PMB and PYO would deliberately sabotage the recovening of the NASS they pleaded for. I may not have info on all the happenings on that day but even with what I gathered it could never have been an impeachment move as they (APC) were largerly outnumbered; The FG are desperately in need of NASS approval on certain important issues and would only be kicking their own foot by sabotaging the process; It is too close to the election to be giving the opposition a louder voice and giving the indifferent minds a reason to doubt the authencity of PMB's democratic stance; It would be obviously and completely hyprocitical to have openly condemned it in Benue and play out a similar script in Abuja.

Somebody who would not require propaganda to influence muslims in the North or Christians in the South: A new breath of fresh air in our politics that would be neutral, religiously. Can we ever seperate religion from politics (or anything in this country)? Nigeria being a country with over 190 million people is a very fragile, volatile and religiously sensitive Muslim-Christian state --yes, we are not a secular state, forget all the crap in our constitution. We have long been polarised along religious lines and our politicians have preyed on this from time to win election(s). Even the 'civilized and educated' are still swayed by religious sentiments but would never confess to this being their major reason; conciously or subconciously we are influenced by our religious opinions. But the poser is "WOULD YOU DROP RELIGION ASIDE AND VOTE FOR AN ATHEIST?"

This is an economy that must be built from the scratch, be self-sustainable, diverse (non dependent on crude oil), and highly productive. In as much as we love to hate this government but we must see what is happening in Nigeria's economy as "birth pangs". With all this drive especially in refining our own crude oil, improvement in the agricultural and manufacturing sector, it would only be a matter of time before we experience real progress in this country.

I like how you all love to make most of issues like this. The President a loan figure put together by an appointee and another appointee did his job by exposing the overpayment. Either way, the states would pay back the original loan sum.
