Politics › Fani-kayode To Contest For PDP National Chairman Position by Ehiscotch(op): 7:53am On Jul 18, 2017
A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode will be contesting the position of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Fani-Kayode’s Media Adviser, Jude Ndukwe said should the position be zoned to the South-West, his principal would be among those to contest.

He also said Fani-Kayode was under pressure to run for the position.

It means the former Minister will be competing with a former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Bode George; the governorship candidate of the party in Lagos in 2015, Jimi Agbaje; and a former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran.

Ndukwe told Punch that consultations were still ongoing but did not rule out the possibility of the former minister running for the position.

He said, “It is far too early to make this decision but I can tell you that there is a lot of pressure on him from various quarters to run for a key position on the National Working Committee of the party.

“We are still waiting for the zoning formula and the date of the convention . It is after all that has been agreed on that we will decide whether he will run for the national chairmanship or anything else or not.

“One thing is clear though and that is that our party needs strong leadership to take on the APC Federal Government. He has that strength and passion and he has worked very hard for the party.

“He has also been defending democratic values for the last two years. Meetings and consultations are still going on so let us wait and see how it all goes.”

Politics › How Jonathan’s Govt. Retired Me Over Memo On Biased Appointments – Yushau Shuaib by Ehiscotch(op): 7:47am On Jul 18, 2017
Yushau Shuaib, a top Public Relations professional
has spoken on his ordeal during the President
Goodluck Jonathan administration.
Under the regime, Shuaib served at the National
Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as
Information Officer.
In his recount contained in his new book, ‘An
Encounter with the Spymaster’, Shuaib said he was
marked for persecution over a published memo to
the former Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-
Iweala, on lopsided appointments in the Economic
sector.
The memo resulted in his premature retirement
from the public service.
He wrote: “Meanwhile, after the compulsory
retirement, I have published over 50 articles in
various print and online media. The collection is
categorised under different chapters covering
Media Engagement, National Security, Global
Perspective, Socioeconomic Matters, Newsmakers,
among others.
Youth Corper reveals how he made over N800,000
monthly from this PROFITABLE business. CLICK

“Series of unfolding events, within the period,
mainly influenced the contents of the articles. For
instance, after the publication of the memo, Dr
Okonjo-Iweala reported me to President Goodluck
Jonathan over the article. The Presidency, after
that, instructed that appropriate measures should
be taken against me.
“At that period, some great acquaintances including
Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, Danladi Kifasi and Ifueko
Omoigui Okauru among others, waded into the
matter for an amicable resolution. Even Mallam
Garba Shehu and others intimated me of fantastic
job offers. Though I politely declined to apologise to
Ngozi or accept new jobs, I nevertheless
appreciated their concern and efforts.”
After his forceful exit from the public service, a
presidential adviser hired him to serve as a
consultant on strategic communication to security
agencies in Nigeria.

Four years in his compulsory retirement, Shuaib
has assisted many organisations in crisis
communication strategies.
His professional initiatives and platforms have
garnered recognitions and commendations.
They include, but not limited to the African
Excellence Award for the best PR Platform in
Africa, SABRE Award on Public Affairs hosted by
African Public Relations Association (APRA) and
Golden World Award (GWA) on Crisis Management
from International Public Relations Association
(IPRA).

You IPOBS are a very funny group. Calling Nigeria a "ZOO" like you were not part of it all the while or your brothers were and are not among the people that are ruining & have ruined the nation.
Continue absolving yourself of the blame and believing you'd be better off with the actualization of Biafra.
Where are your leaders gonna come from? Pluto? Mars? Space? Is Kanu gonna be a dictator or is it not the same leaders who have hindered your progress as a people?
Keep living in the illusion that you & your zoo chanting nation are not among this mess.

OTURUGBEKE OOOO !!! "imported and substandard rice" ? What a time to be alive, pls if you're paid to be a rambling wuss, just spare those of us with our brain intact. It's not compulsory for us to follow the idíocy bandwagon
Rice made in Nigeria if processed properly beats that of the imported rice. It is healthier and more nutritious. Ask anyone you know is into agriculture.
Just as how Made in Aba products also need better refining and branding.
Most of the foreign rice were below quality and are leftovers or surplus from the exporting countries.

Here is a statement from former minister of agriculture and rural development Adesina Akinwunmi where he said that some of the imported rice are over 15 years old.

Ps, how much was a bag of rice before APC terrorists took power ? Give answers for other local staples too before shítting to your brains. Thenk
The price for an imported &sub standard bag of rice was about 10k give or take.
Nigeria is never supposed to import commodities for which it has comparative advantage. It is so sad that we as the giants of africa spend billions importing products we very well can produce.
If we do not revert back to agriculture we would forever be underdeveloped.

They can only persuade them.

You just stated the obvious. In Benue state every Tom, Dick and Harry is involved in agriculture.
Gradually supply is meeting Demand.
What pleases me the most is that money that would have been used to import products is now used to patronise local farmers thereby conserving our foreign exchange and improving the standard of living.

Sadly many Nigerians aren't seeing the benefits of this agricultural revolution and economic diversification.
